Vol. 9 No. 2

~ Grim Events in Innothule
Swamp ~

Word has reached Kaladim
that, a battle was fought
in Innothule Swamp between
the Frogloks of Gukta and a
group they allege to be
composed of adventurers and
elves. Reports claim that
this group was attempting
to perform some kind of
summoning.

Details regarding this
event are have not been
verified, however, rumor
has it that it was a group

of high elves being
assisted by a rag-tag
assortment of adventurers
and mercenaries. Official
statements from the Guktans
claim that these
interlopers sought to do
harm to their swamp, which
is why they attacked.
Witnesses made no mention
of such harm, however, and
tend to support the idea of
some necromantic ritual
being carried out.

Survivors' stories are
inconsistent at best on the
creature summoned from the
ritual. Some claim it to be
a Troll, others claim it to
be an amphibious creature
of enormous size and
resembling no known shape.

"It was gia-nourmous!!"
said one of the survivors
who claims to have seen the
beast. "It had giant spines
and great, big, purple
eyes! I didn't get real
close to it, but it seemed
to be surrounded by a nasty
mist that made my skin itch
when I approached. I don't
know what it was, but to be
honest, I don't want to
find out!"

The ambassadors from
Felwithe deny any
involvement by the High
Elves and have said in an
official statement that,
"It is absurd to think that
any high elf would practice
necromantic magic. Clearly
there has been some sort of
mistake, and we believe the

Guktan's owe us an apology
for this horrendous
accusation."
