To tailor wu's fighting armor, all pieces require a vial of viscous mana, 4 heady kiolas, an appropriate pattern, and a certain number of silk swatches, based on the item. (Gauntlets also require a greater lightstone). The number of swatches are:

gorget, cap, mask, bracer, mantle, gauntlets - 1 swatch
belt, boots, sleeves - 2 swatches
tunic, pants, cloak - 3 swatches

Personally running around for the first 20 levels with little to no equipment is sorta demoralising for monks. I know monks are still effective naked ( i play one) but its cool to have some gear.

Monks didnt have anything like this before, a whole suit that only they can wear with stats that you can get at a low level. I guess the closest thing would be crescent. This suit is really good for a level 5 to 20 monk or so. Then they can start piecing together some other equipment.

I agree that it is really nice to have a full suit of armor, and it is necessary and way overdue, but Azure sleeves are about 200 plat now, if that much. Wu's are going to cost 30 - 40 to make, so you wont be able to get them any cheaper than that. Hell most monks wear Azure right up until they get Golden Star, and thats mid to high 50s. You might as well save your cash till you can afford Azure though. You'll be better off in the long run.
Thinking the same thing

You hit it on the head. These are a nice sleeves and would be great for new monk. However, for their weight and AC, on a personal level, I'd go with the azure sleeves as well.
Nice but

Azure sleeves are so cheap now that nothing can really compete. It is nice to have them to complete the set though, and they will help you up your tailoring skills.
