Still drops off of a Vicar of Hate. Dropped today, had no one who could use!

Now that Innoruk and the plane of hate has changed does this and other race specific items, like Hotof's bracer, Bloodstar pendant, Engineer's Ring and the others, drop any more?

and if this is the best, most constructive info you can post on these threads, then i'm afraid so are you.

need an AI filter on these things to prevent people from even posting this kind of garbage. just automatically "you cannot post that" when they try to.

Ok As it was myself who sent these in I thought i would comment... Im a 57 Paladin who got these when Innoruuk went down..

At present killing Innoruuk is very very hard, since his update a lot of servers still havent killed him at all, and of those that have only a few guilds on each are capable. So you wont see thses as common loot.

On our raid I was the only Erudite present ( We have an Erudite Cleric and a few Int casters but none were on the raid ) so I got the Pauldrons by default.

Now yes Imbued Granite Spaulders are nice.. but a:) I dont have them.. and b:) They are very heavy ( wt. 20 ). The Pauldrons are 2 AC less than my previous shoulders but in this case the extra Stats FAR outweight the loss of 2 AC... With Shield and Aegolism Im already over 1170 AC so losing about 3 real points hasent hurt.

Gaining 9 st However has added about 8 points to my ATK ( Equivalent of 2 levels advancement to a 50+ Paladin ). This helps...

To be honest if i had to give these shoulders an order of loot mine would be..

Enchanter
Wizard, Mage, Necromancer
Cleric
Paladin

Yes im putting myself far down the list.. but thats because better items are availible ( even though i dont have them )..

Oh and PS... I didnt create an Erudite for the Stalwart Shield.. my character is over 2 years old.. well before the Stalwart even appeared.

Yeah, and since when can Erudites be clerics either? Erudites get all the cool stuff. They are they only ones that can get the Fiery Avenger. If only I could get this neck piece I could solo Nagafen.

How can an enchanter get to level 60 without knowing anything about Erudites? Erudites are THE casters of Norrath. There isn't a single type of INT caster that an Erudite CANNOT be. I sincerely wish people would make sure they know what they are talking about before posting.

Erudites may be THE wizards of Norrath, but they are NOT THE chanters. High elves make FAR better enchanters than eru, period. 255 int is easy to get with gear (high end at least), 255 int and 255 cha is not. PLUS, HE enchanters got 15 more agi, and anyone that plays a chanter will tell you high AGI is VERY valuable when youre gettin quadded for 200. Helps you NOT get hit, period.

Just because eru start with 12 more int don't make them the best, hate to burst your bubble. Btw, I have a eru wiz :).

Um, you're level 60? You can't even spell phantasmist! Perhaps an Erud Pally or Int caster would love this, but clerics have better shoulder pieces that drop more than this.

Plane of Air quest shoulders and Weight of the gods are easier to get.

Since when CAN'T erudites be int casters. Erudites have been all int casters since the game came out. This is a nice item, but the poster is wrong.

My understanding is that evil Erudite guildmasters were originally in Toxxulia. Apparently the "Evil Erudites of Norrath" committee convinced SoE they needed a proper hometown. :)

No Erudite Paladin or Cleric would wear this utter trash over Imbued Granite Spaulders.

The overwhelming theme of the Innoruuk trash is that it has great stats (meaningless for meléé, of passing interest to casters) but average AC. For a melée where AC is everything this makes the Innoruuk stuff utter CRAP. Unless its a slot where the piece is traditionally low AC, even for melée.

So trolls (an earring) and gnomes (a ring) get a very nice piece for everyone but all the other races get caster only rubbish. And caster equipment means virtually nothing.

Hell, even for AC casters - Shaman and Clerics basically - these pieces are decidedly average when you consider the overall stats. I wouldn't switch an Erud Cleric or Paladin to this from IGS or even the PoS common drops.

LOL . . . sure he's a n00b, but he almost makes sense . . . almost. I don't see how a warrior can EVER feel he has enough AC. Especially an Iksar that can't wear plate.

At least Daakaera's not some anon flaming ******* though.

Iksar don't need to wear plate. And they can anyway, Verant screwed the pooch with Velious and almost every Plate armour in the continent is useable by the (now vastly superior) Iksar Warrior.

Any new Iksar Warrior should be taken to Thurgadin and equipped in a full set of Royal Velium Frosted Plate. It takes about 2 to 5 hours for the full set and is nearly superior to the Hate armour for non-Iksar (which is a pain to get).

As for stats, str, agi and dex are utterly meaningless. HP and Stamina are *nice* but never at the expense of more than a tiny amount of AC for large gains of HP. You can have all the HP you want but if that impairs your AC then you will die quickly.

We bigger, we regen too, we see in dark and we gots da warrior stats dat count, strength and stamina. Now if yous say dem make betta sk's, well me will agrees, troll no gots much in da head, but warriors? Yous gots ta rethink dat opinion me tink. Oh yeah, dis nice shoulder piece. Gud for int casters. Me tink erudite sk would love dis piece of equiptment. Wit dis, him could gets himself udda armors and ditch some of his int gear.

Strength is meaningless in Everquest and if the HPs are what matters, Ogres are superior to trolls. MASSIVELY.

But HPs aren't what matter the most (and the advantage of Trolls and Ogres is *tiny* - if you play at level 60 in a ToV guild you *will* have 185 Stamina from their normal AC equipment - AND THAT IS CAPPED HP WITH Primal Essence and Riotous Health).

Stamina isn't importat - AC is and Iksar warriors have *by far* the highest AC in the game as Velious made it so that Iksars can wear the best, top end armour that non-Iksars can wear.

guy -- get a CLUE -- there are TONS of erudite only gear -- cazic cleric erudites get clickable effect gear VERY early in the game -- fear being one of the effects (which is nice to get mob off u and flee while not in dungeon). i believe there are 4 pieces in that line which is rated at a lvl 30 quest but can be multi-quested so can be dont VERY early in the warrens levels.

not to mention the midinight sea mail coat which is 15ac 3str 3wis erudite pally/cleric only. does that sound planar? lol

they were pointing out the erudite only gear -- NOT -- erudite only PLANAR gear.

Erudites can be wis casters. Not many people play them. Verant would like to see more diversity, ie: Not only halfling druids, maybe a human now and then.

A lot of this Erudite gear is of the specific intention of getting more people to play those classes.

Every single Erudite pally I've seen has a shield of the staltwart seas. That means that the strategy to get people to play Erudite Pallys by giving them great gear is working. So stop whining about it. Thats what the balance is all about. You want to play a race/class combo with the best starting stats, expect that you wont get the best gear in the game. If you are willing to be a little more original and diverse, you will get rewarded for it.

Umm I'm sorry but I'm a Erudite Cleric.. from Paineel and my Wis is just fine thank you. Also Erudite are rare and fun to play. I had Adomite Epolats(sp?) for a long time from Lguk.. now I have the Obdulus Mantle from the Cube Crypt Caretaker(sp?). With all my items on me or in the bank I can get to 224 Wis... so no Wis is not a problem for the Erudite. With some item juggleing I'm at 200 Wis. I like item with big Wis on them so I can switch out my low wis item for AC/mana/resists. These Pauldrons would be a nice upgrade to what I have now.

I wore banded armor from level 2 to 32, and had an amazing number of people examining me to see what that pretty purple-pink robe is. Now I wear a certain shade of amber plate, and people still don't realize I'm a cleric.

The fun of an Erudite wisdom caster comes from the uniqueness. This is a ROLE-PLAYING GAME! 95% of the Erudites running around are some kind of INT caster clone.

Uh oh. I think I just bashed Erudite INT casters on a thread for Erudite-only armor.

No, seriously, Erudites make the best Int casters because the Int is so easy to get to 200, you can then poor more into important things like AC and stamina.

looks like each race gets an uber item from hate now, gnomes get a ring, trolls a belt, halflings get shoes, etc.,
they are giving somre races somewhat better stuff imho but then again some races dont have too much of a theme, so its hard to make something that all members would want
