Why does the best set of Necro velious quest armor also have to have the ugliest robe? By the way I got bored and added up all the stats for the various sets of armor. Adds up to this...

Warlock's

49 AC
38 STA
38 INT
220 HP
60 Mana
4 CHA
10 DEX
+15 Sv Fire
+16 Sv Cold
+22 Sv Magic
+12 Sv Disease
+14 Sv Poison

Plague Bringer's

65 AC
46 INT
39 STA
210 HP
90 Mana
7 CHA
10 DEX
+23 Sv Fire
+25 Sv Cold
+19 Sv Magic
+23 Sv Disease
+25 Sv Poison

Rotting

49 AC
53 INT
2 STR
44 STA
280 HP
170 Mana
13 CHA
12 DEX
+14 Sv Fire
+25 Sv Cold
+25 Sv Magic
+20 Sv Disease
+15 Sv Poison

Its pretty obvious that Rotting owns the others... for me its a toss up between Rotting (minus Robe... can't stand the color, and yes, looks matter quite a bit to me) and full set of Plague Bringer's.
Faction Help, please?
# Sep 13 2002 at 2:36 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, peeps, lotta voices in here on this thing. What I need to know is what is the best way to get my CoV faction up? My Ranger was 52 when i killed my account (had to leave the game for a while) and he had dorf Ally but was still very KoS to Shyshrine. I am looking for specific MoBs, as I want to really start working this.

Thank you all.

Tag along for faction when somebody is in arena killing vindi, Him and his guards give good factions hits.

Skyshrine, Thurgadin or Kael?
# Jan 30 2002 at 4:24 PM Rating: Decent
Just wondering about which quests are better. Here are the stats for the Skyshrine one, AC: +12 Sta: +15 Int: +15 Cha: +7 Magic Resist: +3 Fire Resist: +3 Cold Resist: +10 Poison Resist: +5 Disease Resist: +10 HP: +70 Mana: +50. The Thurgadin one is AC: +12 Sta: +15 Int: +14 Magic Resist: +10 Cold Resist: +5 Poison Resist: +5 Disease Resist: +5 HP: +70 Mana: +50. And last the Kael Drakkel one is AC: +14 Sta: +15 Int: +14 Magic Resist: +4 Fire Resist: +10 Cold Resist: +4 Poison Resist: +14 Disease Resist: +4 HP: +70 Mana: +50. Any help would be apprecaited, thanks!

You forgot about Robe of the Bonecaster that drops on PoG.

And don't go for one of these robes specifically; if you are so lucky to get one of the four (Kael, Thurg, SS, PoG) then grab it immediately. The differences are so minor that you really shouldn't care about it. Cause it might take a while until next robe drops...

Basically:

Warlock Robe (quest Thurg) = Robe of the Bonecaster (drop PoG), lowest stats level
Robe of the Plague Bearer (quest Kael), 2nd best (more AC, few more stats than the lowest level in fact)
Rotting Robe (SS), by far the highest level
for all the armor parts

the only thing defying the rule is the 4 robes, they are really close to one another stats wise (the SS still being the best one)
The Robe
# Nov 14 2001 at 9:41 AM Rating: Decent
It uses new summon corpse, stackable coffins. Cast time is bout 3-4secs ontop of the actual spell cast time.

All velious robes have the same right click effect, cept this is the best one

Robe from POG is slow. It is listed as 25 casttime on the item, but is closer to 30. The 58 necro i grouped with for summons was able to out summon me 3:1 (at full mana) However, since it is mana free for me, I could summon more than he did on a raid summon (30 summons between us, i did 19 and he did 11).

RE: Pic

It does look like Crystalline Robe, only instead of light blue it is light green (peagreen if you will) and ppl do mistake it for Crystalline Robe often. I get the question "why do you still wear a Crystalline Robe" all the time :P
A little Question
# Jun 02 2001 at 7:35 PM Rating: Default
I was wondering if a lvl 51 necro can use this robe? I know he would be able to equip it but would he be able to use the effect? So in other words what lvl do i need to be to be able to make it summon a corpse?
RE: A little Question
# Jul 24 2002 at 8:16 AM Rating: Decent
you need lvl 50 to start the quest and there for once you get it it works right away even if you dont ahve the lvl for it that is the nice part of this robe )
Where robe drops
# May 19 2001 at 2:15 AM Rating: Default
The robe required to do this quest drops in Temple of Veeshan which is a tough place to do without a good guild. The upside is that they drop 10x as often as the robes in kael
More Truth
# May 19 2001 at 2:12 AM Rating: Default
Can use this robe's effect starting at 45 even tho I don't know many 45 necro's that would be able to obtain it unless they mq'd it by paying large sums of cash
The Truth.
# May 18 2001 at 10:36 AM Rating: Good
I have a Robe of the Bonecaster that is very similar to this robe stat wise, including the conjure corpse effect. Here's the bottom line:

The effect is the level 57 Nerfomancer spell Conjure Corpse. It still takes a tiny coffin (yes they stack, they cost about 70p with good faction and weigh almost nothing). The cast time on the robe is approximately twice as long (maybe longer) as the cast time for the standard version of Conjure Corpse but it takes no mana so if you have to summon 40 corpses (as in Plane of Sky to travel from island to island sometimes) it DOES save a significant amount of time. I believe any necro over level 50 could use this robe, and possibly under level 50 if by some cracksmoking chance they could procure it (lol).

That's the straight dope.

By the way, you have to have CoV faction up to Ally in order to do the quest, that's a ******** of giant killing. Also, I have seen the robe compenent for this robe drop in Temple of Veeshan Testing Halls several times. Not sure if a robe from another location will work.

The effect is awesome, like previously stated do a big POA raid for one, its not used in POA due to a wipe out, it serves another purpose.

All you folks who think the effect sucks - have you ever been on a big sky raid?

This robe alone could save *HOURS*
Not bad
# May 15 2001 at 8:31 AM Rating: Decent
Thats correct, it summons a corpse to a player. Sometimes, when raids go bad, thats absolutely invaluable to summon corpses out of unreachable spots or spots that are simply too hard to fight back to without the gear of the others. So the necro goes to work. This is simular to the Clerics Watersprinkler (right click effect 96% exp res) in the since it makes life MUCH easier and saves us hoards of mana (allowing us to get a raid back in one peice in a mere FRACTION of the time it would without these items).

In any case its a nice robe.
the effect is no biggie
# May 14 2001 at 11:47 PM Rating: Default
The effect still costs a coffin. So it saves you 800 mana. Since this spell is never used within a battle (becuase the dead person isnt gonna be in eh zone to summon them most likely) the effect is pretty stupid.
RE: the effect is no biggie
# Aug 09 2001 at 8:17 AM Rating: Default
No biggie? I was shot a tell omw to TD. "Vox Raid gone bad, need a necro to do a MASS corpse summoning. I said sure and when i arrive there where 38 nekkid peeps outside...38, count em. Im the ONLY necro there summoning corpses (mental note, dont go on spur of the moment raids). It took the better part of 2 hours for me to get all those corpses out continously having to summon and med. If i had that robe...would have taken 10 freak'n minutes. That effect is more valuable then you will ever know. :P
RE: the effect is no biggie
# Jul 26 2001 at 7:53 PM Rating: Decent
The clickable effect on this robe could save a whole hell of a lot of downtime on a raid gone bad. If it takes more than three hours to get your body, you're unrezzable. Being able to reacquire them in a fraction of the normal time means you can get a raid going again and back on schedule after a big wipeout.

RE: the effect is no biggie
# May 15 2001 at 1:37 PM Rating: Default
The dead person doesn't have to be in the zone to have his/her corpse targeted, all you need is the Necro to be grouped with them when they die and the person to consent.
RE: the effect is no biggie
# Jul 31 2001 at 8:29 AM Rating: Decent
actually....maybe its different than summon corpse, but i had a guy in my group die, targeted his corpse, clicked summon corpse, got a message similar to:
You must target a person in your group to summon their corpse

and(at least with summon corpse) you dont need consent also
LVL 57 to use effect?
# May 14 2001 at 11:17 PM Rating: Decent
I wonder if you have to be LVL 57 to use effect?
That would be really nice if you didnt, but even if you did saving 700 mana is not bat too. Now if they would just take away the need for the tiny coffins this robe would be super =)
For raids
# May 14 2001 at 10:02 PM Rating: Default
Well, all I have to say is wow. Clerics with click-sticks are high demand for raids. If a necromancer comes along with this robe...wow. How many times have you known a raid to go bad and need a mass CR? This will make an awesome addition to any raid.

What does Conjure Corpse do? Is it a summon corpse type spell?
RE: Effect
# May 14 2001 at 8:08 PM Rating: Default
I'm not 100% sure but i believe it is an upgrade to summon corpse.

This version uses different coffins which can be stacked and cost 75pp instead of the unstackalbe 150pp ones
RE: Effect
# May 15 2001 at 1:49 PM Rating: Decent
Don't forget that the big coffins not only weigh 10.0 each, but are containers that only hold two "tiny" items. Which makes them pretty dang annoying to carry around. If I was the owner of this robe (er... assuming I was a necro I guess :P ) I would have as many stackable coffins as I could easily afford on my person at all times. :)

Incidentally, do all three Velious robes have the same effect?
