My understanding was that you needed to craft the unfired version and deliver the fired version. Can anyone give us the exact task stages involved, if this isn't true?
Coherent post.

I felt the need to make a mature coherent post...just jibberish below.

I make these on the Drinal Server. This is a special item worthy of a comment from a master potter.

VERY few ppl understand this item. First of all basically this thing is for Barbarian Shaman. Sure Barbarians in general can wear them but it truly shines in a shamans hands. The funny part is neither POTTERS NOR THE BARB SHAMAN realize this is the correct diety for them! If you ask a Barb Shaman what diety he serves he usually responds something to the effect of "the Seventh Hammer" or some such. The potter then thinks "wow...thats one I can't make" and there the story usually ends. But the Seventh Hammer et. al. are collectively The Tribunal!

So if you are a Barbarian Shaman this is YOUR ITEM baby!

But...to complicate things further, the related gem is an ivory. You can't buy this thing anywhere unless a PC has sold it to a NPC vendor. So you have to catch it as a mob drop or buy it from other players or NPC's as you find them available. As potters have a hard enuf time getting the 4 masters (chanter, rogue, cleric, potter) together and get the 12 components or so necessary to make ANY idol....it usually doesn't happen at all. AFTER you get your hands on the stone then it must be imbued....and LO AND BEHOLD there are no Barbarian Clerics or Clerics that follow The Tribunal. So if the persevering few get this far THEY give up at this point.
ALL IS NOT LOST.
For once Verant exercised a little forethought and has provided for SOME class/follower of every diety to be able to imbue their stone. Can anyone guess who this elusive person is? *glances around classroom* YUP its that VERY barbarian shaman that so earnestly wants the idol made in the first place!
Once you realize this and actually have the stones in your possession its a piece of cake. Shamans are VERY eager to imbue them. Either its in their best interest because they want to buy the finished product, or it's THE FIRST TIME ANYONE EVER...EVER...gave them a reason to use that dang spell they bought and forgot about!

OK...enuf of the humor. The bottom line is this item is problematic to make at the best and hatefully hard at the worst. So if you're a Shaman and want to greatly increase your chances of getting this item made follow these simple steps.

1. Get ivory. Buy em. Find em. Whatever it takes.

2. Don't look for an Idol making Master Potter until you have about 4-5 of these puppies at least and have them imbued. (Reason is easy. With around a 200 lvl master potter it is still not uncommon to have 2-3 fails while making an idol. Each fail can cost between 30-100pp at LEAST.

3. Remember your potter is your friend. His job is basically thankless. Almost the community social worker. A typical idol will cost him around 225-350pp to make and yet ppl generally refuse to buy them for more than 400pp. (For a sub 200lvl potter)
It requires a high level enchanter, a mid level poison making rogue, a high level cleric/shaman/druid, and himself to even begin to make this item. I usually spend about 2 hours harvesting items and another two hiring other classes to help me complete the component end of things. In the end, its just not worth the trouble it took to get their level high enuf and it sure doesn't make as much money as playing the game. It's why there are only 4-5 active master potters on any server at a given moment who are willing to sell their wares. (Less than that on Drinal.) Be nice to them. They don't have to sell to you.

Beyond that...few things make me happier than seeing an item like this be put in the hands of a competent Shaman. Most other classes/races WISH thier Idol was this useful!

Be Safe,

Trafalgar
