Don't hold your breath. 9% haste is not real impressive, and 300pp is an awful lot, seeing as how FBSS sometimes gets sold for 500pp and its 21% haste.

Ok you say these be good item for newbies if higher levels could farm them for them. Well all the farming I seen highers do for lowers is eather for an alt or if they far for other people they carge out the butt look at this price 2000 pp. Thats realy reasonable and no its not cause you can only cary one of these from Runnyeye its cause high people want lots of pp for anything that might be useful to anyone under there level. Ever notice how stuff is like so dam expensive when you need it yet so cheap when you go to sell it? Its cause all the highs farm the stuff and by the time you can get to that item there farming something new. So lore and no drop items are the best thing in this game I think there should be like 90% no drop except common items for armor and weapons I mean ofcoarse. :) Food and other items should be drop and non lore. Hey what do I know I don't crunch numbers for a living or work for the the treasurey of america god knows if they were in charge our prices would drop haha yea right they would be worse so i guess we should be a little happy. Anyhow I went through runnyeye tonight I think this zone is way under used nowadays. everyone gets tied up in new expantions. I mean god at level 17-22 group in there could get some decent armor for themselfs. a rog/rng/shm and other chain class wearable 16 or was it 17 armor item is dang good at those levels but everyones twinks now so what do they know about good armor that you actualy earn.
Great Lowbie Item....not.

I just love the way anything remotely farmable is 'LORE'...these would be great for high levels to sell to low levels if they weren't lore. But then, that would 'help the community' and 'make good rapport between high and low levels' which isn't what everquest is about. Thanks again, 'powergamerz'.

if your level 49 are these gloves 50% haste?
RE: lvl 49
# Jul 26 2004 at 11:06 PM Rating: Decent
Nope. Haste is capped at 9%. That level thing is for the Spell haste, not haste on items, which is always set at a fixed %, regardless of level. ;)

Listen, HELOOO, 45s can defenetly not farm lguk. There are so many ads, and if u go to frenzied, 6 will jump u along with the frenzied, they all average bout lvl 40, and getting there is a pain. Believe me, i couldn't do it as a 51 warrior. This item is much much much more easy to get. True, it's rare, but much more soloable then the frenzied.

9, it says it at the top.

EDIT: I realize this is an old post before it was easily notable what the haste % was. This is just for people who may not see the % listed at the top to avoid confusion.

# Mar 16 2003 at 6:27 PM Rating: Default
ok so i bought these today for 600pp from this desperate guy. Keep in mind that at the bazaar i looked them up and they were around 1.5k. So just for giggles i do a PC in the nexus. And what do you know someone tries to tell me that it is only 2% haste and is worth no more than 100pp. LMAO!! So i just ignored him and whadya know a few min later he wants to buy them from me for 100pp!!! Is that a scam or what?!!! 2% haste!! He could have made his lie better by saying 5% haste!! LOL

2% would be a somewhat believable number. Everyone knows how Verant likes to make all the stats match on equipment, and everything else on this glove is a 2 or -2.

1500pp for this item is rediculous, since nowadays (at least on my server) that's about what an FBSS, with 21% haste, goes for.

9% haste, why bother?! Honestly I think the 600pp you paid is STILL too much.

What?

No. The haste info you're reading is for the spell "Haste". Worn Haste effect items are fixed values. This, for example, is 9%.

Well I was there in Runnyeye last night. I go there every so often to see what named is up and to try to find some stuff to sell. Ended up finding the Moldmaster on track. Am a 51 druid so as you can imagine he died a horrible death lol. It is true though i had about 4 adds during the battle, Luckily I was able to get upheaval off twice and killed them all. Looted the body and what to my wondering eye's should appear? The gloves WOOT. They found a home on my level 13 Darkelf Warrior. Killing him takes standard druid dungeon tactics. Root, dot, nuke, root, nuke repeat. Only takes about one drifting death, two starfires and maybe 3 root's to kill him. Just make sure you have a gate spell handy, Just in case you get to many adds and need to pop out. Also even though everything is green to you if you have killed several of the sporalis they will jump you if they see you. Keep camo up while you track and time your assault to limit the amount of wonderers around. And there will be alot of wanderers.

Just walked my 51 monk into Runnyeye to grab this guy's shield and scout around a bit for my new Enchanter's prospective next hunting grounds. Figured I'm about twice the level of anything in this place, so it should be a walk through Care Bear park. Not quite.

Got to this guy and jumped on him. I was at half life (from killing the halfling guards on the way) but he's only 25. Not a problem, right? I solo level 40 mobs at half life for xp after all.

Nope. Burnt myself down quick on his damage shield (I was dealing more damage to myself than he could hit me for [had the sword btw]). He got me with one dot, but I couldn't really measure how much damage it did since I was going down so fast from the DS.

Backed off, feigned, played a few games of gems, and mended to full. Took him on again (despawned and had shield now, which made me happy). Pummelled him down pretty quick but was still at half life when he turned and started running. And this guy runs FAST. Couldn't catch him. He got up onto the second floor, dodged in out and of hallways really quickly, and eventually lost me. So I pulled an old tactic and sat down, figuring he'd come back and fight then. He did, but not until after he cast a few heals and brought himself up to half as well.

When he charged back, I took him out, but I honestly think it would have just been a stalemate if he'd ran again. I don't know how I could have possibly ever caught him. Nukes hit twice the second time for 97 and he slowed me a TON. That might be part of the problem everyone else says is with the regen. I didn't notice him healing alot other than with heal spells, but when you get slowed on top of their regen, I can see how it might have been difficult to mass up the damage to finish him off.

~Personally, I think undercons in the game are really DUMB. If a level twenty-six character can kill this guy, he deserves alot better than blue xp.

What's the haste on the gloves, btw?
Level 20? Ya RIGHT
# Nov 04 2002 at 5:45 PM Rating: Default
Someone's gotta be kidding me. To get these gloves to drop you'd need a FULL group of level 20's. I took my 30 druid to Runnyeye to try and get some of these, and druids, great soloers though they are will notice a real problem with this guy. His resists are really high and he's a caster with a solid Root and Slashed me (with approx. 400 AC) for 60 consistently.
I think the best way to get these things is to get a good tank and then nuke the crap out of him AFTER he's been snared (He moves fast). I'm gonna go try for them again, with guildie help this time.

No time for fancy words, or a fancy saying. I'm logging on EQ now to do some major Slaying!

Silly druid. I know i cant solo in a dungeon very easily unless everything is green. I almost go killed at 53 in Runneye with my wizard. No AC/HPs plus damage limited to how much mana you have makes it tough.

in the past week, I've killed Moldy five times....he's dropped the sword once, the funky shield four times (three times let it rot) and last time......the gloves! My monk will like these till he can get a FBSS. Someone above posted they are 12%haste, a guildie says 9%. Can anyone larify this for sure? Had someone offer me 1500pp when they dropped and I said no......this is a great twinky item IMHO.
Talk about karma...

I had spent many a night on the named critters in Runnyeye. Now I only go back to have a little fun (and maybe try to find an Alloy Medallion).
As uncommon as old Moldy is, and as rare as he carries these gloves, I never saw them drop during my XP hunts.
Cut to 20 levels later, and a guildy distresses over going LD in Runnyeye and coming back DEAD (I guess the NPC AI doesn't know how to keep a 52nd Lvl Bard alive against critters 15-20 Lvls lower :-( ). I tried to find a cleric willing to travel to rezz her, but the three zones I hit had no takers. I head to Runnyeye to offer her company, to find her partnered with a 56th Lvl warrior, and just slaughtering anything that moved. Since they had things well in hand I went to check Moldy's spawn points, and LO! there he was. And wouldn't you know he had the gloves on him!?
I offered the gloves to my guildmate, since they would have been hers no doubt before the unfortunate LD incident, but she said she'd stick with her Singing steel gauntlets. Looks like my young Paladin's about to get a bit faster :-)

can a lvl 41 nec solo him?
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 27 2002 at 8:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok your a necro the best soloist in the game and your wondering if you can solo a mob 11lvls lower than you? What do you think he isn't a undercon so you decide if you can't solo him i'd advise never ever ever attempt to solo agian.
DO still drop
