Solo Cleric
# Oct 10 2003 at 9:47 PM Rating: Decent
I would add that clerics can solo. I am 50th level now and I solo most of the time, and not just undead. "fear kite" and "chain stunning" that is our trick.(At least it is mine)

The AC is nice, but the saves and Wiz are what I would be after. My guild calls me 'the fearless' because the gear I use still, was all obtained by 30th level. and only 3 items where bought. Time for an upgrade to my Purity belt. ;-)

IMHO All classes can solo, you just have to find a stile that works for you. I have a druid and never did learn to quad-kite well. to each there own. Peace to all.

#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 26 2003 at 5:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i hate monks
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 21 2002 at 10:21 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is not monk usable, go complain about monks somewhere else
Back off
# Jun 17 2002 at 8:43 AM Rating: Decent
I am a monk myself, all you who say items like this are better of as Monk items are drunk.. Thats just a waste of the 90mana and the 10 wisdom. Hell, just back off. Sorry bout all thsoe other monks who go around posting that all items under .5 should be monk usable.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 17 2002 at 6:19 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I totally agree that if one person could benefit from an item more than me....or if that person using the item over me would benefit the guild, then I usually drop out of it. But, when this thing dropped off Tormax...you bet your sweet **** I was in on this thing. Only 1 belt better for druids (as stated on EQ Druids) and that is the Belt of Dwarf Slaying. Yes this item has low weight which is good for a monk, but the high wisdom on the item is why it is a priest item. Im sure there are other belts out there that a Monk could get that have a low weight on them. But, if that belt doesnt have the saves this one does then get the saves somewhere else. This whole game is one big balancing act with armor and finding the right combination of gear to where at any given time is what makes your character good or bad at that time.

monks cant use this....why does everyone always post something about monks? who cares about monks anyway most people who complain about them dont even play a monk, or people who say that " this item is nice for a monk" if a monk sees it he will know if it is good or not so please just stop using the word monk lol
#Anonymous, Posted: Oct 28 2001 at 7:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) shoulda been a monk sash
RE: wtf
# Feb 10 2002 at 2:30 AM Rating: Decent
Why is it, that every item under 1.0 wt should automatically be a monk item?
That 6wis ring is 0.1 wt.....MONK ITEM
That 25hp/35mana earring is 0.1 wt...MONK ITEM

I hate to say it, but it gets old. I know I know..Monks have a weight limit before being hindered, however not EVERY item under 1.0 wt should automatically be monk item... is the Spider Fur Belt not good enough?

If your post was put in as a joke, my apologies. I am just getting sick of monk this because its low weight.

I like it. Realy. Does a piece have low wight it's either "MONK ITEM!" or "WHY NOT FOR MONKS?".
Right, the wight is low. Right, the resists are nice. Right, 90HP never hurts. But what do you want with 15wis and 90mana? There are many other realy nice belts a monk could wear. Check the discussion for this belts and you will read for the better one "Never ever should a caster roll for this belt!" So let this belt for the wis casters.

Bilm
nice item

yay!, the wis is nice :) the hp and mana helps some and the resists help when kiting casting mobs this is a very nice belt

congrats to whoever gets one

Druid usable Uber-Loot? And with good stats? And it doesn't weigh 50 pounds? What the heck was Verant thinking?!? ROFL
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 20 2001 at 11:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Granted, clerics and druids would have no use for the haste, but shamans are meleers as well as casters. I'm sure they'd love even a minor haste to assist in their combat duties.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 21 2001 at 3:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) why do you say that, there is no haste on this item.
RE: Seriously, haste would be nice
# Jul 21 2001 at 9:33 AM Rating: Decent
When exactly would a 55+ shaman melee? Or 50+ shaman for that matter. Unless you mean farming orcs in CC for your wyvern hide items. Sure maybe then I can see haste being useful. No duel wield, no double attack, kinda makes a poor excuse for melee. And before I get flamed yes I know Pallies and SK get no duel wield, they do have higher skill cap and get double attack.
RE: Seriously, haste would be nice
# Jan 05 2002 at 11:32 AM Rating: Decent
Well about the shaman-meleeing business : if there is any caster-class that would melee besides normal melee-classes, it would be the shaman.
Im a 54 shaman myself, and do melee occasionally (not in groups of course). Shamans are able to get quite good AC (I know one who easily has over 1100AC), my strength is always 255, my dex sta agi easily reach 190 all, I have alacrity (40%) and soon celerity (50% I believe), we have a pet that doubles for 51, I hit for max 85 or so and on top of that my weapon procs a 265DD. Every mob I fight is slowed down to 70%. With a good haste item I should reach 70% haste. So dont tell me shamans have no use for haste.

Its no use for a shaman to melee while in group, but solo we melee a lot (at least I do hehe). A shaman from that point of view is actually a warrior (with pet) who can heal, buff, speed himself (and pet), and slow, debuff, dot, nuke mobs, but who lacks dual wield and double attack.

At lvl 54 I have no trouble putting a blue mob into the grave. And another blue 5 mins later. A warrior, even with max haste, cant do that. So believe me, haste IS useful for shamans.

Personally I do not play a shaman, but a RL friend does play a 65th shaman on my server. Hes soloed Yeldema and just about everything else he feels challenged to do. Although his pet is the scariest thing fully buffed, he still melee's quite a bit. Especially since he got canni5, he never sits down for mana, so might as well stab a few mobs with his spear..

Anyway.. That was totally off topic, since this item does not have haste..

Another off topic haste remark for casters.. Clerics are quite adept at soloing dark blue undead when they get the higher level hammer spells. With a haste, your hitting that much more often, and proccing more often. Making it much easier to kill those nasty undead with less heals in between..

Im done :)

I have to agree to Astyanax in this.. Im only 52 (53 tonight) and I solo hornets or giants at giant outpost in BW when Im not able to get a group.. The only hard thing to solo there is the named giant who is to hard for me and my pet.. Otherwise, if my slow isnt resisted its pretty easy to take those guys.. Great xp though..

This has nothing with the item to do but I just wanted to say it =P

Since when does wyvern hide items drop off orcs in CC? Not that I'd complain if they did. :) If you are talking about the SHM only artic wyvern hide armor, that is tailored from the arctic wyvern hides that you get in cobalt scar.

Oh yeah. Where's the haste? Hehe almost looks like you are posting for a different item.

Not really for melee of course, but I do know that shamans get sumoned and hit a lot while trying to slow mobs. So each and every bit of ac and hp counts.

Roughly the same applies to clerics (never seen them sumoned much though) and druids (but that's mostly because of snaring/nuking to early or overnuking)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 20 2001 at 12:12 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Put haste on this and make all/all and just be another tank only item. Not that I disagree with runebranded girdle and such going to tanks, but geez, 15 wis, 90 mana, who the heck needs haste.
