Vol. 9 No. 8
~ Battle is joined by the Warriors of the North ~
While the rest of Norrath stands by idly and watches the situation in Gukta
| unfold, the Barbarian Northmen have decided to take action and take up arms against the Troll and Dark Elf armies in the mountains of Rathe.
It was a valiant attempt by the Northmen to strike out against Warlord Ykesha's Troll host. Sadly, they were far outnumbered and
|
| even the great skill of the Barbarian warriors was no match for the strength of Ykesha, who now calls himself 'The Grozmok'.
Though the Northmen initially held the element of surprise, it only lasted briefly before the Troll forces reorganized and routed the Barbarian
| assault. Orrin Dosalk observed the battle and described it as "A valiant effort by the Barbarians to do good while others will not that ultimately lead to the destruction of the Northman force. I saw no survivors escape from the fray, though there might have been one or two. I'd say that's about it."
|
| The efforts of these brave men and women from the north will not be forgotten by the Guktans or their allies.
Kaladim still has not taken a stand on this situation. Sentiment in the city seems to be mixed on what action should be taken. Some
| believe that we should take up arms and fight along side the Frogloks to protect the citizens of Gukta, while others argue that it would be better to mind our own business. If pacifists succeed in delaying a decision much longer, it may be too late for the Guktans.
