Effect
# Jan 13 2004 at 8:35 PM Rating: Decent
I got this item 1/2004 and the effect is Spell Haste III.

Nice range item with 25ac.
Latest Effect (6/6)
# Jun 07 2002 at 9:59 AM Rating: Decent
The latest effect is now "Improved Healing 3". Looks like this item just got VERY NICE for Shamans, Druids and Clerics (who are all healers).
new effect
# Jun 06 2002 at 5:07 AM Rating: Default
This now has extended affliction III wich increases the duration of most DoTs, snares and roots (not sure what else). This would point it more twards necros/shamans/druids. But, obviously, other classes would benifit from this effect as well.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 02 2002 at 10:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ok, first off, its called hand of the master BECAUSE...it kind of looks like a rip off of a velium hand, it really looks like a medievil bazooka, its really uber looking, it has a barrel and 3 transparant spikes sticking out of where the arrows shoot out....hehe kinda a bad description but if you saw it...theres no better way to explain it

Update
# Jul 03 2001 at 7:56 PM Rating: Decent
This item has been updated, it is now 25ac 10dex 10sta 50hp 20mana 7 all saves, and wt is now 1.0 instead of 10.0
#Anonymous, Posted: May 26 2001 at 8:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ba ba bardddddddddddddddd
#Anonymous, Posted: May 15 2001 at 3:01 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) **** all you stupid people who think this is good for any one class. 7 sv all in range is UBER for ANY class. the 25 ac and 20 mana and hp are just a little tack on, who gives a **** about them, 7 sv all! range!
#Anonymous, Posted: May 14 2001 at 4:40 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Crap item for monks, basically because of the weight. Sure a lv 60 monk without weapons could probably use this but there are other items that fits better. The idol of the thorned and that fishing quest item comes to mind.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 22 2001 at 11:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Idol of the Thorned weighs 4.0, hellooo, its good for anyone, and not crap for monk, wake up.

RE: not a monk item

WOOT im so glad to see such a heavy item! I loathe monks and hope they never see any uber stuff come out for them from now on
#Anonymous, Posted: May 10 2001 at 2:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) jeez ever notice that if a monk was 10 overweight he'd lose about ac over on the numbers? well that 25ac on the item will WAY MORE than makeup for the ac the 10 takes away.. and thats 25ac will add like uh at least 35 over on the actual numbers so it will add actually 15 ac to your numbers over on the right of your clear inventory or on the left if yo udont have velious... and you dont have any other downfalls for being overweight so.... poo
RE: ohmydumb!
# May 11 2001 at 1:39 AM Rating: Default
Depends on how much weight the monk has already, monks lose like 6 ac for every pound overweight they go. So even with this giving 40 actual ac the monk would have to be at least 4 pounds from their weight cap before putting this on to even start to gain AC.

I believe that the 10 weight is an obvious deterent for monks. This must have been planned by Verant. It is almost too good for anyone in a range slot (dont flame, that is just my opinion) especially a monk.

I understand that it could be used by a monk, especialy a lvl 55+ monk with the added weight alowance. But, it would have to be used with sacrafices.

My main is not a monk, but whether or not a monk decides to take on the 10 stones or to let a poorly ac caster have it will ultimately be up to the monk (that is if he/she/it gets a chance to have it).

Becursed but happy

size and weight

Size is TINY and weight is 10?

That doesn't make sense.
RE: size and weight

It can happen. Size does not always explain mass. I don't think I need to give examples here.
bad name

I'd say those are the best picks for this item...

although at lvl 60 a monk can carry like 24stone w/out breaking his AC...and the 25 extra AC is nice...
IMO

Good for anyone cept monk in my opinion. 25 ac would help anyone along with the resists. Too bad its too uber for me :( 5 more levels and i'll be in there. Oh well... Grats to the one who got this.
