Anyone know how much these go for on the karana server?

Woot,

Was auctioning for these just after patch when got a tell. I was gunna pay as much as 25k fer them her said he had a long time and thought that they were common so he sold for 6k.
Gloves
# Jun 04 2002 at 6:17 PM Rating: Decent
Well my opinion on the gloves. I want them and will keep them. Do you not grasp the worth of these gloves? Im a lvl 60 rog and main puller most time. I use arrows or daggers.

Well these gloves end the problem of (yer too high to shoot target). To me being able to pull round corners eliminating more adds or from abaove and below is worth keeping them for me.
Why are these so rare?
# Apr 13 2002 at 12:23 AM Rating: Decent
I don't understand why these rogue only gloves are so rare. Now I find out they put the Wild Lord's gloves on the mob that drops these. The druid and bard stuff drops all over the freaking place. Rogues can't quad kite like a druid. Nor can we solo like a bard. If we get caught alone with a dark blue mob or higher we are screwed. Does anyone have a logical idea as to why they are so rare?
RE: Why are these so rare?

"Nor can we solo like a bard."

I certainly hope you don't think bards are a soloing class - look at our songs! We are a primarally group oriented class. We can solo, by using charms and DoTs to kite, but overall, as a bard, I much prefer grouping. Why waste all that haste on one person? :P

/rant off

worth it?
# Mar 13 2002 at 4:52 PM Rating: Decent
uhm, try this..
a lot of people i've seen wearing this use FBSS as a source of haste. that gives you:

FBBSS: 0ac
mrylokars gaunts: 14ac
EFFECTS:
cancel magic
haste

well, this is not only an expensive combo.. but a pretty stupid one since hte cancel magic effect isnt worth anything imho..

try this instead (just took any belt..):

silverchitin handwraps: 4ac and some saves
spider fur belt: 10ac 40hp and i forget what else
EFFECTS:
haste

you loose the cancel magic effect, gain 40hp some saves and about 24kpp according to a few of thses prices..

I know your proly joking, but just to make sure. You know that these guntlets are trigered, wich means, by right clicking on them you will cancel magic on the mob or you and cancel magic ONLY cancels spell buff icon ( those that CAN be dispelled by you ). Second the haste on the FBSS is permanent wich means it CAN'T be dispelled.

I know you were just kidding, but theres LOTS of n00bs here that post things that makes no sense at all.

YOU have become better at Running!

Why are these good again???
# Jan 22 2002 at 1:06 AM Rating: Default
Besides the proc on em... I just dont understand whats so appetizing to a rogue with these... maybe as a backpack item to throw in every once in a while... but even that would be a long shot. I would rather get some GOOD gauntlets which had dex and str, maybe some other good stat raising points on it. This is just strait AC... which to a rogue... isnt that big a deal. Dont get me wrong, more AC is always welcome, but to a rogue unlike a warrior, id be willing so sacrifice the 2 AC for +8 str or + what ever to dex. Ive got a 24 rogue alt, and already im smart enough to realize AC isnt everything. Anyone that gets this is more or less for a status symbol, just being able to say, hey these are REALLY rare and guess what, i got em. Although i hate all scum anti-NBG looters, i do not fully disagree with rolling for this item. Personally as a rogue this would be cool status symbol to have, but i probably wouldnt wear em. 35kpp for a weapon proc? its not revive and its not a 100hp heal like the BP is... so ill pass, keep my 1.6kpp life savings i have. Reason for me being poor? im not greedy and if i cant use something, i dont demand it... I also dont sell stuff i do win, i give it to friends and guildmates. Course i wouldnt camp these things to find them, so I dont think ill have to deal with rolling these things off. Good luck to all that try to get em, but hand me some gem inlaid gaunts before you hand me these things... least GI gaunts allow me to BS harder and BS more often which is the rogues true calling in life... not to take hits.
RE: Why are these good again???
# Sep 20 2002 at 1:54 AM Rating: Decent
Well you folks who keep asking what is good about these...

It is a very low agro puller... you pull with a bow you will usually get more then one in a group of mobs. Pull using this effect and you will most likely only get the one you casted on... all depends on your level compaired to the mobs.

Also it doesn't do any dmg to the mob, so if the mob is one that summons... it won't summon you on the pull.

Anyway, that in itself makes these great gloves to use for pulling. Well worth at least having in your pack of spare gear.

I'm currently funneling ALL my hard earned bankroll and equipment from alt-characters into Mrylokar’s gear for my Rogue. For the last month I’ve been seeking the Gauntlets, BP & Legs [Go figure, Lol] I’ve seen the Gauntlets being sold in the EC tunnel (pre-Luclin) for 35-50kpp, now I believe an average price is around 20-25kpp [This is all on the Luclin Server]. Though, last night I finally got my pair for 15kpp! Good Luck to all who want these - Whether you spend long hours waiting for the lucky drop, or you empty your pockets for a good trade!

NBG
# Jul 19 2001 at 6:50 PM Rating: Default
I know most people hate NBG because they feel that melee's get all the items and casters get none. But considering that the majority of the player base play melee tyes does not neccesaarly mean that we all get good stuff. I love NBG becuase with out it i may never see an item like this. If i am lucky and get into the group and take it down i would want these because it would be impossiable for me to make the plat to buy them from a caster. I was listning to an argument in KC the other night because the rogue in the group was not aloud NBG on Locustlure that dropped. He was wielding 2 bloodpoints and didnt understand. It is people like that that ruin NBG standing. If you have better do not excpect to get it plain and simple. My most expensive item i have is 9k and that is regen bp that took me selling all my characters eq to get. Why should i sit by and have a caster win these and sell them for 25k when i am sitting there in dark mail guants. These melee items are really rare because of the number of melee'ers out there and the constant twinking done. Letting those who need loot is the only way some will ever get these items.
This NBG crap
# Jun 17 2001 at 11:12 AM Rating: Default
Need and can only wear is two different things. If a fbss drops everyone should get a roll on, like wise most others things in lower guk. If a reaver dropped in DT, and a sk was there I would say he gets it. Is like spells. If an item is 1 class specific that class should get it. Whether it be spells or class specific armor/weapons. That is why I like no drop items. 7 of my 13 non jewelcrafted items are no drop. I don't want class specific **** if someone in group doesn;t have it. Loot whores, can;t stand them. Go back to UO.

Got these my first time in the basment. was a guild group, had a book drop first, that went to the Druid. Then about 3 or 4 turnkeys later the gloves droped. since there was no rogue(had a Monk, Bard, Druid, and me a Shaman) we rolled. Somehow i rolled a 98, almost immediatly i started getting tells from people wanting to buy em, i finally sold em for 35K.
So yeah, people do have the money sitting around, and yeah these things do drop, but the are UBER rare.

course they have
# Jun 08 2001 at 11:16 PM Rating: Default
hehe noone has 25k sitting around? I got a pair of these yesterday (no rogue in the group) and I have a tell from at least five people who I havent even ever met asking to by them and I havent auctioned the even... Plenty of people have 25k in the bank and anyhow, 25k is also a trade value as a guide to what the gloves compare to so its still cool.

GREED!
# Jun 08 2001 at 6:54 PM Rating: Default
Just a thought, lets say everyone wasnt greedy and only got something if they needed it. Rogue goes with a full group, gets these because hes only rogue and needed. These people are a regular group and eventually they get to different zones and in the end everyone got an item they wanted and had no chance of losing. This is how the game was meant to work and why items are made class specific. Besides nonone has 25kpp sitting around so your not going to sell it! Dont be greedy and youll get what you want in the end.

Very rare. Killed the Turnkey a number of times, never seen these drop. /Sigh.

As to NBG... if you are a non-rogue and insist on randoming on this item when there is a rogue in the group who doesn't have these gloves... you are a sad, pathetic loot *****. Ditto for anyone doing the same with other class-specific loot. So nothing "good" drops for you there? NO? So are you getting XP? YES? Well, congrats, you've earned something for the night. What goes around comes around.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 06 2001 at 3:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) wtf.. this makes necros dots useless in PvP if a person had these... how gay is that.

# Jun 06 2001 at 11:36 PM Rating: Default
Most necro DoT's are poison/disease based which cannot be canceled, and even so, in a PVP situation chances are they would be feared and not able to use the effect anyway.

Rogues can't pvp? I beg to differ.
lvl 1 blind poison lasts for 43 secs tops.
thats LVL 1
oh and there is root poison that also drops there ac. I have killed several necro's with this stuff, so let me tell ya, think again before dueling a rogue, they can be mean in pvp even without backstab, but carful if they do get one in.

Just a note on the poisons you were talking about:The root poison is root and 50% slow, the blinding ones are blind and atk debuff. The blind is very effect in pvp, lasts for 72 secs for second tier one. There are also mana draining poisons. With the second tier of this one for my 47 rogue steals 265 mana. Not a lot but helps. Also there is a nasty snare poison, get a 50% snare on the tier 2 one at level 47. Many other very useful poisons. Also in pvp instill doubt works very well for me, many times fearing the opponent several times in one fight. All in all rogues not too bad in pvp in my opinion.

NBG
# Jun 06 2001 at 1:24 PM Rating: Decent
Perhaps this is not the right forum, but Mebe thinks that NBG works when there are good drops for all classes in the group. For example, NBG in the Hole usually makes perfect sense because there are items for tanks, items for wisdom based casters, and items for intellegence based casters and they drop off of almost everything (albiet rarely). Perhaps it does not work if there is a rogue or monk hanging with you.

NBG does not work in camps where the drop is clearly for one class. For example, you have a level 20 group in the basement of Kurn's tower and you are camping the iksar berzerker club -- this is totally a tank item, but you need a full group to camp it. There is no corresponding drop for the other casters so you need to roll for it.
RE: NBG
# Jun 06 2001 at 5:47 PM Rating: Decent
What I've always done is NBG unless the character in question already has the item, an equivalent item, or a better item; then roll away. I, personally, pretty much avoid camps where the items which drop are not useable by one of my three main characters. Also, I defer my wishes for an item for an alt, if someone of the appropriate class is currently in the camp; I figure more will drop eventually. About the only time I go to an area which drops nothing I can use is when I'm trying to help out a friend or guildmate. I personally just don't like the concept of camping something simply to sell it later, especially not when one is randoming it away from someone who could actually use it.

Just my two cents, and others can do whatever :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 06 2001 at 12:27 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Man regarding NBG groups, some fo you posters are just angry sad little monkeys. The way you react to such posts shows your inherent gred over the needs of others. If no one needs it roll for it, but don't be pissed cause someone tries to invoke NBG. *sigh* Angry angry monkeys.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 06 2001 at 7:19 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I can't believe people actually fall for NBG... I have news for you. I need everything... All of it! My need is greater than yours. I need your stuff all of it right now!
RE: The Gaunlets
# Mar 19 2002 at 12:34 PM Rating: Decent
Well as a Rogue I really hadn't considered them for pulling... My days of pulling have long since ended because so may other classes are just better at it... But, I would like to see this application in action and if I can pull w/o chain aggroing everything in the zone... then God bless it I want some too hehe ;-)
RE: The Gaunlets
# Jun 06 2001 at 1:07 PM Rating: Good
I have a pair of these gloves, and they're invaluble in regular play. I use them to pull across long distances, they beat out my throwing daggers from my bracer in range, and I can pull summoners without them summoning me, since I do no damage.

The cancel magic only takes one buff, it's a pulling tool, and not a pvp tool.
