Is it worth it to use this as mt on a raid? There are no procs and with defensive you are hitting for less and slowly at that. I can see the advantage of getting less repostes from the mob and reposting doing more damage yourself if you have like a ton of aa in reposte. Are you able to hold aggro against 40 other people well given the head start?
Basically you'd need something to dual wield when you go defensive but when you're not in defensive it would work well. With mostly all straight dps 2handers, you're going to need a pair of weapons to dual wield that you can swap in when you pop defensive. Clearing trash with this would work though when you're not in defensive.
I rarely Dual-Wield at all anymore. I have punishing blade and Triple-attack almost every swing now. 2H Epic holds aggro really well even in defensive. Also, 2Hers cut riposte damage down alot. No reason not to use 2Hs, really.
I dont understand one thing on this site... When people post a question in Febuary, how do some people actually expect to have their answer looked over, when its 2-5 months after the post originated?
Point is it can be informative for others who may have the same question even if the original poster doesn't see it. I know I look at discussions for such info occasionally.

Posted:Nov 02 2002 at 12:27 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Got this tonight for my warrior... looks like the rest of the velious longswords/primal etc... it's nice for straight hard hits if you have awesome haste like the new lvl 62 chanter one... but still 1h is preferred. Most of us rolled on it for a toy hehe...
What does this bad boy look like? Anyone have a link for a picture to this? Thanks :) As for this weapon being better than war epic, considering dmg/delay ratio, it is. War epic however still has better stats, str, dex, saves, ect.. and a effect to boot. Still if you can out taunt a warrior with this weapon who has his epic, then this would obviously be the better choise :)
First of all, lets consider the ratio. 53/45. I personally hit for 250-300 norm with a BAH, I'd expect 350-400 with this. Now consider by the time you get this, you'll be 60 or darn close to it, warriors can hit 3x a turn with 2hs at level 60. Now consider the new flurry AA, 2 extra hits. A warrior can hit up to 5x a turn for 350ish with this.
Lets consider the proc. There is NONE! A high damaging weapon without a proc, this is nice for when you aren't tanking a big mob. Procs=aggro=dead.
Now the stats. +10 str, nice! +10 sta, thanks for the 60 more hp! 25 ac, thanks again, I don't lose AC for using a 2hander over 1hs.
Saves? Thank you! What do you think you need for AoE spells in ToV or spells in any other place to resist? With the new resist changes, these are very welcomed.
Can you hold aggro with this for exp groups? Sure can! If you get this sword, expect to use it for a while.
I'll happily put points up for this when it drops.
Just wanted to add a comment. I myself have been in several groups with more than one warrior in them. I do agree with most of what you said until you got to the point about procs. As a warrior, you want weapons that proc. While tanking with a non-procing hard hitting 2 hander can work, its not very reliable. Where there another warrior in the group with a similar dmg/dly 2hander, he would take aggro due to the procing. Hopefully being a warrior, he would have enough HPs, the procing does not = death
Bynakka 65 DE Necro Haphpinte Ohwhoopazz 65 Gnome Warrior
When using this discipline the warrior will automatically riposte every attack landed on them by the opponent they are facing. This discipline lasts for 9 seconds and has a base reuse time of 60 minutes. The reuse time for this discipline will decrease as the warrior gains additional levels.
This weapon and this discipline against a mob that cannot be slowed and flurries? WOW!
this is MoneAone of terris-thule....i have TSBE and with avatar and full buffs i used fellstrike while berserk and got a 1677hit. that is my high hit atm, workin at gettin a better cause i hear u can get up to 1800 on this..... =)
I'd have a hard time calling this the best warrior weapon but it's sure better than epics as far as damage goes. Epics suck for most classes... warriors/SKs most of all IMHO.
i was in velks the other day with another fellow 54 warrior wielding one of these. i had a frosy and centi ls combo and even taunting like mad could not take the aggro off him. i asked him what stats were on the sword and when he told me my eyes popped out. he also said he never needed to use 1hs again and i believe him. in fact he had sold his 1hs - a swiftblade of zek and a wavecrasher.
Well at lvl 1, this would go as a 10/45. You would prolly suck since max 2HS you can have as lvl 1 when u start is 5. Then at 11-19 it would go as a 14/45, still be very bad... At 20 it would count as a 53/45, but, concider your skill would not be as high as it should do vield this it would not do max damage anyway.
And also...yay twink...I beat you would feel very happy with all the best gear at lvl 1... you would have fun in a month then it would get boring cuz what where u suppose to do? This game is 50% getting new gear. It's not diablo
Um, this would rather suck for a level 1, considering the damage cap and all. It would make this somewhere around a 7/45 weapon until 10, then a 10/45 weapon until 20 (estimating on damage ratios, but you get the idea). After level 20 it would get much better, but I seriously doubt anything approaching a low-level twink would ever even ask for something like this.
Im a 60 warrior and wield one of these and was wondering how my crits compared to other warriors. my unbuffed high is 1207 and with avatar and CoP i got 1434 /flex =P
so whats everyon else critting for with this bad boy?
Got this sweet little thing a few days ago. At level 59 with a full 255str but no attack buffs my max hit is 313 or so. Make that a crip and you've got over 1200. Take that same crip and have it happen while using the fellstrike disc and you'll see some eyes popping. The weapon is a touch slow but the raw damage it can do and the nice stats it has more than makes up for it.
Shaiel Angelheart 59 Warrior, Crimson Tempest The Nameless
Today in Thurgadin, i saw a 60 warrior wielding this bad boy next to the banker. He started giving stuff away to the banker, such as a Spider Fur Cloak. You can tell because the banker will say, "Thanks for the Spider Fur Cloak, (Name)." After he had a large crowd of people around him, to everyones surprise, he gave the banker his epic! Thats right, the banker said "Thanks for the Jagged Blade of War." Everyone was shocked. Just a little story i wanted to tell =)
If you dont believe the banker says that, go to Tolan's Longsword of the Glade item, and it has a link to a site where theres a screenshot of someone giving away that weapon.
You finish it by putting in Queen Blade, Quest blade from Timorous deep and the 2 dragon head hilts into the Red scabbard and COMBINE now the red scabbard disappears and is replaced by another red scabbard (it lands on your mouse courser. in THIS scabbard you can do the Sword of Runes and Combine it for epics. I think I'm gonna get 2 sword of runes and combine them so I have both Jagged blade of war and Blade of Tactics /strategy and can put that lame 4slot scabbard into the bank :)
It's not really an exploit but more a fix. A while ago when bags were buggy and ate items, sometimes when Warriors were re-combining their epics to get their 2hs/1hs the swords were destroyed. This ofcourse made people very unhappy. So what they did is make it possible to re-create your epics by combining a Sword of Runes(summoned by a mid-level magician) in the epic scabbard.
What would really be suprising is if he gave his scabbard to the banker...
They do take no drop stuff hehe if he'd been clever he would have given stuff to pod he weilds and wears nodrop stuff whereas anyone else eats it (pod doesnt drop it if killed tho) he looked really cool other day in rivervale with full hate cleric armour and epic..
they do or should i say have accepted no drop items I personaly have seen people drop loads of unwanted primal weapons to that banker (must be nice to be able to call that stuff junk lol)
but as of a recint patch most NPCs no longer accept items thsay do not want they just give it back to you.
Ok I got this weapon last week and sent the corrections into Alla, it is now: 53 damage 45 delay 25ac +10 str +10 sta +7 all resists 0.0 weight Thank you for your time ;)
As a 60th warrior I am wielding this monstah. Damage and taunt factor totally blow away Willsapper(13/20) or Nevi's Claw(11/17) + 1H Primal(13/20), which I was using before. I use a 2H primal to proc Avatar. After that I switch and it's SHOWTIME.
After defensive tanking Cazic for 3 min I had such high aggro that he would summon me back after kicking me out. That's MAD aggro after 3 min of doing "lower" damage. And that's no exception. When the main tank drops I can usually take over without taunting once.
And PLEASE stop comparing this NTOV weapon to Wurmslayer. Or I make fun of j00! *snicker*
There's a lot of assumptions posted here based on the past. Yes, 1H weapons used to outtaunt 2H but 2H have changed and NTOV weapons aren't "normal" weapons, either. If you want to complain about ANYTHING on this weapon then the lack of HP. Otherwise it just plain rocks. 500+ Criticals are fun. :P
Ok im not shure about this here but it seem to me that this weapon being as good as a primal whitout the proc is also easier to get as ToV even whit the fact that it is an uber zone is still easyer than ST and as such bring this a litle closer to primal as it does not require you to be in one of the 3 best guild on your server.
dont flame if you dont agree just put your own opinion and leave it at that.
The truth is, once you hit 50 you get a main hand damage minimum bonus. Meaning, the choice weapon in your main will hit for no less than a certain amount. A Wurmslayer is a bad choice for this over 50 because that minimum damage wont change with the weapons potential output. Min damage on a 25dm weapon is say 12 while the min damage on a 9 damage weapon is still 12. If your guarenteed to hit from 12-45 with a 9 dam weapon then why would you choose the 12-100 while swinging that 9dmg weapon more than twice as fast as the 25dmg weapon. You wouldnt, so thats where that comes from.
Up untill level 50, i say use that Wurmslayer. The only thing you have to calculate is the dmg per second ratio. Go off that below 50 and you'll be ok.
Also, when your stamina bar is depleted your attack rate suffers. Its totally based on weapon weight. I have yet to find a formula for this but if you use common sence, you will know that the longer you can keep your stamina from dropping the faster your attacks will be (as in, maximum usage of your dmg per second ratio). Hope that clears some issues up.
You get the damage bonus in the primary hand (including 2H weapons) long before level 50. An extra point is added to the bonus every few levels, and at level 50 I believe it's 8 points for most 1H weapons (it might actually be more for the wurmslayer due to the long delay, but I've never bothered to get a WS so I can't tell you for sure).
Okay, first of all: Stamina I've seen a lot of people say that the weapons that give a lot of stamina and don't weigh much are uber because you don't have to regen stamina.. wrong.
At this level, I would hope to god you have over 100 stamina. Once your over 100 stamina, you can ignore that stamina bar.
Even if you're out of stamina and have 100+ stamina (stat) you will not swing slower or miss more.
Now: Wurmslayer Everyone stop comparing Wurmslayers with these weapons.. Wurmslayers kick ***.. from levels 20-40. Past that the taunt factor sucks and it's just not worth it. At level 40, things change. From then on, warrior's go against the rule and use the low-ratio, low-dly weapons in their mainhand and the kick-*** ratio weapons in their offhand. The Giant Sodacan Opener of Doom is primary only and 40 dly. That sucks. =)
Again, I would hope the main tanks at raids would not use wurmslayers.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and easing my frustration =)

- You're killing blues or - You are level 60 and - You are the main tank
For the main tank, the 25 AC alone makes it your weapon of choice, not to mention the extra stamina. It may not taunt quite as much as duel wielding with some nice procing weapons, but as long as you can taunt the mobs with your skill, and your raid party knows how to keep the mob on you, you can't go wrong.
If you're fighting white or higher cons and you're not level 60 yet, a better choice would be to duel wield some nice procing weapons with low delay, since your taunt skill becomes useless, and you don't want to have to rely solely on your raid party to keep mobs on you (rogues tend to die a lot this way... well, they die anyway, but usually they can at least get a few backstabs in first ;) ).
If you're not a main tank, Culler or one of the velium lances are your best damage output choices, followed closely by duel wielding the warrior epics, TPGHH, priceless velium warsword, etc. This is, of course, assuming you have max haste in battle.
The resists are a moot point by the time you enter ToV because you will already have sets of gear to keep a specific resist at 120+ for raids. It never hurts to have more resists, but you aren't going to choose your weapon by them.

Posted:May 11 2001 at 9:51 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The AC is appealing to tank with, but you just can't expect to keep the attention of a mob with this thing. The damage is very low, and it doesn't have a proc. I wish I could come up with a good situation to use this thing, but I just don't think it'll be worthwhile unless its damage is upgraded.
Why are you all complaining? Granted, the weapon's ratio isn't as high as a rod of mourning (29/36), but 24/35 is still excellent.
More to the point, this weapon weighs NOTHING. No more sitting down during a fight because you're out of stamina. Add 25 AC, 10 strength, 10 stamina (and the resulting 100 hitpoints), plus some nice resist buffs and you have an excellent tanking weapon. Trakanon, your hide is mine! :-)
For example, a substantial number of people have primal weapons that have dropped Eashon. At the least, about everyone has epic class weapons. People back here aren't exactly using mith 2 handers. This weapon would have to be at least 30/35 for most people to consider using that can beat Eashon.
You'll have the odd guest that might not have a two hander at all, but certainly this will almost never be an upgrade for anyone.
