Noobies
# Feb 25 2002 at 10:33 PM Rating: Default
This item looks to drop in north ToV... which means you'll never see it unless you get off these boards and play a LOT more. Also Monks can't use these.... which makes it somewhat stupid to give to a monk. I play a monk and a Druid and I hate noobies that say stuff like "Doodz this is a UBER MONK item.... Look how much it weights" If you were able to come get this item you would know that if you got agro where it droped, One, you really suck at Agro Management. and two, That if you go get agro you will be seeing "Loading Please Wait"

WTF is with the monk posts
# Sep 15 2001 at 3:23 PM Rating: Decent
WTF is with the monk posts where they say on every uber item with weight below five "Hey this is monk item your super greedy for wanting it" even though almost every uber item is lower than 5 stop making monks look like loot whores.

Hello. My name is Ulic, and I am a loot *****. I tried converting to monkhood. I tried a 12-step program. I tried crying myself to sleep. Nothing works...I'm still a loot *****.

I say band together with your fellow loot whores of all classes and create a guild! Let the loot flow and the whores be sedated; only then will there be peace in BoT!

Great legs, high ac and hps... NO resists though... You'll see an upgrade from this item in luclin. This is a very very nice leg piece still.

funny weights
# May 15 2001 at 4:38 PM Rating: Default
Sorry, this post is a sort of flame, though I'm really curious why people refer to items by "stone" weight, a real "stone" is the equivalent of 14 pounds what I want to know is why people refer to it as this, pounds would make much more sense. think of it this way monks can carry like 14 "units" of weight without being hindered (AC hits) that is like saying a monk could fight like a martial artist with 160 or so pounds on his back. That does'nt even taking into account when my shadow knight carries 130 "units" if it were true stones he would be carrying 1820 pounds!! oh well, it does'nt make a difference either way, just seems like saying stones to be "more in character" just make weights and measures seem flawed in norrath :-P
#Anonymous, Posted: May 20 2001 at 3:58 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Personally I think that it is funny that you are questioning the weight units used... in a game where one can fight dragons and giants, and can cast spells that can make themselves stronger, or even change the weather. So you're telling me in a world where all of this is plausible, that carrying 1,820 pounds isn't possible? Let me remind you that also in this world exists Ogres, Trolls, and Elfs... :)

Ehhem one wt unit whatever you wish to call it is 10 pounds in this game, in cabalis you can catch a ten pound trout, this is the name, and the weight listed is 1.0, there is also somewhere a ten pound stone, also wt 1.0, I don't know why the term stone came into use but I would assume it has to do with the prevelence of the weight measurment stones in most fantasy type games and books... just my 2 cents
RE: funny weights

well... if wt 1.0 is equal to 10 pounds, then i think we all have supernatural strength. I see quite a few items weighing 20 or more.
Lets take up the monk as an example. What is the weight limit for a monk, before he or she loses ac... 15'ish?`... well.. that would be the equivalent to 150 pounds (70 kilos) of clothing and other goodies. Imagine doing those flying kicks on a 3 min ling fight (3 rl mins = 1 hour in game)... I know i'd be mighty tired.
So my conclusion is that a wt of 1.0 is equal to 1 pound.

Same reason a quarter pounder no longer wieghs 1/4 lb. after you cook it is my thinking.

If that fish is 10lbs, maybe only 1lb of it is edible? Otherwise, I could carry and economy car on my back across Norrath without slow down.

now dont stones weight different amounts so couldn't u carry 10stones and not even be a pound or carry 1 stone for 250pounds
#Anonymous, Posted: May 15 2001 at 10:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WHY CANT A NECRO USE THESE.!! All i have is CLOTH leggings err. i hate verant what are they thinking ya know?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 17 2001 at 6:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No way, this item is made for Monks. Look at the low weight. No one but monks should get to roll on this item. If anyone other then a monk rolls they are greedy
RE: casters
# May 20 2001 at 9:30 PM Rating: Default
Hmmm well you know what i think. If a monk rolls on this item, i would say they are super greedy.
Since its no drop and they can't use AT ALL

Where in the world does it say that Monks can equip this?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 25 2001 at 8:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) It doesn't. The original poster is an idiot. A grade A moron. He probably goes trolling the items looking for possible "investments" to protect...
