rolepaying, badplaying
# Feb 03 2003 at 8:52 AM Rating: Decent
ok, roleplaying ONLY EXISTS because it ENHANCES some peoples FUN. if roleplaying creates such a bridge between you and other REAL people, then STOP. you can still act like a harbinger of death, but dont train newb paladins because you are roleplaying, because YOU are the only person getting off on that. maybe, save the newbs, then comment on how pathetic and weak good races are, and perhaps if they hated more (change that for your approiate deity) they could have handled the mob without dying. maybe even act mercenary, if you are totally unable to behave like a real person, demand at least a small amount of cash for corpse recovery, and anyway you dont HAVE to help every dumbass that has killed himself.

also, evil doesnt mean "i hate everyone and will kill you all, muwahaha" it can also mean "ill help you, because you'll owe me one then i will attain tools, er, allies, and one day ill be so poweerful ill take over the world".

and on the farming issue, need before greed ALWAYS, if someone needs the mob for a quest they come first, NEVER KS OR TRAIN, but if you got there first, arnt ks'ing, and arnt taking an unfair portion of the mobs ("whole zone is CAMPED") you have as much damn right to the stuff as any idiot who has **** for clothes and no exp. so quit yer whining, cuz "wah im lower level so i deserve everything" does not hang with ANYONE.

I had no trouble getting a couple sets of these. At least on the Bristlebane server, Runnyeye hardly ever has more than 4 or 5 people in the zone. At 42, I pretty much can travel anywhere in the zone I want. Even got a BABS from the Battlelord (I think that's his name) that was spawned for at least 10-15 mins with no one camping him.

All blackened Alloy Armor drops off the Pickclaw Destroyers. The Coif, Mail, medallion, and swords are random drops from Battlelord Paluk, Battlewizard Unak, and Lord Pickclaw.

All of the blackened alloy armor (except the coif,I believe) can drop off any of the goblins. However, realistically, I would hunt on the bottom floor of runnyeye, as the odds of getting one higher up are slim (though it does happen). I have seen the blackened alloy drop off named and some of the higher level regular guys on the bottom floor (destroyers?, something like that).

I'm not sure this is accurate. I spent 3 days farming BA armor in Runnyeye and the only mobs that I know for sure drop the black ALLOY (not the much less desireable black IRON) are the Pickclaw Destroyers and the named mobs on the 4th level. The Pickclaw Foeslicers and Foechoppers do occassionaly drop a piece of BI but I have never seen them drop BA. The 4th floor caster types (Pickclaw Slayspells and Zadspeakers) might drop it, but I can't say for sure.

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 02 2001 at 1:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey all, guess what??? I quit EQ 2 months ago to play Camelot. And now I am coming back... Most of you don't like me, but at least I roleply my necro. Can't say the same for everyone. Paladins being jerks, Necromancers using the correct language of "bourgeoisie" and being helpful and all. Arf. I am Mortiss Coldhearted, notice the "COLDHEARTED" thing? I am mean, I don't care about anyone. I am a necromancer, not a druid, not a ranger, not a paladin. I am a Necromancer, lord of the dead. Plague, misery, treachery, lies are that many words that suits me. So please, if you think I am not playing my necro well, then thats sad. Dark elves cleric that heal the poor high elf paladin being killed... ARF, such nice roleplay. Oh yeah, some of you will come here and say, well I am a DE Cleric and I am good, there is an exception, like Drizzt, the thing is, all the DE are exceptions. Double arf. Oh well. Im back in the game. And ill be meaner, crueler and eviler (not sure those words exist but you get the picture right?) than ever. See you in game.

Just because you can get this easily and for any price u want, doesn't mean the rest of us can. I for one can afford this stuff at the price it is now, and its good armor for my lvl. Any higher and I couldn't, and I know a lot of others couldn't too. This is why verant made it drop on low creatures. To give us lower ppl without tons of KPP a chance to get some decent armor! don't be such a prick!

It's getting close to time for VI to expand the Warrens loot rules so that low green = NO LOOT! ANYWHERE/ANYTIME. Before I get flamed by the necros and tradeskillers, let me say I am one myself and when I need silk/bone chips/pelts/whatever I auction for em and if that doesn't work I create or use an alt that gets experience from the farming.
RE: Still camped to hell
# Aug 08 2001 at 6:25 PM Rating: Decent
Doesn't seem to be camped all to hell now, no suprise, it's been open a while, the novelty has worn off and the market flooded thanks to the farmers. My wife and I went to Runnyeye last night and the most people we saw was 4 when we first got there and by 6:30pm PST we were the only 2 there and it stayed that way for an hour, when we left at 8pm PST there was only one other person there. Just like pre-change pretty much abandoned, even during peak hours.
I found that funny because people cried about the farmers when it opened yet now that the farmers & the high levels that were curious have moved on but the crybabies haven't moved in (My theory is those that cried loudest were farmers that arrived behind the other farmers and got pissed! :P)
farmers welcome!
# Jun 17 2001 at 10:57 PM Rating: Default
Oh i agree that farmers are MORE than welcome to come check out what drops in a new/revamped zone. They can come with their lower level ( and twinked to hell) alts and earn the stuff like everyone else. Or theyre more than welcome to bring their high level toons and BUY the stuff from those earning it. I hate hearing all the farmers ***** sayin "i have right to be here too" when what they really mean is "i have the power to snub you out of the kills so i can farm this stuff all night to sell to everyone else for a high profit who CANT come in here because im farming". Ive learned to deal with farmers. I mean used car salesmen play EQ too and you cant fault them for ******** us after a long day of ******** everyone else on a necessity.

Farming is not much fun for the farmer who gets no challenge or experience out of the effort, nor is it fun for the one who goes without while its being camped. I think farming has its place in the game, but if you've already got a set and are not getting experience, it's not very classy to deprive others when you can be getting money in other ways.

Unfortunately, farming has become a part of the game which many dislike (but probably also do ourselves to some extent). Verant has offered some solutions to the farming situation however:

- No Drop items are a nice counter-measure
- Trivial Loot Code also helps combat this (which is active in all zones on FV server)

Wow!! You are harsh on the farmers ;). I'm not sure why in this case. The spawn points are random so they can't camp the good loot droping MOBS. I could understand this sort of anger if they were KSing you but I agree the "farmers" do have just as much right to hunt and loot in runnyeye as you or I.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 19 2001 at 11:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) My, you're such an *******. I am a lvl 40 necro on Xev and if I want to go get a few items in RunnyEye, Ill go. #Anonymous, Posted: Jun 05 2001 at 1:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey, you don't have to always say - "Oh those rangers and druids are always KSing with track" Those lousy bards are the ones that get just about every freaking skill in the game! Plus they have their Mach 8 speed song so you could, like, walk towards something and a level 45+ bard would fly in and KS some mob hes never seen before (ooo boy!) and get some loot thats crap to him. If these people haven't got anything better to do, why don't they make a uber-twink cleric and go around ressing folks? - Soontar Cerulien 25 Ranger on Drinal

Well, you cant cast Selos (mach 8 speed song) indoors. But a druid, ranger, shaman could cast it outside the zone and have sow speed for awhile. so a bard would olny have a real advantage over the poor shaman who gets no tracking skill

Black chain. Got a full suit this morning Minus the Vambraces. Not a bad look on my baby Iksar.

Its a little more grayish than the gnome skin stuff. looks like black banded, MUCH lighter than BI. Very easy to obtain if RE is not crowded.

Me and My mage buddy got tunic, legs, bracer, 3xneck, 2xbelt, 2xgloves, 2x cloak in only a few hours of clearing out bank area. Looks like any gob can drop it. Did not get legs or Tunic from, BattleLords or LordPickClaw, so just kill it all.

Good luck

You may have noticed, the zone was changed recently, so us 'High level' folks came to check it out. Why wouldn't we come look at what's new, and whack a couple of the new mobs? We're just as entitled to enjoy new material as someone who is 30 lvls below us.

If you ever get to your high 50s you will discover that its nice to take a break from Seb etc every once in a while and go goof off solo or with a friend in a low-lvl zone. That's one of the benefits of working so hard to get to that lvl, is so you can go dominate zones that used to own you as a lowbie ;)

Sightseeing is fine; slaughtering everything in sight for hours locking out the 15-25 crowd who would get great exp here is not. At 35 I can get exp on a FEW non-named spawns here, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't at 37 or higher.

Ah well. At least the Named seem to pop in random places, so reducing the ability of Farmers... although a Ranger or Druid can probably still run around quickly enough to KS if they were enough of an a-hole...

It was the same way with the warrens when it opened, now it's empty. Wait a week, or two at the most and Runnyeye will be too.
RE: FARMERS!!!!!!!!
# Jun 10 2001 at 9:52 AM Rating: Default
Not at all the same way.
The warrens have a level-limit for the dropping of the loots, that's why the farmers have deserted the place.
Runnyeye doesn't.
You can be sure it'll be farmed for way more than 2 weeks, until a point where the loots will dramatically drop in prices.

Took my 32 cleric in runnyeye the other day, no my way to misty, and didn't see a single farmer. only people in the zone were two teen levels pulling stuff to the zone line. I blasted a few greens on the other side, just to check them out. no drops of anything but low cash. Oh well, looks like the farmers have gone! BTW, someone had sold the alloy legs and mail to a merchant in EK (by the zone), and I picked up both for about 70pp total. Mail is no big shakes over banded, 1 ac difference, but the legs are really nice ac. Also nice look.

You are sadly right, I came with my 30th season ranger, just by curiosity, and found nothing to kill as the place was full of level 55+ peoples (as if they had nothing better to do).
Sheesshh... I hate those guys, they are ruining the game for lower level peoples.
It reminds me the 57 necro in SRo, killing everything on sight to make the AC spawns. He never wanted to let us kill the few Sand Giants that popped with my party (he didn't even respond to our tells).
RE: FARMERS!!!!!!!!
# Aug 17 2001 at 6:57 PM Rating: Default
I think i may have met that jerk u r speaking of. He kept shouting for us not to kill the giant sand scarabs and talking about AC. When we asked why we couldn't kill the scarabs he didn't respond ,not to tells or anything, so i went about my business and killed scarabs. I finally learned that AC refers to cyclops.

Allright, stupid high-level-I-have-no-life-farmer.
There's a large difference between exploring a new zone and wipping out the Lord during 3 or 4 hours to get his new shiny toys.
It's not about jealousy, it's about fairness and fun. What fun is there for a group to find nothing to kill in a zone and wait that this guy, 20 more leveled than the spawn has finished his camp (thus killing anything on sight to force the spawn) ?

Bah !
Farmers like YOU are a curse.

You "high-level-I-have-no-life-farmer" have ruined your own game, you will not ruin mine !

dood don't be a jackass, you're here for the same reason the farmers are. you want the drops, and you're just pissed off cuz they're clearin out the zone. dont gimme that im here for xp bullsh** cuz there's plenty of other zones you can go to for xp at this lv. If you're so angry bout the farmers, LEAVE the zone. Im tired of your kind of people, ******** about everything you can't have. you probly asked someone for the drops and they said no so you have to come flood the boards about how mad you are about "farmers"

now on an information side. The ba armor drops off almost every mob near the bank, its not a common drop so multiple kills will be needed, took me 3 hours to get a full suit for my litte one, but i think it was worth it. the only thing i didn't get was the head peice im told it drops of that lord pickclaw or whomeven it is. I can't be certain on that because i didn't wanna go kill him. the Armor looks cool, kinda looks like black vines on a woodelf ranger.

so go farm and **** of a lowbee its fun

Oh you ******* I N G jerk! You make me sick. What is wrong with a lvl 60 character with running around a new zone and kill stuff in it? Those people are curiosity driven. Of course they can buy stuff off from lower people who actually camp and make exp off those mobs, but why in the heavens would they pay for stuff they can aquire all alone. Then again, youll say "Yeah but lvl 60 have plenty of money". My answer to this is "Stupid jerk, have you seen Bill Gates give millions of dollars cuz hes rich?" Lamer, its not because you gots tons of cash that you actually have to give it. Ive worked hard for my 20k and I'm going to spend it on stuff I'll need. Im not goin to KS, but if I get there first, then why would I let my place to anyone else? Why??? I pay 9,95$ per month like anyone else, so just $%"% off will ya?

I can understand taking a few kills to see what drops, but if your 55+ why are you camping a zone this weak, when you can be getting better gear in a higher lvl zone that the low lvl guys can't get access to. I say let the small guys get the small stuff and the big guys get the big stuff, because the small guys can't get the big stuff so you really make it hard on them. I know you don't mind making the game annoyingly difficult for small guys; Maybe it is because you were a nerd in school and got picked on alot, or your making up for your small genitals and your lack of a love life with other people, besides your six pack of vasaline and your spatula. But taking it out on other people that are asking you to lighten up and try to make the game enjoyable to all (since you so quickly pointed out that we all pay the same to play then we should all have equal right to a fair chance at gear for our lvl) and when you swear in public chat at other people, your just proving what a insecure little child you are.

And by the way Bill Gates does give tens of millions of dollars away each year to charity, scholarships, and the like, including an brand new computer lab to a high school complete with 45 brand new Pentium III 800Mhz computers. So before you make reference about Bill Gates why don't you STFU and get your facts strait and stop talking out your backside. Just because YOU are to greedy to share the wealth; DO NOT! say others are too because you don't know JACK. End of sentence
P.S. sorry to waste your time people with this flame but i could'nt in good conscience let this guy with no scruples or principles keep talking SMACK!

Lol, I have seen lvl 60 people all the time in Runney Eye or wherever. They have been lvl 1 as well. Since everyone pays 10 bucks a month, they should have access to all zones in the game. Eventually they will all leave you moron. Speaking of small genitalia, people always speak of matters they have seen or actually live or experience. Bah! What loser Mortiss is, just because the previous poster, Palladia made a good point and beat down his rather inane post, he resorts to nervous 'lol's and the childish "i know you are but what am i?" to solve a reasonable argument put forht on Palladia's part. There really should be an age limit, 18 and above to play EQ, or at least 15 and above so 14 year olds like Mortiss can go back to playing Magic or Pokemon card games.

Also pretty good for a warrior until they can get crafted. The set is a nice AC upgrade from banded on all pieces, the legs being one of the best. Shaves several stones of weight off too (get to carry more loot). Price on this stuff is really reasonable. Of course fine plate is better if you've got the cash, or skill to buy or make.

There is also dark muslin armor that drops here that is very nice for low casters and monks. Much better than raw silk.
