Gorgon Head  

 

Gorgalosk. I looked up the definition of 'Gorgon'. Dictionary.com said it was a snakes for hair woman, or an ugly woman among other things. This described Gorgalosk pretty well, so I killed her daily or twice daily for like two weeks, and finally she dropped this baby. Same stats and appearance as above. Along the way I killled Heart Harpie every time with Gorgalosk, and many of the other harpies, eyes, and air elementals on island 3. This did not drop from any of them. Each time Gorgalosk dropped six animal figurines, various class specific no drop items like the haste belts, gloves, or bracelets, spells and usually one no drop quest item. This time she did not drop the one no drop quest item. Only this tradeable one. The no drop item for this quest is the staff from Eye of Veeshan. Persistence pays off.

O, this item is used in the Necromancer quest: Necromancer Test of The Hands, https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=346, which gets you the Gorgon Head Staff. https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=3590. Which is pretty cool for a necro because as far as I know they don't have any intrinsic stun spells, and this is a nice long stun (5 seconds), but can be resisted. Tash with Orb of Tishan, then this should do something to many mobs. Will probably get a bit of aggro also. As if necros don't get enough already.
