If you look at most of the planer armor, which is supposed to be among the best in Norrath, it barely has any ac, like 12 or 13. Reason? Because monks aren't meatbags, they're bone breakers! Let the barb warrior with his 20,000 stamina that gives him uber hp's take all the hits, while us monks quietly beat the HELL out of the foe. Anyway, what i'm sayin is, monks shouldn't be overly concerned with AC, it should be AGI, DEX, STR (maybe), and speed. Actually, the reason monk planar armor has little ac is because... monk planar armor SUCKS. No serious monk I have ever seen has worn planar, though take htis with the caveat that I started playing after Velious was out. AC and HP (and therefore sta) own all. Dex is ONLY useful if you proc, AGI sucks (2 AGI for one ac... woo!) And str is the most ridiculously easy stat to cap in the game. I had fun tanking a dragon today... go do that in planar =)

Hmm do you enjoy dieing? personally I like makeing it back to my group/raid before Im dead. if you dont work on your ac/resists/hp when you get up there. Kinda hard to deal any kind of damage fom your bind point.

For one thing, because of the amount of damage that monks do will usually taunt the mob onto to them. With the no weight to this item makes it even better along with the resists of poison and disease makes it even better, now I feel it would be better for monks if it had an agility boost instead of stamina and dexterity, but its still very nice. Sure a monk can feign death to remove agro on the mob, but that defeats the purpose of being in a group waiting for the other melees to pull it back. Then the monk will have to stand up and start it all over again and most likely pulling it back onto them..etc.. over and over. Anyway, I just wanted to point that out. Im also sure there are better armor for monks, but to say we need not to worry about ac is crazy.
Hm. Now where did the idea come from that a monk wouldn't need stamina? Also high end melee is all about 3 things; armor class, resists, and hit points. Looks like this item carries them all. Could everyone possibly make use of this? Yes. Though I have not personally fought this mob I am reasonably sure that a guilds tanks will have breastplates with more ac than this item, so that just dropped main tanks out for this item. That pretty much leaves main pullers in primary for this item. Now after the main pullers (notice I said main pullers not every monk in guild), this would probably go to monks and other melee's that for some reason didn't have better. Then probably looking at shammies and for some, enchanters. I would imagine that main clerics would already have plate quest bp's. Just my opinion on how loot for this would break down. I invite educated opinions on this post. Please no l33t speak, nor class bashing. Would prefer the opinion of a 55+ guild raid leader as to my guess at how this would be distributed.

Anyway casters aren't gonna need this because their robes have better stats, i.e. +100mana +10int that kinda stuff and Tanks(i mean tanks not secondary meleers like monks, and rogues) have higher ac stuff. And for the people pissing and moaning about the ac for monks it doesn't matter when you are running around you need resists don't ***** around with ac when you can run away with sow and FD or something there are better items out there then this. This is a good item but there is better stuff you can get with the effort it would take to get this thing so who cares who gets it when you can get better stuff easier so STFU.

SKs are nerfed and if you did research on Monk gear that is available to us based on AC, you would see this item is one of the BEST. Not everything in the game should go to us but one day when you get to the high end you will notice what gear obviously goes to which classes to benefit the raid / guild the most. Any enchanter or caster that wants something like this to boost their AC so they dont die when they get aggro in a place like ToV can get off my raid cus they are retarded, youre gonna die once something like those gets their claws on you.

Just would like to take a moment to post a reply to the moron who says they havent gotten aggro in 20 levels...apparently you either dont have or dont cast the Spell Tashania or a variation there of so dont go saying crap bout enchanter aggro. 2ndly yes this is the best Chestitem in the Game for either a chanter or a monk Id assume in most cases this item would go to the monk Im just hoping one day it drops and the monks we have there already have one hehe=) fairly common drop usually one a raid so best of luck to me and Much Grats to all you monks hurry and get em so I can get mine hehe;)

this armor is gret! i belive that it would be an asome armor for any class really, 40 ac for a caster is unbelievable and thos stat boosts are awsome for a warrior, its nice for a monk, but i bielive that it would rock if a caster or warrior owned one =P.

You dont go to ToV and shout "a Rogue_01 LFG d00ds." ToV is a guild oriented zone, meaning if you go there you are either a member of a high-end guild that knows wth they are doing or you are a friend of that guild and they invited you along. 90% of you out there will not see this stuff. You may say "BS, dude! WTH are you talking about?!" This zone is about faction alignment, uber mobs (some of the basic mobs here are Vox and Naggy on steroids..basic mobs folks), and well equipped high lvl players. If you havent been there...I'm sorry..wish all of you could get there one day. Its a beautiful zone with dragons, etc. Personally, I think its neat taking screenshots of me sitting next to dragons :)

i think what the other poster was saying was, only chance in hell of getting the item was in a guild that can get in there, i know on my server one guild goes in there alot and the item has only produced like 6 tunics so far, seems it has a long spawn time, and if a guild can get this armor then they can get the other good stuff for other classes... but this item really is best on a monk class, after the monks have it then the next player with crap for ac should be awarded.. only chance of a monk getting this gear is after all the other monks that are guilded have it. this mob that carries this item, as im told, took alot of players to kill it.

Well yes, its a top item for a pulling monk and certainly would get merited to a hard working high level raid monk. But after your main pulling monk has one it is not so important for the guild's secondary monk to get it - they should be avoiding agro (and they are good at this) - may be taging but still not critical to have huge AC. Warriors will be tanking unmezable adds and they are better at it.
Chanters on the other hand are just as critical to a raid as the pulling monk and very often killed quickly - try casting tash so that slow can go off or be horified as a pet breaks mez.

please direct me to some link where it says that dex increases the chance to finish casting a song if the enchanter is being hit and please also try to make it one that actually has some evidence. Thanks in advance if anyone can direct me to such a page

Well said. Lets not forget, a good guild leader keeps those facts in mind. Perhaps even, if at all possible, a "Group Leader" as well.

If he survives that - by all means, go and melee - maybe you are worthy of this. If not, STFU and get back in line - way back in line. Sure do believe in the need before greed, period. Most people I have met not a monky would sell this and get better items for their warriors, ******* bards and rangers ( hate those with a passion ).

So friggin roll on it and shut the hell up. The chanters that talk about getting the crap kicked out of them that actually think 26 more ac will make a difference are morons and shouldn't play enchanters. The caster robes have low ac because the int and other bonuses are usually more than enough if you have half a friggin mind and know how to play your class. My chanter has 200 int, 200 cha and hasn't been hit once let alone mega aggroed on in about 20 levels now. If your tanks are worth their wieght, your casters have a clue and you know how to play a chanter you don't friggin need much ac. I also play other classes and don't know how many times I have partied with chanters that were utter freakin idiots and actually made it tougher to figth than they actually helped. +20 dex...sure it helps some on recovering from hits so you're not totally interrupted, the 26 ac this would add over a good caster robe is nice, but lets be real here. It's the spell related stats that win the day. You dumbarse chanters that play tank, whine about claritying anyone but yourselves and cast the wrong spells for the wrong occaisions at the wrong times deserve to die.

Only a newbie monk would need/want this, but any Enchanter would wear this puppy for life. Especially since most of them already have 200/200+ int/cha.

hehehe, sure us druids just port you to velious frm the other corner of the world and stay best in iceclad waiting to port all other classes back and if we are stupid enough to go with you on the raid, we shouldnt be allowed for the role on this item, since we cant use it and get killed anyhow if we get hit, forget the exp loss, takes a long time to be 44 again anyhow, hehehe i love this logic on raids for items like this one

40 AC, 20 dex, and saves?? Geez, I'm wondering if I'd wear this, or Shroud of Longevity *from Sleepers*. Both are fantastic, but... 40 AC? I'm still in shock. And since it appears this is something of a suit, there's also arms and some other pieces I think... some monkeys will be happy in ToV. Cause their kael quest armor, for the most part, stinks. Compared to this anyways.

As a monk, I see this going to tanks, esp monks and rogues.
Why? look at the ToV drops...as well as the new PLanar stuff...AC 38 Greaves? AC 65 BP? Plate classes have some SWEET armor coming out.
As for Casters...guys...considering all your other gear tends to be sickly low in AC, this isn;t gonna help you really.
And to be honest, against mobs that Quad hit for 300, this may not help anyone much...but it would allow me to drop some of the high AC, low stat items like Azures, and look at increasing stats above my AC
Plus, there is no mana or int/wis on this...there is dex and sta..those are tank stats..if this thing had +100 mana, I could see it going to casters. But not likely
Why? look at the ToV drops...as well as the new PLanar stuff...AC 38 Greaves? AC 65 BP? Plate classes have some SWEET armor coming out.
As for Casters...guys...considering all your other gear tends to be sickly low in AC, this isn;t gonna help you really.
And to be honest, against mobs that Quad hit for 300, this may not help anyone much...but it would allow me to drop some of the high AC, low stat items like Azures, and look at increasing stats above my AC
Plus, there is no mana or int/wis on this...there is dex and sta..those are tank stats..if this thing had +100 mana, I could see it going to casters. But not likely

Although Enchanters DO take damage sometimes, any good chanter never gets hit. Its simple, just Color Slant / Shift / Whatever, then snipe em down with single mob mezzes. The monk isn't designed to taunt a mob off of the ench, though they often hold the aggro through the latter part of the fight. Any DECENT warrior can have the mob off of you quickly.
The poster of this is probably a level 30 ench who does not know how to play his class effectively yet, and most enchanters do by the time they hit Sebilis, much LESS go deep into Temple of Veeshan.
I think the chanters on a ToV raid would far prefer a Ancient Silk Robe over this, with a couple gems it suddenly becomes an awesome robe. Same goes for any piece of the silk. *Actually the kael ench robe is not THAT great, no mana addition =(*

Casters, if attacked, need this a hell of alot more than you. They have robes with 12ac MAX!!! Monk only? if verant wanted it made for monks only, they would make it monk/all, you little bastards! I love my rog, he is my main char. He would love this, but if im in a group with a caster that has some ****** robe, ied give it to him in a second over myself. I know how it feels to play a caster. I have a mage , the class verant expects to solo seconded to necros, and when he dose, he gets the crap beat outta him! Though casters can use this more, and monks have a good need for it, Its an all/all item, so just roll for it! Greedy ********...LoL

You warriors et cetera should have your quest or planar BP which gives almost as much AC and more stats. Monks get crap as a planar BP, this is _the_ monk armor.
