Making this crap
# Feb 14 2002 at 10:41 AM Rating: Decent
Making this for sale on the Drinal server.

With the last patch indicating drop rates on temper ingredients will increase, I could imagine making and selling these for 3k - or even less depending on how much of a change there has been to the drops rates.

At the moment I would charge 6k, which no-one in their right mind would pay, so they will not get made for sale (price is based on the fact that I could make an imbued breastplate with the temper and sell it for 6k, so why would I waste the temper on something that sells for a lot less?)

What are the components for this stuff and where can I get it...???

Not Fun

As Qalaarea said (Hi Qalarea this is Fippletop), this stuff ain't fun I have a high elf cleric smith on Drinal too, and with the new failure rates on all FS+ difficulty smithed items, the only way to balance this difficulty is to get 201+ when you get a slight success bonus. You can speak to most smiths who will say to get at least 20skill past a trivial to have any assurance of success without huge stat buffs from your local enchanter and/or items. Yet most of these pieces trivial within 15-5points of the highest amount of skill any smith can ever attain and I am told by many the cloak does not trivial when fully imbued and enchanted. Same as Qalarea said 5k sounds right. I found the only way to get enough money for this is to sit in velious saying rezzes for donations every now and then. I have friends helping get the items while I try and build my skill, but even so it is very straining and I don't think I can break the 201+ mark without getting into the 50th level or more. Awesome twink stuff and I don't plan on making another elf of light until I have a full set to slam on him. *drools at the thought* Ah well I added nothing new except to show you the severity of this stuff and that is is not something you will ever see for sale on a wide basis, you had better start sucking up to a high elf smith and maybe even help them get the components b/c I for one won't be selling it anywhere cheap if I have to do all the work.
Twinkage

I'd like to respond to the statement that these items are only good for twinking other characters. I'm a 54 Cleric on Veeshan, I'm not rich, I have probably average armor for my level. I'm not in an uber guild, I only wear 1 piece of equipment from a dragon raid etc.. etc.. but alot of this stuff is better than what I'm wearing now, for instance cloak, the Wis on it is better then mammoth cloak, which has no ac but 7 wis, The bp 28ac 8wis those two stats alone blow my froglock scale chestplate and my sebilis scale tunic away. Although EM Bp is 28ac 13wis it's only barely better and it drops on the hate plane. Now for the boots, EM boots are 15ac 5dex 5int. look at these boots?! come on, these are a clerics dream, as I believe they were meant to be. I'm at 175 skill atm and will be 200+ asap, I'm actually making this armor to wear, and I don't think the prices of 3-7k would be far off on this stuff considering that it's counterpart, the new veliuos tailored eq sells for upwards on 5k for an equal (stat wise) piece.

To make this stuff

I'm a high-elf mastersmith on the Drinal server about to try some pieces of imbued elven chainmail(not plate, like this is), and let me tell you this stuff is so tough to make. For the plate you need 3-9 large bricks of mithril per piece just like normal plate armor, and that stuff is expensive; for the chain you need less mithril, but it's still expensive. Also, and ememeral blessed by a cleric of Tunare level 29 or higher is required for each attempt. Then for the temper(used instead of water) you need essence of moonlight from Castle Mistmoore, vial of swirling mists from either Najena or Steamfont, and morning dew foraged in Gfay or Lfay, and making the temper trivials at 165 brewing skill. Making a piece of this armor is a major undertaking, requiring the smith to either spend a lot of money out of hand or go on a long "quest" for ingrediants. 2-5k is a conservative estimate of the cost of imbued plate armor, I'd say more like 5-8k.

hehe, i'm a paladin with a paladin twink ;) if anyone on Quellious has the skillz to make stuff like that then send me a tell in game or post here :) AC 14 on the arms is not that bad, hell my Valorium arms has AC 16 :)

The same goes for enchanted/imbued Darkelven items :)

Well atleast you can do damage :) try playing a class that only has double attack and you will see how pitiful our damage is ;)

Such is the price for high AC ;)

If any bards warshiped Tunare, they would use these. But not much bards go with Tunare, not the smart ones, anyways.

Oddly enough, I have a bard, cleric, paladin and warrior who all worship Tunare and therefore can wear this stuff.

Of course, I cheated a bit... I made them assuming that the Koada'Dal stuff would be nice (once the recipes were finally working).

Given how nice the armour looks visually, I'll be more than happy to swap out lambent, cleric quest armour, or what few pieces or armour of Ro I have, once my smith finally succeeds on these pieces.

Nice Stuff

Nice Stuff... REALLY nice stuff for high elf smiths. I wonder what the markup is on these...
RE: Nice Stuff
# Jun 08 2001 at 7:09 PM Rating: Default
Expect them to cost about 2-5k pp, depending on how well you know the smith and if you know of an enchanter to enchant the metal.

These are mostly great twink items.. by the time they're affordable for non-twinks you have better stuff for -most- slots.. But this is really good stuff in terms of twinkage.

I will have to disagree. I had the money available, (been saving for a while mind you)replaced what I had, (I am still doing this piece by piece) and these are way better. If you work at it and know a high elf smith these are excellent for any high elf tunare worshipper. I happen to be a 37 cleric on EC'I and plan on keeping thes.. Until I find something that is WAY better (maybe something on SOL will be) I plan on keeping these well past plane raid level..
I just happen to be really lucky to have a fellow guildy have around 245 skill level at smithing.
