What also needs to be added to this item, as well as the other alloy items, is that all this shiznit is also a greater light source. I just thought you guys would find this helpful.

The blackened alloy waistband (AC 7, wt 2.0, no stat bonuses) and the blackened alloy bracer (AC 8, wt 1.5) also drop (not listed here as of this posting). But from what I can tell there is no blackened alloy upgrade of the blackened iron eye totem, collar, or boots. As before, there is no blackened earring or ring. Anyone who knows different please post here.

Ok, the collar has been found. It's AC 7 and weight 1.5. Now we just need the blackened alloy eye totem and the blackened alloy boots and our upgrade list will be complete.

What most commonly drops the BA coif? THis site says attainable at lvl 20. I am a lvl 24 paladin. Think I could get this on my own?

Well, maybe if you got a full group 24-30 you could get it. Go down to the 4th floor of runnyeye, i dont think Lord has ph, we found him in room with fountain all 4 times we killed him. We were clearing out all of the 4th floor, and actually ended up with sweet loot, too bad lots of stuff was lore. Oh, it was 3 people we did it with, me 42 Enc, 55 war and 37 Druid. Xp was pretty good on stuff that was actually blue still, and we cleared the place with ease.

The lord can spawn anywhere a Pickclaw destroyer can spawn. Which means almost anywhere on the forth floor. I have yet to see him spawn in either of the two rooms off the water (round room and caster room). Best way to hunt here is with a Druid or Ranger use them for giving the bearing of the named spawns. Then start pulling to the corner of the fountain room near the bank (left corner as you face the door to the bank. Less wanderers and only 1 spawn) or the hallway off the fountain room. Kill every caster type and destroyer/veteran, and you will get the named soon enough. And yes the casters are very tough. I would recomend at least a cleric and a Druid/Shamen. (BTW the veterans also drop the BA long sword) This is a great place for monks to hone those pulling skills.

Well, as of the patch last night they ruined my main attraction to this item. They added a graphic! (((( On a Wood Elf it looks like a tan leather skull cap with black chain hanging down, I liked it MUCH better with the look of nothing on.

I was checking out the place see what had changed and hoped to see if i could get some good loot. Dont bet on getting anything here if you are under 45 for a couple weeks cause its farmed like hell. Luckily the lord popped in me as i was leaving and he proceded to kick my *** at lvl 35! He attacks like giants in fm or so. Luckily i had a lvl 50 ranger friend help me out and i got the crown and some other belt with 8ac 5sta. Pretty sweet for just happening to run into him. He spawned in the large room near the bank with the spikes in it. Also spawned near the bank area and along the water. it appears to be pretty random. Hope this helps

the lord was an easy kill
# Jun 02 2001 at 1:27 PM Rating: Default
As a lvl 52 wizard this was an easy kill -- he died with two nukes and didnt touch me. I was surprised to loot such a nice item off such an easy to kill MOB.

Lord Picklaw has about 2k of hp, and hits at 78-84 max per swing when carrying BA longsword. Being a level 52 wizard that DIED to him because I was cocky thinking I could kill him with 30m and no gate spell up if i was wrong (1900dmg, resisted root, insufficiant mana, loading, please wait....) don't count him as a gnoll pup.

Went back in and killed him quickly. He dropped BA longsword, BA coif, and BA gloves.

RE: the lord was an easy kill
# Jul 13 2001 at 6:37 PM Rating: Good
Rosanna I should certainly hope that Lord Pickclaw was an easy kill for a 52 level wizard as he is only a 32-33 level spawn. Were I you I would not be bragging of such an easy feat. Perhaps you would fell more comfortable in Qeynos Hills killing gnoll pups. You should be able to handle those fairly easily as well

I think you missed the point of the wizard, this item is really nice, and to have it drop off such a cake mob for higher levels is awesome. dont think everyone is arogant just cuz they talk about dropping a mob many lv's lower than them, he was just saying it was an easy kill for a nice item.

oh and nice gnoll pup comment, bet ya wish you had thought of it first yea?

This is almost as good as the Golden Efreeti Turban; a rare drop from the Noble Djorn in the Plane of Air.

"Inconceivable!"

Golden Efreeti needs to be upgraded anyways- it is no longer useful post-RoK and SoV, imho.

/agree with u sir. Efreeti is pretty tough f00ker too. My 60 ranger got an efreeti war bow the other weekend in air and it is rotting in the bank....150 delay is like the weighted axe of range attack. **** poor for such a tough guy...
RE: Itemflation =/
# Jun 16 2001 at 5:17 AM Rating: Decent
If your a 60 ranger...why the hell are you letting that bow sit in the bank....that is pretty much the best bow for trueshot...the massive dmg on it will put your crits easily over 1kdmg. get boon shissar fleeting quiver ...you should have swiftwind...so you end up with 120% bow haste and a 255 dex. Turns that bow into 50/68 bow. and at 255 dex w/ maxed skill in bow....the effreti war bow would be awsome dmg out put. So with the right add ons the "**** poor" bow turns into one of the most damaging weapons in the game. also the weighted axe is very useful to warriors when they use thier riposte discipline. I doubt you even know what disciplines are.......either that or you don't think.....
RE: Itemflation =/
# Aug 04 2001 at 4:35 AM Rating: Decent
I wouldn't be the one complaining about "not thinking" haste does not go to 120%. Maxed out it is 100% and even then can only bring a weapon down to 1/2 it's haste, so the bow would not become 50/68 it would be 50/75 .... and that's still pretty ******, unless you were using it to pull. Anyways.. get your stats straight before you post =).... I like your energy though
RE: Itemflation =/
# Oct 26 2001 at 12:03 AM Rating: Default
Actually.... he is right. Fleeting Quiver haste,.. or Bow Haste for that matter will stack on top of bard/spell and item haste AND it can exceed 100%.
So concievably with Swiftspirit effect and Speed of the Shissar, he would be close to 100%, and that is then further reduced by the Fleeting Quiver. That's why the fleeting quiver costs about 4-5k on Xev. I've heard of a 60 Ranger with Max Archery do upwards of 9000dmg just from his Trueshot Disc and this bow.
RE: Itemflation =/
# Aug 06 2001 at 4:15 AM Rating: Default
The wise still argue, but most agree that max. *haste* is 200% (equals 50% delay reduction roughly) with a minimum possible delay of 10 (no weapon can have less than 10 dl).
As you should know haste does *not* reduce delay, it adds attack speed. So at 200% haste you get twice the number of attacks (therefor can be interpreted as half the delay)
RE: Itemflation =/
# Aug 21 2001 at 7:29 AM Rating: Default
And... monks can actually get below 10 on their delay, they get down to 10/9 or something.

Lord Picklaw
# Jun 01 2001 at 12:36 PM Rating: Decent
He conned blue to my 36 warrior but massacred me. I was already done 1.5 bubs but I think the Lord would still have won. He was hitting up to 85. Anyway that was in the first few hours after the patch. Now the zone is totally farmed by 50+ players. There were no spawns when I was there last time because they killed everything within 10 seconds of spawn. Makes you think that looting caps on zones make sense, when lvl 50s are killing things 30 levels below them.
RE: Lord Picklaw
# Sep 05 2001 at 10:45 PM Rating: Good
At 52 I still wander down here occasionally, it's a nice way to kill some time while waiting for raids and stuff to start up. However I think you'll find that the pharming phrenzy is over now, most of the time this zone is empty (on 7th Hammer) even during peak US times.

I can understand peeps in the low 20's to maybe the mid 30's comming back for some decent stuff. Lvl 50's though is really lame!! At least farming at 50 is lame. Just comming to see what's new is understandable. Hell we are all curious by nature. This shows though why Verant can't really throw the low to mid lvls a bone.

As for the lord coning blue but hitting for 85 and owning lvl 35+ I can only say WOW!! Looks as if Verant put a Velious MOB into an old world dungeon ;).

add this to that and you got some serious resist stuff coming from there good zone now IMO
Lord
# Jun 01 2001 at 7:19 AM Rating: Default
The Lord and other named mobs drops most Black Alloy with a few minor pieces off non-named mobs. I, at lvl 45 have a terrible time soloing this green to me mob. I lose 2-3 bubs of life and most my mana with one fight getting me down to 57 hps. He spawns in various places on the vendor/banker lvl of RE. By various I mean it is random, and even with track theres no guarantee you will find him. I have gotten this, two cloaks (8ac), BABS 24/39 2hs, BA Longsword 10/29 1hs, and two BAMs in just 3 kills so drop amounts are also variable.

Good luck in there!
Beautiful drop

It should not be attainable at level 20. A level 48 monk nearly died trying to solo the lord, he is underconned.

A 48 monk nearly died from the lord? I soloed him a few times with my 34 lvl necro. He shouldn't pose a threat to anyone over lvl 40 I think.

Hard luck Ranger I guess:)

The answer is B. The Lord IS a super-tough guy, especially for melee classes to solo. He routinely hits in the 70s-80s and has a boatload of hitpoints for his level. I think the Mountain Giant comparison is valid - I'd say he's roughly equivalent to a Brae, maybe even a Craig.

Moral of the story - bring a healer and it's a heck of a lot easier. And well worth it.

BI Coif upgrade
# May 31 2001 at 11:04 PM Rating: Default
What do you mean it drops something viable for once? The BI Coif (was crown) was almost a required item for dragon raids until Velious came out with better. They used to sell for 50pp because they were so easy to get. This is a small upgrade (1 point to all stats, +2ac) on that and the drop rate is the same.

I wonder how long it will be before people start selling this for 1k

Drops off Lord Picklaw, not everytime. He and other named gobbies now have random spawn points in bank/merchant vincinity. Seems any picklaw/gobbie can be PH. General area will be heavily farmed due to resists on this and the new medallion.
