I believe good Seigkr, that chainmail is made by a smithy and not a taylor. I have been doing a little research on the process of making elven chain and have found that it can only be made by High Elf blacksmiths using their cultural forge.

A lot of effort in the form of time and resources are required to make this item and the recipient of such an item is obliged to show gratitute for such efforts beyond that of simply saying please and thank you. Such gratitude is commonly shown in the exchange of a similiar gift that also requires some effort to obtain. Those who have acquired a good supply of platinum may show their gratitude in the form of money, while those who may not have acquired much platinum may offer a fair exchange of some other item or items.

One form of fair exchange for this item would be a stack of Imbued Emeralds and a stack of Essence of Moonlight. Common emeralds are imbued by a lvl 29 Cleric or Druid who worships Tunare. The Essence of Moonlight is dropped by lvl 30ish vampire type critters in Mistmoore. These are not such difficult items to obtain but they do require a good bit of time and are needed to craft this item. A stack of Swirling Mists can be substituted as a fair trade for the Essence of Moonlight and are also needed to craft this item, as well as the other chainmail items of this sort. Vials of Swirling Mist are dropped by lvl 15ish Steam or Mist elementals in Steamfont or Najena. If you are fortunate enough to have an ample supply of platinum, 2500pp would also be a fair trade for this particular item. Other pieces of Mithril chainmail may sell for slightly more. Realize that a blacksmithe may already have an ample supply of resources needed to craft these items and may be more in need of money or other items that can be readily sold for money to buy an item he can use.

Also realize that this item can only be crafted efficiently by High Elf blacksmithes with a skill well above 200, and consider how much time and effort it took for that person to get that high in skill. Say please and offer up your gift, and then bow in humility and reverance before such a person, for that is their due.
Take care all. You may visit me on Cazic-Thule. I currently have 168 skill in smithing and will be making this stuff once my chanter can enchant the Mithril at lvl 49.

I thought druids could only wear leather armour. Besides that, I thought if casters were aloud to wear chain or metal armour, they wouldn't be able to cast spells. Has anyone found out yet?

The reason casters can't wear chain or metal armor is that it is too heavy for them to be able to cast. If you talk to the vendor in Felwithe that sells Mithril Ore/Sheets/etc. he will tell you that the mithril is so light that casters can still cast while wearing it.
Casters Too?
