This is clearly ... a monk belt :P /snicker

Just kidding, I have one and I call it my Thighmaster.

No wonder I'm so thin :)

Not bad

Good belt for the meeles and even casters who don't get haste belts in ToV.

Ie: Rangers, Rogues (They dont need theirs over War/Sk) The amount of High Ac belts which have Hp on them is pretty sad atm.

By the time you are able to get this belt you should NOT be rolling on things...this belt is as good for tanks as for casters...how many belts out there have 15 AC and saves?
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 20 2001 at 12:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What is saves?

"Saves" refer to the bonus on an item like Magic Resist, Fire Resist, Cold Resist, etc. The higher your number for that particular resist, the better chance you have to "Save" against that type of effect or spell. I think this came from D&D, where you actually had a "saving throw" (roll of dice) to see if you resisted or partially resisted a spell or effect.

You can completely resist a spell/effect or partially resist some. You will see something like "You resisted the shallow breath spell!" and suffer no damage, or you may take less damage from a spell if you "resist" or "Save" against it. This can vary also based upon the level of the mob casting it vs. you level, and the level of the spell I believe (I could be wrong there!).

Saves
# May 10 2001 at 2:55 PM Rating: Decent
One word, saves. Can't get saves on most belts. Heavy, but saves are key at high levels.

Nods
#REDACTED, Posted: May 13 2001 at 7:37 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) uh why do you need saves if you can just cancel there spell?
RE: Saves
# Feb 04 2002 at 1:54 PM Rating: Decent
At the higer end game, many dragon mobs have AE attacks. Cold, Fire, Magic, Poison, Disease. Basically all the saves.

Some classes don't get much in the way of resistance bonuses on their armor, and few belts have saves at all on them. Let alone a belt that gives a bonus to all saves.

Some reduction in damage from an AE is better than none, and the AC bonus is sweet for everyone.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 16 2001 at 5:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) tehee!
#Anonymous, Posted: May 14 2001 at 2:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) cancel like how? Alot of big mobs cannot be stunned (or even if they can be, they continue casting just to spite you - for example - the gating trees and other mobs in PoG...)

Not that he was correct, but I think he was referring to "cancel magic" or "cure disease" when you get a DoT or disease/poison spell cast on you. Obviously you can't cancel any DD spells etc, just resist them.

I'd wear it! Me me me! <---Level 60 enchanter
Nice upgrade to batfur belt and I have 87str unbuffed and all my bags are weight reducers so weight isn't an issue =) I swear...like...all enchanter items have +5str built in for some reason. I guess it's so I can wear this belt...
#Anonymous, Posted: May 10 2001 at 2:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Come on, you KNOW Iskar Clerics need the Int and saves for Pulling! and the Gnome Monks need the Wis for Casting there Pets.
Human Cleric
# May 10 2001 at 1:24 AM Rating: Default
Being a human cleric, it hard to find belts with wisdom on them. The only ones that have any decent wis are hard to find. While this one only has +2 wis on it, the 50 Mana more than makes up for it. Throw in the saves, str, HP and AC and I know I would be rolling on this bad boy for sure. I just hope who ever I would be grouped with thinks that it sucks like some people seem to :)

Girdle of the diligent (10 ac 5 sta 5 wis) pretty common drop at fear.

Girdle of reflexion (12 ac 6 wis 35 hp) easy easy quest at Kael (you can do it in one day).

Theres also a pretty common belt droppin at crystal caverns with 3 wis, theres another belt droppin at howlin stones with 4 wis (this one hard to get tho), and theres the belt of the cenobite (however im not sure if humans can wear it). Theres plenty options for wis belts, you just gotta look for em.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 10 2001 at 10:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) On the surface, it appears to be a good caster belt, but the 15 weight might pose problems with pure casters. If the weight doesn't bother them though, roll away casters.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 09 2001 at 4:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) nt.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 09 2001 at 4:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Tell you the truth, I have no idea who would wear this is you're able to clear ToV. Decent AC, but at this point, everybody and their mother already has a rbb or rbg and even if they had a cof, I'm sure they'd have a better belt item then this. Only possible reason I see someone wearing this is for 2 to all saves.. not like thats an overly big deal anyways.
RE: WTH is this?
# May 27 2001 at 11:38 PM Rating: Default
better belt?? nope. only better belt in game is girdle of dorfslaying. And unless you're the 1 guild on the server that farms dain, you don't have it.
RE: WTH is this?
# May 10 2001 at 12:47 AM Rating: Good
Junk? Maybe to a melee. But to a caster who has int maxed we love extra mana and hp. Think about other classes than your own when you call things crap.

Just fine for a Caster or Healer, actually.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 09 2001 at 4:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Uhmn.. ya.... Monk Item! ;) Only 15 weight... that's like.... uber light....
#REDACTED, Posted: May 09 2001 at 4:57 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You mean before the obligatory noob statement of "if it was lower weight and had 30 more to every stat it would be a great monk item" heh.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 10 2001 at 12:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Oh yay -like monks really need one more ****** waist item with gobs of mana and cr@p resists
