Looks like a ribcage when wielded. Would be nice if all items you look at can match the graphic when held.
Careful when drop tranferring this item. In Shadeweavers I couldn't pick it back up. Half of it was sticking out of the grass but I just could not target it to grab it. Stupid bug. I was more pissed off that I had to watch it poof in front of my useless attempts rather than losing the low ammount of cash I paid for it. Those Ulnaks do exactly the same thing. When I tried to drop transfer a rusty one (to my SK for his pet) in the same zone it just stuck out of the grass straight up with no way to pick it back up. **** I think I rather have someone swipe something on the spot rather than have something gay like this happen where you have to watch it disappear.

Every now and again Verant will hold an EQ wide event. When this happens the residents of Befallen become mid 20s, and aggro on everything. If looking up the Bestiary for befallen about half the NPC's are not really there unless a GM event has been declared. The Dark elves, durring this event, all see thru invis.

Befallen recently became the tougher version again,and a monk and I were cleaning out the third floor when this dropped.Since the monk all ready had one from a earlier drop,i got to loot it.I think its pretty cool and i will hold onto it,even i am a druid and they can't use it.

Due to Verrant mismatch in source code when patching, the new Befallen Zone where the new object and mob where to be found has been erased and the old Befallen Zone re-installed instead.
So at the date of October the 3rd, the Beffalen Zone is the Old One and those objects are not dropping.

Got one today 12-29-01 off of a reanimated sacrifice on the third floor. Mob looked like a female zombie.

GREETINGS! i have cleared the 3rd floor of befallen and have yet to see this reanimated sacrefice!i cannot find any info on the lvl or class or anything involving it.could anyone plz help with confirmed spawn points i have heard ther was 3 but i have yet to encounter this diabolical retch.i realy want this sheild!

Befallen seems to switch between the old 'newbie' dungeon, and the new 'tougher' dungeon. I'm not sure what triggers it. The new dungeon is the one with the reanimated sacrifices and the shield. Although, considering the ones I've gotten actually take away AC, I think its a pretty crappy shield.

This shield seems bugged. At least the ones dropped lately (as of 8/26/2001). When within my weight limit, this shield actually took away 10 AC over wearing no shield at all. I can't believe this is soley because of the -5 agi. Only when I was overburdened did this shield help, giving me about 15 AC (can't remember exactly) over nothing at all, and about 2 AC over a charred guardian shield. Very strange.
Agility makes a big difference. Example. Cougarskin Mask.

How much more AC right? Believe it or not It gives me almost 10AC. I think it goes on Defense and Agility. So when encumbered you lose Agility, AC drops, fighting when encumbered is not the best idea. A monk even gets another bonus he loses, it drops insane amounts. My friend told me when Defense is high enough Agility ads something like 1.5 points per agility. dont quote me on that, but I know for a fact it gave me WELL over 6AC.
Since that talk I have been re-thinking my armor (Especially on my rogue) This item :

As of this posting it still drops. Picked one up last nite. Lemme just say thanks to Radditz of the ECI server for bowing repeatedly to Need before Greed and allowing others to get stuff to make their characters better to his own exclusion.

this looks like a ribcage no? i hope so, because if it does im gonna pick one up for my 50 shaman, this really isnt a bad hybrid shield at all, i had a walrus bone shield that i sold for MOUNDS of money and it was ac 15 and +5 wis, it looked like the newer shield graphics, sort of like the south african war shields, heh maybe i can farm this thing for ectra cash as this skeleton ribcage shield look is hard to get.
I've already run through 4 of these nifty shields on the 3rd level of Befallen.
The key is to simply farm the spawn points of the Reanimated Sacrifices (there are three of these points that I know of).
If Bloodshadow or Bobbinsnort(sp?) are at one of these 3 spawn points, grease 'em! The R. Sacrifices won't spawn there if onna dese useless named are hoggin' the spot :)
Besides being a nice shield, they have an awesome skeletal graphic. Gonna be sporting one of these on my cleric and my baby Iksar SK (I'll even put the Lumberjack Helm on him to complete the whole "Skeletor in black chain" look! Mwahahahaha!).

I was in Befallen last night helping my buddy with the Monk quest and one of the people we were grouped had a guildy drop this on me. Quite possibly the best gift I could have ever received. She left as soon as she gave it to me so I never got to thank her. That is why I play. I always try to help a lower leveler with items when I can.

Okies..look at this shield...its not bad at all, even for older players...it may not be an everday sheild..but it has its uses...This thing has 15ac..thats 5 more than a Charred Guardian Shield..and this thing has +5 to sv fire...not too bad for only losing 5 wisdom..I was lucky enough to get one of these and I am keeping it..I can already see it will be useful at my next naggy raid..

You don't LOSE five wisdom, you GAIN five wisdom with this shield equipped. I got one of these and gave it to an Iksar Shammie guildmate, and he absolutely loves it...I would use it myself if I could (better than Crested MM and *way* better than Shiny Brass, obviously). Unfortunately pallies can't use a High Elf's ribcage as a shield...hehe I can't understand why that would be...

hahahahhaah 1st time i was in there 1st spawn it dropped . I went out ot EC sold it to sum sucker for 2.5k lol then went back second spawn its dropped. It is dropped on 3rd floor in the big circle room. The monster htat drops it spawn by the rock in the middle forgot its name, but it loks liek a zombie

Wow i am gonna try and sell mine for that much you got lucky on the drop. It comes from the animated corpse in there next to rock like ya said. i have seen it twice in about 15 hours of play.

Cool looking item but not very usefull rather use my testament of venear but this item is quite rare only saw one in about 5 hours of camping wasn't looking for it but i got the high role hehe so now i wear it to look cool until i sell it

Interesting... just got one question for you, how on earth did you get a blood stained tunic in your secondary melee slot? As for weither it has a plate look... umm it might if it were armor but seein as it is a SHIELD I doubt it, it more likely has that nifty skeletal sheild graphic. Recommend reading the item before posting, saves so much embarassment

Looks like befallen really got an update..not a bad one either, I wouldn't mind having this for my cleric...just take it off when selling stuff
