quick study of arms versus gloves
# Aug 06 2001 at 7:59 AM Rating: Decent
I just did a caster search and a melee search of arms versus gloves pieces.

My findings are that gloves are either the exact same or 1AC off the sleeves. In this instance there seems to be a large break from the gloves. The gloves have AC20 and these are AC15. This suggests a big departure from the norm.

Any suggestions as to why? Of those of you who are regulars to TOV and know off the top of your head of other suits can you look to see a difference between gloves and arms in terms of AC? Thanks.

I would let you roll for it, I would. If it's all/all and you can use it why not? That would just mean I get another chance to group with friends @ ToV and try again ;)

I wouldn't let anyone roll for Silver Bracelet of Speed...its a quest item.
The reason for +Sta

One of the benefits of +Sta is increased HP and endurance. Underwater zones drain lots of stamina...

What i realy wonder is that i have seen a lot of items now with >10 Sta+ that are Caster only..
not that any melee will need one..

not saying this ainĀ“t a nice item. I wish one for all my Guildmates. Either this, or the 10th Shawl :o)

Or both seeing as this is an arm item and shawl is shoulders <smile>.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 13 2001 at 7:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm just waiting for all of the monks to see this item and just scream because it is CASTER ONLY. Just because an item is 0.0 wt. doesn't mean that the item is a monk item.

He's just joining the "monks want everything, bash on them when they don't even complain" bandwagon. In other words, he's a jerk for even making that post. :(

And the stamina on that is great for swinging those heavy weapons you know casters are ALWAYS using. :P

I don't see why it's such a big argument... high level guilds don't roll on items, and even if this was monk wearable (along with casters) it would be given to a caster.

Don't label monks like that. I for one think there's already been plenty of wonderful high ac/low wt/good stats/good saves items released that our class can use. I've been playing a monk for 39 levels now, and the only thing that popped into my head when I saw this was "wonder what the caster wants with all that sta?". Even if monks could use this, it would take a pretty big jerk to even try to claim this over a caster. I can't think of a lot of arm slot items with a mana buff that nice.

STA = hp

Casters at high level (especially int casters) have int coming out of their ears and start looking to maximize in other areas. Many int casters ignore ac (since a respectable 800ac isn't worth the sacrifice due to its negligent damage mitigation on uber mobs) and go for hp/mana/resists.

15 sta on an int caster equates to about 30hp. About 45hp on a priest. About 75hp on a hybrid. About 90hp on a warrior. (These are guesstimates for 60th level. I'm a 60th cleric and get 3hp per stamina) Why Verant didn't just slap +30hp onto it instead of +15 sta, I dunno. But sta in the form of hp does have a use for int casters.
