#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 15 2001 at 10:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) There are better ways to go about things jena, you made your comment in a snob like way. i have noproblems with uber guilds or the items they bring, and i do not get item envy. i think FoH has done a good job with the game and has made the first step in many things however you need to keep in perspective there is more then just item envy floating around on the boards and veeshan, if your not at LEAST a semi courteous player people will remember and think of you as an a^^ or something else, you may not think mutch of their opinions but that right there is why verant has taken notice of the items is because of the rukus you create. Think about this idea....
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 11 2001 at 10:09 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok IMO opinion FoH could probly kill any and all mobs known to EQ hehe and soon they shall and reap the rewards fo rall they have suffered thru to get this completely awsome item. I AM many MONTHS away from going to look at the shiny zone wall to ToV and quite frankly am scared to enter it but will commit absolute ****** suicide by running thru the WHOLE zone if I can get far enuf while its empty btw so as not to train the single hardest zone on hard working fellows. FoH has been kind enuf to share the item stats of there loots so please do not complain and have this nerfed or FoH will probly NEVER release stats on them again and have us never think of trying.

ToV is not the hardest zone. Veeshan's Peak, with freeroaming lvl 60+ Dragons that add while you work on the first one, is the hardest zone. A zone that must be entered by doing a lvl 55 quest, and you cannot use the corpse summon command, and no telepor / gate spells work there. Thats the hardest zone. I'd like to see FoH get some drops from there.

Getting into VP is maybe harder than actually doing VP. Still, it's not easy, with 2 minute respawn and normal mobs that hit for 1500. OTOH, my guild is not the top of a mid-aged server and we can take it with 20 people. While we've cleared the rest of NToV, we have yet to kill Lord Vyemm, and most everyone else on the server leaves him alone too. Unless we miss something vital out of the strategy, I feel pretty useless getting gflux-knockbacked against Vyemm every 12 seconds - that component of his AE being unresistable and maybe bugged in that regard.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 29 2002 at 9:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) FoH did VP with 2 groups just recently as a break from VT, for kicks n' giggles.

VP is easy. None of the dragons there have more than 32k hp's. When VP was designed, there were no epics, there were no primal weapons, and the best armor was the kunark armor. EQ is a completely different game than it was then.

Veeshan's Peak was made to be the most difficult zone in a game filled with Lammy's and Bloodpoints and Cobalt etc. etc. NToV designed to be the most difficult zone in a game full of avatar procing epic wielding Kael/SS quest armor wearing, uhh... people.

And as long as you're not stupid, there is no signifigant risk of losing your corpse.

Once you learn how to pull it VP becomes a cakewalk.
Veeshan's Peak

Fires of Heaven was the first guild to clear Veeshan's Peak (killing Phara Dar). It was the hardest zone pre-velious, but really isn't too noteworthy by velious standards.

Vp's a hard zone, but some of the dragons in ToV could kill every dragon in VP at the same time without taking much of a scratch.

While the individual dragons in ToV are noticeably rougher.... ToV is a simple raid zone with no super-restrictions. VP is more like the Kunark equivalent of Sleeper's... I would argue the restrictions are even worse than Sleeper's. Sure the mobs might be easier, but the risk of corpse lossage is high if you're not well prepared or something goes horribly wrong.

hmmm, VP is not that hard, around 30-35 or so well equipped people can clear all dragons, and walk out. And, you have to be incredibly unlucky (read: stupid) to lose your corpse in VP. The key is soul bound, and SC works just fine. And everyone know how to get out of VP (Die in VP, die outside, rez into VP, loot, rez outside).

In fact, I think more people should work on getting their VP key. It's not hard, it's an awesome zone, and it's rarely contested (I think, some servers might be different I guess). And, some of the loot is still well worth getting.

One of these years I just might be able to go to the Temple of Veeshan and actually see some of these great items be droped (but of coarse with my luck it will be many years after that that I will ever win the roll.)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 11 2001 at 5:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) foh is a bunch of furrylovin no-life antisocial dorks who think that being l33t in EQ is all there is to life
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 12 2001 at 1:59 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, in their eyes, being elite EQ Players IS what matters to them.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 14 2001 at 2:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I applaud your remark about differing lifestyles. Speaking as someone who plays video games as a livelihood, I've been known to chuckle at people who say "Get a life, it's just a game" every time I earn my pay cheque, because the only perspective that you'll ever truly understand is your own. I seriously doubt that any member of FoH gives a bloody damn about the envy floating about those who are supposedly 'EQ-worldly'. Personally, I have fond memories of them when I played on Veeshan. In another game I play, there was a team of similar stature (called the Shadowknights, no less LOL...some of you might know them from Tanarus or Asheron's Call). They receive the same flaming/bashing and absentee ridicule FoH gets here, but...say aloud that they were the best when they played, and a hush falls over the chat because no one can argue the point. MY point is...let it go. It's just a video game. =)

i'm very very sorry to bring this up, and i know this is just about the worst forum to discuss this sort of thing, but i gotta know: how much of your "world at large" is effected by either cannibalism or pedophilia?

=p

about FoH, i dig them... i respect the fact that they (as well as many other guilds) set the bar higher for the rest of us. however, i think that in _no way_ reflects the members' personalities. the two are totally different. a concept unites a guild, and the people fill it. FoH has some good things going, and the folks' mentality has very little to do with that concept.

then again, i'm looking from a very offed and unbiased perspective: i don't read the FoH boards, i don't play on veeshan, the only things i see from FoH are their submits to this site. =)

take it with a big ole' grain of salt, but i think, as a guild, FoH has garnered my respect, while the individual members mean nothing to me.

dig?

Gee, anonymous bashing of my Guild. I'd almost care...but wait...I don't. Just a quote for you to live by:

Hate the game, not the playahs.

I don't get it, why would you hate the game not the players, if there were no players, there would be no game?
