unless you make it a point to say "i need <specific item>, lets get a raid together for it,i see no reason why all invovedshould not be able to roll on it. even if the class you are playing can not use it ,you can still sell it and but something nice.i am not including no drop items or epic items here.in the case of the no drop, which ever class or whoever has the stats that determine you need said item, should be allowed to loot it.all othe dropped items should be able to be /random by all involved on the raid. myself if the character i was playing won roll on something that i have really no use for, id give it to someone in the raid that was wanting and had a real need of it. but thats just me. everyone should have an equal chance. when you cut out the option for some to not be able to win on dropped loot, thats when you start losing real good solid people for raids.

For Your Information

I dont normally post, but I felt I have to on this one. DONT exclude int casters from the list of people that can get this based solely on the stats. There is NOT another mana preservation 3 item that HAS int. Any guild that can get this is going on merit/points so there will not be a roll. I am an enchanter, and I have an ODS. Since I am doing the coldain prayer shawl, I need a different MP3 item, and I would positively LOVE to get this item, eventhough wisdom doesn't do me any good. If you live in a vacuum, then this is great for a wis caster, but when you notice this effect is only ON +wis items, think before you post.

Rejoice for the fix is in!
Check out the link for a very nice head item for both int and wis casters with mana pres III on it... and what's more it's crafted :)

FYI the monocle is the only one of 4 MP3 items with decent WIS. Crystalline Torque has no stats, Obulus has sucky stats overall, and Nevederia's Left Eye is very suitable for any serious caster of the arcane (INT-using) or divine (WIS-using) sort. This item is the one and only MP3 item clearly most suitable for a WIS caster, although very desirable for any caster.
Mana Pres 3
# Aug 14 2002 at 5:31 AM Rating: Default
Don't be newbies... If you've been raiding reasonably, your wis should be 255. This item is about mana preservation 3. Hybrids should not be getting a mana preservation item- you should be getting at least 20 mana per tick standing with kei. Additionally, your most expensive stun is 200 mana. You'd get a whole three seconds of mana back with this. There are comparable AC items with no weight(look to Yelniak). An enchanter would get good use of this item, as would a shaman. ALL casters need this evenly for the coveted focus effect.

No guild is going to clear the gov in tov for a pally to get himself focus item he doesn
t need: that you can forget.

Some Hybrids use a lot of mana, from a raiding paladin perspective group heals cost 650 mana; rarely will a raiding paladin use a stun.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 10 2003 at 10:52 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) There are multiple items out there with this focus effect. Some, other than this, have decent int. This is the ONLY one with decent wis, therefore it should ONLY go to a wisdom based caster, IE Druid, Cleric, or Shaman.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 08 2002 at 9:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Snook, perhaps you should not be bitter. You take yourself FAR too seriously. Chill out man. The pally's point was that if they got it, it would be an uber item. I didn't see him flame anyone. JEEZ!

This isn't meant to flame anyone, but I don't understand why everyone feels the need to post about what class an item is for.. in any raid/group i've been in an item like this would go to the highest roller who can and will use it.
When looking for genuine info on an item it gets frustrating to see bickering back and forth on items rather than informative posts such as drop rates, mob hp / resistance etc. Just me, but I say who cares? If the character wants it, let them roll and let the fates decide who it's "meant for". Just my 2 cp for all it's worth

Looks nice .. now has mana pres III.

Im pally and this I think would be the best face I could get. I think cleric probably have better, but as hybrids struggle for mana and dont have specialization .. the mana pres is extremely good. Mana pres II is useless to a 55+ pally as the heal spells that suck the mana are 56+.

Ranger/pally would find this an uber face slot .. and probably never replace it.

#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 12 2001 at 3:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Shaman item no doubt.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 06 2002 at 9:41 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) yer on crack. this is pally/ranger item.

# Jul 20 2002 at 10:52 PM Rating: Decent
I hate to get into these who can sue fights but this item is great for shaman. any caster/hybrid apprecate teh maan conserve. I know as a shaman I am alwyas at like 20 % mana with long pulls and and C3 on me. I burn mana like crazy. 2nd item has AC HP WIS AGI and mana wich are all stats shammys use.. and dex for weapon procs. (a ton of nice weaposn with procs on em for shammys)

Sure a ranger cna use it and woudl benfist greatly so would shammys. and many other classes would like it as well.

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 29 2001 at 7:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Believe it or not this is a monk item. It may have wis and mana but hey this is monkly. And I despise monks /shiver.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 22 2002 at 6:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You dispise Monks? I would take a 60 monk over a 60 warrior any day. The rate they can hit at will all their hastes? Man you must be crazy
mob drop
# Oct 12 2001 at 8:52 AM Rating: Default
Me personaly i would give it to a cleric first...then the druid...or other wis caster...however 9 times out of ten the cleric will already have a better piece therfor give it to the highest level wis caster present at the raid that needs it...

...btw im a lv 47 warrior on the nameless
#Anonymous, Posted: Sep 03 2001 at 12:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) AC 15, 10 WIS, 50 mana/HP.. seems like a cleric should be considered for it... not that FoH listens to anonymous people on message boards.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 12 2001 at 6:23 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What your not understanding is if you die its ok the raid will still live. When the Enchanters/Clerics/Tanks die your f00ked.

Druids don't need ac
# Jun 11 2001 at 9:03 AM Rating: Decent
Umm once again the melee classes think of themselfs. Let's see this has great ac and wis sounds like a super item for a druid, but oh yeah we don't need any ac since we have so much to begin with and why would we want to put other stats in verious places since we can be maxed out on our wis by wearing a bunch of crappy armor that has a couple points of wis here and there and o ac..I love to be the first to hit the ground when in combat.
RE: Druids don't need ac
# Jul 25 2001 at 9:34 AM Rating: Excellent
If a druid is getting hit during a fight, the druid is doing something wrong, or your tanks aren't taunting enough. In the upper levels, meaning by the time you could actually get this piece which would be 55+, druids aren't getting healing aggro, as they are rarely the main healers in the group. They aren't meleeing hardly at all, and shouldn't have been meleeing past level 30 anyways, so they can't be aggroing that way either.

About the only way a druid would be getting any aggro would be if he over nuked or is snaring, and if you make it to 55+ you know enough not to do that by then.

Besides, all the AC in the world isn't going to save a druid in a fight if he has the aggro on him. You don't have the HP's or the defense skills of a hybrid or a tank to survive very long. But all that being said, this would be a very nice druid item, but not something reserved for a druid, as they will more than likely have 200+ WIS by 55+.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 29 2001 at 10:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Umm do you play a high lvl druid? If you do you would know that a druid WILL get aggro! Ever try to snare a high lvl mob? and god forbid the first snare is resisted. Also "aren't getting healing aggro" we playing the same game? Just curious because I'm usually put in a group as a main healer (usually the last couple groups dont have clerics)and since I have to usually cast heal twice I'll get aggro from it on a occasion. I'm not bashing you just questioning some of your comments.
RE: Druids don't need ac
# Sep 03 2001 at 7:08 PM Rating: Default
Druids actually DO do a fair amount of healing. Who do you think is healing the cleric who is keeping everybody else alive, or the enchanter who the cleric can't afford to spend complete heals on because he needs to use those for the tanks?

And snares definitely get plenty of aggro. Druids definitely need AC(and hitpoints) somewhere along the line. It's only at the LOWER levels that AC matters so much less.

Even at high levels, druids still snare plenty. Monks aren't the only guys who die on pulls. And at least druids can use the wisdom and mana on this item.
RE: Druids don't need ac

Suprised you got to 60 with clerics like this...

"or the enchanter who the cleric can't afford to spend complete heals on because he needs to use those for the tanks?"

I play a 54 enchanter myself, and if I get aggro (Which happens, regardless.), and the cleric Complete heals me, I'm as good as dead! I can go down in under 10 seconds easy, I'm a chanter after all. Of course the cleric Complete Heals the tanks! Remedy/DL (or in some cases chloroplast, but if I have a cleric he [or she] usually does a good job keepin me healed) is used on casters... it's not worth Complete healing casters in the first place.

if I get the "Complete healing Trav" message, I know I'm going to be staring at my bind point quick enough.
RE: Druids don't need ac

With the addition of Luclin, Druids now have Ro's Smoldering Disjunction which is a nuke, attk debuff, AC debuff, and FR debuff, all wrapped into one spell. If druids didn't get aggro before (which they did), they do now.

And, just a little vent here, but sick of clr|dru|shm equippable items going to the cleric in most cases and sometimes the shaman. Clerics are pretty much on the same drop table as melee (ie, 90% of the items in game) and shamans aren't that far behind. So, if a druid can equip an item, give it to him, damnit. Same goes for caster items - lame to give a good caster-equippable item to a melee/cleric as there are few enough caster items.

60 Druid
RE: Druids don't need ac
# Feb 10 2003 at 10:39 AM Rating: Decent
Well spoken, Drithius!

Every single item a druid can equip that isn't druid only has this same dman old sickening argument beneath it. I get so damn sick and tired of it! Why the hell are druids the red headed step children of seemingly every guild out there? Why is it that ANY item a druid can equip will go to ANYONE else who can equip it first, even if it is needed by the druid much more? Get off it! Regardless of if their wis is over 200, there are other things to improve. The reason druids are looked at as second class raid participants in high end game is that they cannot keep up with their peers as far as equipment goes. It's their peers that do it to them!

90% of the time if a druid can use something that other classes may use, there are several items for that slot out there for the other classes that are MUCH better. For druids, there are NOT. If you dare have the odasity to say that the reason this topic comes up so often is that druids are greedy, then your view may be corrected by a very simple action. Look for people bragging about various "uber" items they have. For every 1 druid you find that CAN do that, let alone DOES, you will find 10 of EVERY other class who CAN AND DOES. Instead of flaming or arguing about that fact, TRY IT. I guarantee that on any board where you find 1 druid saying they got an item, you will find at least 10 people from other classes saying the same thing, with the exception of the few druid only items out there. Now do the same for items druids can not use, and you'll notice that druids are the only class always ripped off this way. ALWAYS at the bottom of the loot order. It makes me sick!

I should note that my guild does not practice your crime. Items are rolled on by those who can use them most. The only way any item ever rolls to sell instead of wear is if there is NOBODY in the guild who will wear it. Even then, it would go in the guild bank before it's given up to sell. Also, the old argument about which priest class can roll on an item is settled simply as follows: Who needs it? Will they definitely wear it? Does that person need it more than this person? Why? Now roll! Be fair to ALL your members, NOT just tanks and clerics. BTW yes, Shamans can slow, so they usually are ahead of druids in loot order. Keep in mind that, as far as magic goes, a druid can do ANYTHING, at least in some degree. The purpose of the druid class in a raid is to fill in wherever things seem weakest. If I were in a guild and saw someone get scrood on a raid like many of you do to druids, I would port, target myself, and /guildremove, without a single word. Luckily, I won't ever have to do that because I was lucky enough to find a player organization that actually has values other than making the same three people more powerfull constantly.

#Anonymous, Posted: May 27 2001 at 11:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) No int so the int casters won't squabble over it (as much :p)
seems to me...
# May 09 2001 at 6:06 PM Rating: Default
this would go best on a paladin or ranger. any other wis class would probably have wis capped by that lvl anyway and a paladin or ranger could use the 10ac/50hp
RE: seems to me...
# Oct 08 2001 at 2:09 AM Rating: Decent
Umm the wis prolly would be capped but that has nothing to do with it. Higher wis in 1 item means deleting other wis items for mana,ac,saves or dex. items. Oh and by the way for the AC argument...I dont see too many hybrids get smacked 1st thing when a mob pops. The fact that Druids are frail is the exact reason AC is needed.
RE: seems to me...
# May 10 2001 at 12:02 AM Rating: Good
I'll second that....not too many great face slot items and especially with the WIS and HP.
RE: seems to me...
# May 10 2001 at 3:08 PM Rating: Default
Agreed. Very useful for a wisdom based hybrid. The dex and agi are icing on the cake for rangers also...not that i'm implying only hybrids should receive this drop.
