RE: They should...

And you people say Monks are whiners? Look at this clown... I don't like to just out & flame often, but sorry had to here. I would bet 1k plat (if I could ever get that much) that this person has a char in about every class except monk. Take off the blinders already.
As for the tunic...yes, it would be excellent for a monk. Yes, if by luck of the gods one dropped for my group I would roll on it. However I would not expect to be the only one & although I would be disappointed if I didn't win I wouldn't go ranting, I'd congratulate the person who got it & hope for another chance some other time. It's called maturity & living with reality instead of griping.

Dex has nothing to do with how fast you cast.

Pretty much, the only thing dex is good for is helping a proccing weapon proc a tiny bit more.

NOTHING...I repeat...NOTHING makes you cast any of your spells any faster than they are marked. (It would be unbalanced to have chanters casting mezzes extra fast or clerics landing CHs in 6 seconds instead of 10)

DEX = weapons proc more, learn combat skills faster
Offense/weapon skill = weapon hits more
Defense/agility = get hit less
AC = take less damage when you get hit
Channeling = regain concentration more
Specialization = lower mana cost on spells

I, being an enchanter, would LOVE the AC on this tunic but I would be castrated by every monk on my server since it's leaps and bounds above their next best BP (phase spider carapice) and they get hit more often (*COUGH*)

Anyway, whether it's a monk item or not you can expect this to go to a monk everytime IF you ever see one...and most of us won't =)

Actually I believe that VI made a statement that DEX does NOT affect your chance to get interupted

No, agility lets you avoid interruptions, nots Dex. Dex affect Weapon effects, chance to hit with weapons/bows.

Agility affect chance to avoid bein hit and when hit, it lets it hurt less.

Dex doess'nt affect your natural AC. Agility does.

Dex helps with fizzles, interrupts, getting bard songs started, and weapon procing. I don't think anything makes you cast faster, except possibly specialization :P Channeling just helps prevent interruption when you get hit even more.

Player proven and attested by Verant: Dex helps with offensive and channeling skill increases. Dex also helps increase proc rate. Dex does NOT help people hit better, fizzle less, attack faster, do more damage, double attack/dual wield more often. Specialization only decreases mana cost for spells when the skill check is successful. Nothing more, nothing less.

Player assumed but no real testing: Helps bards start songs.

Cmon people, the information for all this and more is out there in graph, chart and text formats. Good places for info are the eq.castersrealm.com and Shaman's Crucible (eqforge.com) boards.
What no MR?

Ahh things to wish for that would make this item even more amazing. I agree strength would be nice instead of stamina, but this item is really nice for those that aren't able to wear plate armor.

Also not to be a flamer, but the monk item thing is kind of old isn't it? It's a great item, and weighs nothing, but anyone can wear it so casters might want it (Dex is good for casting faster if I remember correctly).

Just my 2 cp.

Yeah, the monk thing is kinda old, but this tunic is, by _12_ ac better than any other a monk can wear
Chanters
# May 11 2001 at 3:15 PM Rating: Default
I would be willing to be that enchanters would be drooling for this as well. At the lvl needed to get this, int and cha can be made up in other areas, but not 40 ac. Plus, the weight is nice because we are not exactly the strongest class out there. So keep your fungi tunic. Kick this on down to an enchanter that really takes some hits.
RE: Chanters
# May 11 2001 at 6:46 PM Rating: Default
Fungi tunic? Obviously your conception of a monk is lvl 2 and running around with a fungi, 2 wu sticks (or 2 KDs) and dragon haste. Fungi tunic is great for soloing, but the regen doesn't really help for the SoV expansion raids. These mobs hit for a helluva lot in a very short period of time, 15hps is not going to ever save your life.

lol i actually saw that monk description 2 nights ago. he was green to my lvl 9 monk and had a wu stick and a KD*Drool. i asked if i could inspect and low and behold he was wearing a fungi tunic. if i remember right it was like cabilis scale but a little darker. dont know about dragon haste not sure what it really is. wish i had a uber guild or char to help me twink like that. my form of twinking right now is a LD hide vest and a full set of cured.

#Anonymous, Posted: May 11 2001 at 2:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm pretty sure this is the ultimate monk chest item. Nothing better for actually being in the heat of battle comes to mind (Fungi Tunic still better for pulling though...)
#Anonymous, Posted: May 11 2001 at 2:44 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If only that were 10str and 20agi... now THAT would rock even more... but damn this is a wicked piece of armor :)
