The sleeves of the kelpmaidens also drops from a mob named "a siren coercer".
#REDACTED, Posted: May 28 2003 at 8:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hi all if anyone is interested I am selling this item on rathe for dirt cheep =) Send a tell to Zzoouuxx or Lowel thanks!
#REDACTED, Posted: May 26 2002 at 3:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) as a lvl 36 warrior with a lousy str of 141...I would definitly like one of these. as I currently have some lousy 6-7ac 2dex arms I would gladly take a hit to a few ac for an extra 10 str, and the enduring breath bit isn't too shabby either. even on a server with a messed up economy like mine (Karana) these things would demand a price of at least 7-8kpp so don't go telling me that this uber mob drops nothing of value...that piece of junk you just looted sells for more than my entire net worth easily, it may not be godly but it's good...use it to twink your alts at least

3ac arms on a war is just plain stupid
#REDACTED, Posted: May 11 2003 at 2:36 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this item is by no means valued for its str my friend, as a warrior u want hp + ac hen str +sta afer that everything is secondary as for the fact of needing EB it does comp into play alot, specially if you do alot of non planar fighting.
hehe

Wow 10 str arms with enduring breath, hmm methinks this goes on my list of stuff to get. way better for STR than the mith arms at 7str. and omfg endurung breath too) i think i got me a new want hehehe
RE: hehe
# Sep 12 2002 at 8:18 PM Rating: Default
7ac > 3str

Keep the mith arms, it's not worth losing that 7ac
RE: hehe
# Nov 01 2002 at 11:47 AM Rating: Decent
i think it also depends on your class, if you're a warrior go for ac, but if you're someting like a rogue where your dmg output is more important go with str.

OR, if you happen to be going on a raid to an underwater zone (Kedge, for example) and you don't want to mess with getting someone to cast EB on you all the time, it can be worth having. Even if you don't use it all the time, it could be very valueble in the proper situation.

And now that Ykesha is available with the expanded bank space, there's no excuse not to have situational suits of armor now! (Barring the financial, or course.)

Just a thunk.
AC is not always King
# Apr 08 2002 at 5:07 PM Rating: Decent
AC is King !!! or so a tank will tell you. but let me say this. as a druid i prefer this to a Fishbone Earring. this fits nicely in place of my ES Vambs when hunting in the gray or KK or sirens Gratto. the ability to free my ear slot also alows the use of even more mana gear on a normal use or resist gear via blue diamond earring on raids. so though most tanks would prefer a fishbone and to have the arm AC, as a druid and a caster i use and will continue to use this over the fishbone because the loss of an arm slot isnt "for me" as hard a hit capability wise as the loss of a earring slot.

I just got this item on Vazaelle, from a GM event in Iceclad. I had no idea they were worth this much, wow. All I did was heal a few people and roleplay, see where it gets you?

Itemizing
# May 11 2001 at 1:38 PM Rating: Good
Siren's Grotto needs to be re-itemized because:

a. The loot does NOT equal up to the level.
b. This zone is arguably more difficult than Dragon Necropolis or Western Wastes, and the items are pathetic in comparison.
c. Noone hunts there.

My guild plays around in SG sometimes just for the fun of it. GREAT looking zone, but we basically go in knowing we're going for Kael quests gems exclusively. I mean, Icy Servants are a common spawn in this zone, and they hit for 350 and proc a 500dmg Cold AoE. And basically drop nothing. Easily doable, but mobs like that as common spawns in a zone with no good loot? C'mon...

Kedge Keep

All I can say is that if there were more items like this running about, raids on Kedge Keep would be much more commen. Most people don't even know that Kedge exists, let alone have visited it, yet it is the source of some really awesome items, and because nobody is ever in there, you can slap together an excellent xp raid, too. Drawbacks? Drowning and difficult if not impossible cr. Items like this, with a hopefully permanent rather than clickable effect, would be awesome.

Friend... this item comes from a zone about 10 times harder than kedge :p

# May 18 2001 at 9:27 AM Rating: Default
I assume everyone knows this already, but you can always just keep a necro and a few extra coffins handy for those really hard to reach places.

sorry...if you think this stuff is going to do anything about/for kedge.

Actually CR in KK is rather easy as only a very few mobs see invis here (Estrella is one of them). Just get enduring breath and invis and you can get your corpse from anywhere in the zone. In the past we have had people's corpses extracted from under Phin by someone invis who was careful =)

you dont right click this item. you must be wearing it for the effect.
Reagent???
# May 11 2001 at 2:31 AM Rating: Default
Can anyone verify if this 1) requires a Fish Scale for use 2) can be targeted for casting on others and 3)what level the wielder has to be? Thanks! =)
RE: Reagent???
# Mar 25 2002 at 4:08 PM Rating: Decent
The effect is permanent. It must be worn to get the effect. So no fish scales required, you can't cast it on anyone else and it works at level 1.

these sleeves drop from Mistress Latazura, aprox level 63 siren. she is hasted beyond belief, hits for about 150 to 350 but its like a machine gun. she knocked off 3000 HPs in 3 seconds when i pulled her (ya, i died).

its pretty lame that a mob this hard drops such a pathetic item. nobody on the raid wanted this thing, its sitting in my bag gathering dust.

this zone just needs MAJOR re-itemizing!

Well,AC 3 is not great but STR 10 sure is.And with
the ability to breath underwater without having to rightclick hey, I would be glad to relieve it
from your bank.If only rogues could jump servers
and raid bank vaults? LOL.

Interesting item - not sure that any melee would wear (though to own just to click EB is nice)...but my shaman would for a while (and it's not NO DROP) yay! :)
EB IS a Proc
# May 10 2001 at 9:40 PM Rating: Default
EB is a proc, Jared, allows you to breathe underwater without drowning at all (till spell wears out) commonly used in Kedge Keep, to get into the hole, and other such paces where sustained staying in Water is required.
RE: EB IS a Proc
# May 10 2001 at 9:46 PM Rating: Decent
Slight correction: the Enudring Breath on this item is not a PROC. PROCs are what we call the random effect that some weapons have. This is not a PROC in the normal sense of the word because you actually can right click on this at any time to get it to work.

Slight correction on your slight correction hehe

This isn't clicked..you wear it and the effect is instant and doesn't use a buff spot. Your breath meter just totally disappears, like you're on normal dry land. It's no different than a Fishbone Earring.

Enduring breath is an effect that eliminates the danger of drowning. Essentially, you're underwater and you can breathe like you're on dry land. Cool, huh?
