#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 04 2002 at 6:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I don't really like newbies that much. When I go back to my home town for new spells after a hunting trip, I'll find more new newbies, and some of them will /con me and ask what level I am and start following me around, and asking me for help. Man it's annoying!!!

Dude,

everyone was a newbie at some point, even you. Remember that and don't be so grumpy. It belies your signature, by sounding small of mind spirit and heart.

Everybody was a newbie once - but not everyone was a beggar. If you want to ask for something, fine, but don't beg and don't stalk hoping that you will change someone's mind. =)

FSP armor

once again, i post this.....FINE STEEL PLATE IS NOT OVERPRICED!! anyone who thinks so, i dar u to become a smith and try to make your way up to being able to make fine steel armor. NOT EASY!! if it was any cheaper, smiths would go broke.
You Newbies...
# Jun 14 2001 at 3:58 PM Rating: Excellent
Someone gave a smithed piece of armor to a kobold, as a treat for some newbie.

Some newbie found it, and thought it dropped there regularly.

The "slate" is 3-resin charcoal dye (1 resin is "black", 2 resin is "grey").

goobers.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 17 2001 at 7:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hah.. there is only 1 resin for Charcol.. 2 or more cannot be combined. So it isn't dyed.

Really...? I stand corrected and feeling a little silly. I did not know that dyes changed the actual NAME of the item.

Well, as I posted earlier: "No biggie" then.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 14 2001 at 11:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What drops the FS armor in the Warrens? I've camped the princes chambers with my group for a total of about 6-7 hours and haven't seen any plate armor drop, just the soft wicker and bamboo.
RE: What drops it?

I've hunted a lot in the warrens. what I DO have is a full set of Cold Iron, which drops of the prince, the king, and the warlord. what I have never seen drop is FS
No biggie...

We have discussed this item to some length in my guild, which specialises in tradeskills, and we have concluded that there is no reason to worry because:

1) This is a rather rare item
2) It is found in a quite underpopulated zone
3) So far we have only seen Slate Vambraces, so even if the world gets flooded with these (which it won't, see 1 and 2), we still have all the other pieces of Fine Steel as options.

As for the remark that Fine Steel is too expensive, I guess I would agree to some extent, BUT any smith who decides that FS is the ultimate he can produce, and this is where he should get his investments back is a VERY unambitious one.

Just as skewers and Scalers and lanterns and such are stepping stones along the way to mastery of blacksmithing, Fine Steel is just another step of the way towards producing the various CULTURAL armors, which are the trademark of a true master (-And, I might add, generally VERY worthwhile investments)

#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 13 2001 at 2:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) OK jackasses, you are all talking about a loot cap on this item. It is not Magic, lore, or no drop. Just look at the picture next time before you say something. So many of you just assume that because it comes out of the warrens you wont be able to send your level 51 druid over there to camp it for your twink, and even though there is so much better stuff you can get you will all still complain because you cant have some things from the warrens. I hate people.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 13 2001 at 11:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Unless they just added this in the last patch, it doesn't drop off of random kobolds...it's about as rare as an Obretl spawn in South Ro. If they did just add it to the random drop list, it's only going to drop from the very highest level un-named mobs... just like you'll probably never get bamboo from anything below huge/frothing/elder, and bamboo isn't all that common even in the king room.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 13 2001 at 10:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) not to dampen anyones spirits, and/or hurt anyones feelings, I camped the warrens for three days. i ended up with 2 pieces of cold iron armor, a couple pieces of bamboo splint armor, and the soft wicker that i wanted did not drop at all (from anything i killed). not 1 time did i see this item. so... the level cap on loot (in my oppinion) seems not just to apply on magical items.

Warrend drop code
# Jun 13 2001 at 7:08 AM Rating: Default
Not that it will prevent 60s from healing etc their low level friends, but you all forget the loot code in the warrens. Dont know about you sll, but its not worth my high levels time or my friends to go into the warrens to PL/loot assist for these items.

#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 13 2001 at 10:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey smart guy the warren drop code is for magic items only and since this isnt magical anyone can get it.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 13 2001 at 11:26 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Drop code is for NoDrop, not Magic
RE: Warrend drop code

Actually, friend, it's for No Drop, Magic, *and* Lore items. All three. From the patch message on March 14, 2001:

In the case of this item, the point is moot, as it lacks all three, but I thought I'd clarify it up for you guys.

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 13 2001 at 6:45 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Everyone kiss you black smithing market goodbye!!Instead of mastering the skill you can go to this newbie zone and kill for your armor! Then sell it to newbies for outrageous prices!

#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 12 2001 at 6:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, does it have anythign to do w/ the warrens then?
