WTF
# Jun 04 2001 at 11:23 AM Rating: Decent
Upper Guk has turned into a camping ground for level 40+ on Rallos Zek, it must be even worse on the carebear servers. What a shame, if you're level 30+ you're an **** for camping a level 18 frog, suck it up and buy one.

Hmm. Even at 43, I surely don't have the cash lying around to buy this at 900pp+. Why spend the cash when you can camp it just as easy? Let's see. "Suck it up" and spend a lot of cash, or spend a few hours camping it and save the cash? Guess what I'll be choosing.

There's a difference between pharming and getting an item off a low level that would be useful at higher levels, ya know.

Ok ok, but I often see necro, mage and echanter pets standing where the Squire Spawns. Same with the IBC spawn... grr. And most of these twinking/farming/whatever fools will not give up the spot to someone who can actually equip the item because "I've had this camp for 9 hours".

I'd have to agree with you there, I can't stand those that can't use the item there camping it like that either.

# Dec 02 2001 at 1:11 AM Rating: Default
you have no idea how the casters love to see noob meeles camping the drops we need gust so thay charge ungodly amounts of pp for an item. If the chanter pet was there so was the chanter thay dont get pet comands. And whats the deal with this thing? look at the speed and dam its not that good I have given better away.

Well I for one plan on stopping by here after I get my elven faction up in CrushBone(where I am currently camped) as I plan to begin vox raids soon(im currently 44 and hope to start raiding in next few months) and I currently only have about 83SVC. Im omw to get this fork, the crown of froglock kings and a cloak of the icebear, also once I get a good svc neck piece I should be easily over 125 or so SVC and ready for a vox raid at level about 48(hopefully).
Not "inside" ramp room

Just to let people know - the spawn is "just" outside the Ramp Room - The Froglok Gaz Squire spawns at 595 180.

"Do Paladins get PiERCING???"

YES THEY DO!!!

This should definitely be usable in the range slot by a Paladin but its not.

Oh well nice item to sell though.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 30 2001 at 5:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok n00bs. In the original game, pallies could not use piercing. This item drops from the old world. So it's not pally usable.

also, it's a Runed BONE fork.... most likely created out of the BONES of some dead creature...

Pally's are life givers... not ones to use something that symbolizes the dead/undead...

Be glad Pally's can't use this... now if only they couldn't use the Crested Mistmoore Shield... or at least change the graphic when a pally uses it...

Actually, it's more because the piercing paladins get--two-handed piercing--is supposed to be a separate skill from piercing. Whether the two skills are treated the same internally I don't know, but they're meant to be separate.
The runed bone fork is a piercing weapon; it is not a two-handed piercing weapon. That, I think, is the real reason paladins can't use it.

These saves are not just useful on high level raids. In the 30s and 40s you run into casters on a daily basis...nasty ones. Next time you stroll by the lake in oasis and get your *** waxed by one of those deepwater gobs, you will know what i mean. Or worse, get feared in a dungeon. Or, try duking it out with a guk ghoul wiz and then tell me that magic saves are not important after you finish your CR run. This item is great to have.

Just FYI: This is no longer a problem. They removed the Range attribute, this can still be equipped in the RANGE slot but cannot be thrown.

Saves?
# Mar 11 2001 at 11:17 PM Rating: Good
As you get higher in levels, your saves become more and more important, because the mobs you'll encounter will start throwing nasty, nasty spells around. Dragon raids, sure, but even taking on garden-variety casters in your 30s can be a nightmare without good resist stats.

Just one example: Imagine that dual-yak-weilding warrior in Full Crafted running on haste and shaman-buffed who has been cutting through the mobs in your group suddenly charmed and unleashed on you. That's why saves are important. :)

Very good resistances for ranged. I got one in Upper Guk the other day and carried it around for awhile until I happened to click on the auto equip area while shuffling items around and it landed in the ranged slot. Very nice. Just don't throw it.
