OMFG!!!
Finally a ranger can stop getting beat on in battles. If only this could be bought....I'd sell every single item i have for this..(wouldn't even come close to the cost this would be if not no drop but oh well)
this bow + tolans bracer = ranger fighting like they should... with a bow!

OK Enuff Crap already
# May 30 2001 at 3:47 AM Rating: Decent
if you are in sleepers you are with a good guild and this bow will go to the guilds Rangers first....simple as that....sure others can use it...but...it is going to be most effective for the party in general when it is being used by a Ranger who will produce more than double the damage of his/her peers with it most of the time and when using tru/disc produce 10 times the damage any of his peers could using it.....

so before you Rogues and such get too excited(and rogues you can get a better bow from a quest in EW)...just remember that the Guilds that can get this bow have already learnt what TeamWork is about...most will already have epic weapons in their possesion and unless there is no Ranger on the raid or they already have this bow you run a very slim chance of getting it

this bow wont be lottoed for a long time folks...it will be years and eq will be obselete before you can find one of your pick-up groups in Sleepers tomb

Give this to a ranger, add a fleeting quiver, a ton of arrows and sit the ranger in the back row with the casters and let him actually live though a kill while doing some serious damage ;)
Do haste spells/belts effect dly on archery?
OMG, if they do your guna be hard set to keep up on arrows. Summoned arrows may be nessary. Once you get avatar to proc it shouldn't be hard to keep it procing.
RE: Nice!
# Aug 14 2001 at 7:07 PM Rating: Decent
I could be wrong, but the way I understand it is this:
1) Only one Haste type spell will have effect.
2) Only the Highest Haste Item will have effect.
3) #1 will stack with #2.
4) Quivers REDUCE the delay on a bow, but do not "speed up"/"haste" the player; Therefore, the effects of 1 haste spell, 1 haste item, and 1 quiver will all affect a Bow's firing speed.

I like being a Ranger.

Fleeting Quiver???
I thought it was NOT in the game.
I just checked it today, May 29, 2001.
Quote from the recipe page for tailoring at EQ Trader's Corner:

"There is NO recipe for this item. It was confirmed
by Yakatizma on April 7, 2001 that this item does
not exist (though the pattern is sold by merchants)."

If you have more information or have actually seen a Fleeting Quiver, a lot of tailors will be forever in your debt if you share it.
RE: Nice!
# May 31 2001 at 8:50 PM Rating: Decent
Fleeting Quiver is in the game as of the 30 May 01 patch. The first was made on Test 29 May and several have been produced on the production servers since they went "live". Check back on EQ Trader for details.

Haste works on reducing bow delay. I found this out when under the effects of a Swift Like the Wind wit me Trueshot ^_^

And, need I mention it, Tolan's Bracer is da biz-omb when it comes to infinite arrow supplies ...

A very good wizard would never let his defense skill slide. As a mage I always try to have as much AC and HP as possible and that includes keeping my defense skill at maximum.

Random Proc
# May 28 2001 at 9:52 AM Rating: Default
Ya know.... I'm not quite sure what the shamans are whining and &$^%%ing about here. Skydarkener is a random proc, as well. It doesn't proc very often at all, regardless of dex. You're missing the fact that this is a RANGED WEAPON. Which means that anyone who wanted the proc would have to stand off of main combat and shoot arrows into something and hope it bothered to proc. Live with it. :P

Ivythorne of Ayonae posted that Primal is "THE hardest and rarest to get." This is simply not true. A uber guild that could even get into Sleepers could come out with about 10 primal weapons in just one small raid. Primal things drop almost like fine steel there. So when you havn't yet been to Sleepers (and please don't talk because I know you haven't), just don't say anything.

Hmm - you sure you aren't confusing priceless with primal Aldof? No offense intended, but I have hunted in sleepers a significant amount. Primal seems to only drop (and rarely at that) of the "big guys" - Master of the Guard, the Prog, Arbiter. Not sure about the warders, we only made a half hearted attempt at one, so didnt drop any of those. But at best, assuming perfect luck, and assuming the warders drop primal, you could get 7 pieces on a full out raid. (noone that I know of yet has dropped the 4th warder tho.)

Priceless drops plenty enough - still not 'dirt' common, but ya, that drops enough. Primal? Not that Ive seen...

#Anonymous, Posted: May 27 2001 at 8:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey Shammie boy why dont u stfu? Primal Velium is some of the RAREST gear in the game, it all drops in Dragon Necropolis/Temple of Veeshan/Sleepers Tomb. Zones that 95% of people never see.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 28 2001 at 9:25 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) guess u have to be at least ur level to be allowed to post something u dont want to hear, right?

#Anonymous, Posted: May 27 2001 at 7:26 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) How much more of this? Verant calls us shamans Masters of buffing, hardly any shaman out there would agree, but still... still they pimp away our best buff. Ok ok. Buffing may not be all important but does make a little difference and well. Hehe Ok they can pimp that away. Great work, at least they have not pimped away our slow spells... yet...

im not expactly sure how someone could say that this thing sucks, this thing rocks. umm dmg/ with the delay?!? LOL talk about crits, i would love to see this thing crit, or even cripple if it could. this is probably the sweetest thing i have everseen, especially with a high lvl rng useing it, no other class could give it justice.

Ranger? No other class?! Rogues maximum archery skill caps out just as high... And I can't speak for the rest of the Rogues out there, but if my Dex doesn't outclass a treehuggers' by at least 50 points, I'll eat my Bloodpoints!
RE: OMG
# May 31 2001 at 12:23 PM Rating: Default
oooookaaay.... can you do double damage with your bow? can you crit with your bow? do you have trueshot discipline?

bottom line - this bow serves rangers 10 times better then any other class in the game.

Rain Caller's effect (Firestrike) is a right click effect with 5 charges, not a proc.

Trueshot Discipline
# May 26 2001 at 4:25 PM Rating: Default
This is an excellent weapon for using the Trueshot Discipline... which by the way is a key component in many large scale raids like Venril Sathir, dragons and others. Plus the stats are great for any class that can equip it.

We're talking crits reaching easily over 1k damage. The highest crit I've seen on disc was a screenshot of an 800+ done with either efreeti or underfoot (forget which). This would put that to shame.
This is a ranger item
# May 25 2001 at 7:34 PM Rating: Excellent
Yes, other classes can use this bow , but only a ranger can use it to its full potential.

For those that dont know , from level 51 rangers do douible damage with bows against non rooted , stationary targets (yes that means double crits too). At level 56 they also get the Trueshot discipline which can unleash some pretty amazing damage under the right circumstances.

Yes , other classes can use this bow , but only a ranger can own it.

RE: This is a ranger item
# May 26 2001 at 12:17 AM Rating: Default
You'll get no argument from me, Agravain.

But, as an all/all (and by all, I mean all classes that CAN use bows), it's a kick butt bow (my paly would kill for it, but I think they did right by making it NO DROP).

I would LOVE to watch a ranger (with discipline activated), take a shot at some 1k hp MOB and get a double crit (plus the discipline). Would be very pretty...very, very, pretty.
Tailored Quivers
# May 25 2001 at 5:34 PM Rating: Decent
Doesn't the tailored quiver reduce the delay for bows? More chance for this baby to proc then.

Actually I just wanted to say "Awesome" with everybody else.

Hell, not to mention doing EVEN MORE damage :)
