Berserker usable now too.

A possible good use for this would be perhaps against the Cragbeast queen. I'm a warrior, and to be honest I don't have to many Piercings weapons. (You can only hit Cragbeast Queen with piercing weapons)

This really is a very nice weapon for a 62 Paladin, hitting hard, hitting relativly quick, and looking good. The proc is, of course, more fun then useful... but it does get in the way, especially if your reposting more then your worth. The DOT can REALLY get in the way of big raids in which special Mez Techniques are required to keep order. In really nasty Raids it might be wise to take this badboy off because it always seems to proc when you don't want it to...

Yea, nothing's worse than having a pally die in a raid who was using this and seeing constant "Mob has been awakened by pally's corpse" because of the dot.

I'm a 65 warrior and I recently bought this in may for 14k on Emarr. I've seen it on sale for around 18k so the price is dropping on this bad boy. Now with CS3 and max str buff of 280, I can hit for 307 max and crit for around 497. I just recently won a Greatstaff of Thunder that drops in BoT, and I use that more when I have to MT. I still use the lance when I'm not MT. I find the Greatstaff holds better aggro. This lance is still one of the best droppable 2handers there is IMOP for when you need Dps, next to a Windblade of course. The price is dropping on the Windblade as well. They now sell for 30-40k on Emarr, so I guess that explains the price drop for the Lance...

Sept 15 2002 i was awarded this while helping do the war for a 60war bud of mine. Now my warrior is 55 and has maxed piercing cap (240) my damage bonus on this bad boy is 27. Ill have a 60 pally and sk equip so i can post thier damage bonus as well. Now damage bonus is not only lvl baised, its also skill with type used. If ya dont believe this make a monk (ikser since they are fun -=D) run em thu fob then kurns without equiping em with a 2hd. get em to mid 20's where damage bonus kicks in then give em any 2hd ya can use. Youll note your damage bonus will climb. Ill admit not drastically but will as skill develops.Higher cap per lvl just as any other skill.
If you long right click then left click to chat the damage bonus will be 0 no matter who is looking at, as well as min lvl to equip wich is 55 as stated by various posts below.
This it the crem de la crem o the war, he makes it to thurg n bashes one of the pivitol people ya gota turn his batterd head into its over. Any of his 55+ cronies streak past, over. He poked me for 450 without dis, high 200's with . I was givin the lance cuz he dropped me 2 times i looted jumped on em and regained agro. Why? I am a warrior, i never spam for heals clerics know thier job, i dont whine for a rez, ill get mine eventually(or can find a friend who can later if needed.)Hope this helps, im a lot sillier then your average tank, gear is nice but if verant says they are done, they yank the cord and all the UBER LEWTS(goddam i hate that phrase)go up with a giggle from some corperate jackass, and a puff of ozone.
Have fun, be safe and rember... EQ2 they zone faster then you /smile

Aye, the minimum requirements are 55 to wield. Short of VP and Luclin, this weapon is one of the best of its kind in my opinion.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2002 at 6:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Shush up. oddly this can be used with another weapon or shield because of some sort of bug. but think of using it with any other weapon....DW checks with the delay of the primary weapon, 45 riggggght, sure the DW can make you put out more dmg, but not THAT much more.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 17 2002 at 8:31 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) also, consider the fact that this is a 1 hand piercer. You could carry it with another weapon also to outdamage inny's curse easily. So you don't get the lifetap effect, but that's no matter if you are putting out twice the damage of inny's curse. Of course that's from a warrior prespective where you CAN dual weild...
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 22 2002 at 11:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) he thinks that there aren't 2hand piercin, he firgures since it's a [iercer it must be 1handed, idiot

You can't dual wield another weapon with a two-handed weapon. Look at the screen shot: 2h Piercing. I don't know what level you're at, but you should know you can't wield another weapon with a 2h weapon.

This lance will outdamage Innoruuk's Curse, UNTIL the procs go off (assuming they went off at the same time). At that time, not only will Inn Curse be doing more damage, it will be healing the SK at the same time. Also, the stats on Inn Curse dust this by mile.

Better than PLD epic? Perhaps. Better than Inn Curse? Absolutely not

I urge you to re-examine Inn Curse--it is better than this weapon without question.

This weapon will outdamage inny's curse, when i was wandering the bazaar I found they had a arena (supirsed I just now found it? Me too.) anyway when I got down there I saw A 60 Pally and 60 Sk, and being bored as I was I watched, the pally whooped the Sk badly, neither used their special skills (LoH, HT) and They were using inny's curse and Narandi's Lance, the pally emerged victor and all was settled. Just my 2cp.

Im trying to be respectful, but are you kidding me? There are so many variables in what you described that is almost is not possible to form any conclusion whatsoever.

Did they have the same ac? Did one have more AA abilities than the other? Did they move at all? Were they casting any spells? etc.

What you described means, basically, nothing. So the PLD defeated the SK wielding this. Big deal. To attempt to generate any conclusion out of that is meaningless.

At the end of the day, when the procs fire, Inn Curse will outdamage Narandi's Lance. It may in fact be by a very small margin, but it generally will.

This is how it works. Inn Curse proc has a DPS (and healing aspect as well) of 8.33. Narandi's Lance proc has a DPS of 6. The difference of 2.33 DPS will make up for the difference in the basic DMG / DLY advantage, (level bonus is the same for both weapons). Seem like Im splitting hairs? Yeah. But you are when you are comparing these weapons anyways.

My calculations show that Inn Curse will have a .5 DPS advantage over Narandi Lance. Yeah, it's tiny, but the numbers are what the numbers are.

What makes it even more interesting is the healing aspect of the proc, as well as the stats that dwarf Narandi's Lance. Also, if the SK just casts Boil Blood in the first place, which has a higher DPS than the proc does, he will far & away outdamage Narandi's Lance.

Narandi's Lance is NOT a superior weapon overall when compared to Inn Curse. For the effort obtained to get both? Perhaps, but not overall is isnt

The stats aren't made up pal, and no spells means what? No spells. It only takes a few IQ points to read what I said.

# Oct 14 2003 at 9:46 PM Rating: Default

First off I'd like to make sure you all know I have a Pally.

What is your definition of no spells? Does this include hastes set up beforehand, like the Paladin Haste spell, Paladin buffs. If a Cleric Buffs a SK and a Paladin the SK will usually win even if they arn't using spells.

Also not to attack you but frankly as not knowing you at all I'd say your making those stats up. They are all too close, 3 of the stats are 1-2 points off.

Anyways both these Races are pretty crappy, Darkelf SKs make me laugh because they lack so badly in HP and tanking capabilties (here comes the flamage), but its TRUE... do you ever see a SK Warrior, no because that makes no sense. (Errr I want the INT, thats why I just said Make they crappy TANKs, so don't start with me =P )

Highelf Paladins are extremely crappy in theory, but they really aren't all that bad, because in the end the difference between them and other types of Paladins are evened out by gear, minus a few more natural HPs. Oh well I don't like Highelf Paladins but in this fight I'd say he would be the stronger man if they had the exact same weapons.

Anyways any Paladin or ESPECIALLY SK that uses this over their Epic is nuts, but one must admit it is a nice weapon.
RE: *
# Feb 23 2003 at 12:40 AM Rating: Default
how did you figure the DPS' on the weapons? I put both into copeland's weapon analyzer with same level str and haste percentages and from what it said I got 23.45 dps on lance and 20.48 dps on inny's curse. Of course, there is the healing aspect for epic which would make it more appealing generally, as well as stat values which dwarf the lance. but then again lance runs 7-10k on Nameless while epic takes weeks or even months of camping, sometimes with 1-3 groups 50+ to obtain, and at times failing on a single battle could send you back to zero. and of course since the lance is in my inventory and the epic is not... I'm gonna go with lance. oh, and according to Lucy the proc on this weapon STACKS with the SK spell Boil Blood and the other spells in the line. just my 2 cents.

Those calculations are based upon both procs being in effect all the time. The duration on the procs is very different. It is forseeable to have the effect from narandi's up nearly the entire fight, keeping the effect from inny's curse up as long is not at all likely. All in all, they are fairly equivilant, I'd just assume have a narandi's on account of its easier to get and can be sold when I upgrade it.

RE: Effect
# Mar 28 2002 at 1:19 PM Rating: Good
The effect on the weapon is the same as the spell (Shadowknights and Necros get it). It is a nasty DoT that does 600hp of damage.

I recently was got this lance on a guild raid, it's an incredible weapon. Far better than the SK Epic that I had spent a year on, and never got (stupid drake hide in Hate, ***** you Verant).

The DoT procs quite often, I am happy to say. Sometimes as often as 3-times-per-fight, which basically ensures you will have the DoT on the mob the whole fight. It's a great taunting weapon. Rogues love me.

Damage Bonus
# Oct 29 2001 at 3:21 PM Rating: Default
Indeed. The Damage Bonus was 17 when I was lvl 55. At 56, it's 18. When I had a lvl 60 warrior friend look at it in the trade window, she said the Damage bonus showed up as 28!!
As Bale posted, the damage bonus doesn't look like it goes up incrementally. I'd be willing to bet there's a HUGE jump between 59-60.
Since it was upgraded to 44/45 this last patch, I've been hitting for an average of 120-150 with the occasional 200+. With my Strength buffed to 255 and with Call of the Predator, I've been getting max hits in the 250s.
Record hit (259).... Aieee Carrumba!

Usable by Pal / SK / and warriors at lvl 55 or higher. All three classes can use 2hp from lvl 1 (based on piercing skill). All of the above classes will show a damage bonus (was 18 for lvl 56 and 21 for lvl 57 on my Pal). This is a post epic weapon and recieved some tweaking in last weeks patch. Fortune has it that my servers uber-guild was selling these for 25 k about a month ago. Definitely better than the Pal epic.
At lvl 57 with str at 255 I hit for maxes in 245 range, averages are around 100 - 120.

Reason why it says dmg bonus 0 is either because its in the hands of a very low level tank, or because its being looked in from the inventory of a non-WAR PAL SHD

Noxium is a Grave Lord - a lvl 60 SHD. I know him personally.

I think the dmg bonus is 0 because the screenshot was taken by someone who cannot use the lance looking at the item through trade window.

2hp is the same as piercing, it is just that the weapon requires 2 hand to weld so you cant use a shield or a secondary weapon.

Rather the other way around, but damage bonus is entirely based on delay...
RE: Damage bonus
# Dec 04 2001 at 2:07 AM Rating: Default
sorry but i needs to disagree with your post the dmg bonus is more based on your class a lvl 55 paly may have a diff. dmg bonus then a lvl 55 war.and a sk also may have a different dmg bonus but it depends on your class more then the delay as far as i know delay has NOTHING to do with it.
RE: Damage bonus
# Feb 12 2002 at 9:04 AM Rating: Default
OK, The damage bonus that you see on the weapon is calculated by nothing but level. If you can equip it, the dmg bonus should be the same for a 55 warrior and a 55 sk.... Then of course there is a second bonus (which is not visible) for the delay of the weapon (bigger dly = bigger bonus)

Hope this helps...
RE: Damage bonus
# Nov 08 2002 at 8:20 AM Rating: Default
Damage bonus is determined by Level, Delay and also by skill with the weapons usage. If your skill is maxed in 2HP, you'll notice that every time you level, the bonus goes up. Same thing if your skill is NOT maxed. Look at the bonus before starting a fight, then when you get an experience point at piercing, when you check the bonus, you'll see it go up there also. Delay can be verified by looking at weapons that have the same skill, such as 2HS, 1HS, or 2HP. A 2Hs weapon that has a delay of 39, will have a lower damage bonus than a 2HS with a delay of 49.

You have to be level 55 to even WIELD this item. This is the first item I've heard of like this. I can't confirm this firsthand because I got it at lvl 55.
But a Paladin on Prexus was nearly stomped to death for trying to sell this awarded item since he was awarded it over other who could and would use it. He was level 54 and he claimed he could not equip it.

How to get this
# Oct 04 2001 at 10:08 AM Rating: Good
This item drops in the 10th Coldain Insignia Ring War. In short, this war involves a full out battle with about 6 waves (if I remember correctly) of Kael Giants.
2 waves of Recruits - all blue at lvl 55
2 waves of (Captains?)- blue to yellows at 55
2 waves of Warlords - yellow to red as heck at 55
Finally, Narandi the Wretched - lvl 65? and one tough ****.

You need about 50-70+ people to do this quest, not only successfully, but well. Keep several outlook groups to the east, west, and south of Thurgadin to keep the bulk of your forces aware of where the next wave of Giants is coming from.

The person doing the ring quest not only has to kill all of the giants coming from ALL directions in the Great Divide. They get to command a whole bunch of Coldain warriors through the Coldain "Heroes".
During the battle, they also have to keep any runners from reaching and entering Thurgadin. If that happens, game over. Thurgadin is overrun and the war is over. They also have keep the Coldain Heroes alive since the Heroes are the ones that will award the ring and other looties (including the lance) at the conclusion of the war. If a hero dies, the item he awards at the end of the war dies with him.

The loots I'm aware of are:
Narandi's Lance (this page)
Narandi's crown (Pal, SK) AC25 +tons of stats and Flowing Thought 2
INT Caster neckpiece with Flowing Thought 1
Not sure what else, since those heroes died in our War.

Hope this helps.
