Drops off of Druushk in Veeshan's Peak 1.0 in Kunark era on TLP. This may change once VP 2.0 opens during either Gates of Discord or Omens of War.

details on the effect

It's a 16 second cast time. Too long to be really useful. It works on level 48 mobs, but doesn't work on level 51 mobs- I'm going to hazard a guess and say the limit is 49, same as Allure. Stats wise, it's a decent pre-epic weapon, but it's arguably easier to get the chanter epic than a VP capable guild anyway.

It's a fun click-toy, not exceptionally great in any other way though.

This is a really useful item for experiance groups in sebelis and such. The biggest hindrence of charm is the mana it costs
hmm
# May 11 2001 at 11:21 AM Rating: Decent
I've had one of these for about erm 6 months maybe? Drops off Druusk if I remember right. The charm is right click, has a long casting time (12 seconds maybe? been taking a break from the game recently, so I haven't used it) and is capped at level 50. Its more useful than you might imagine.. in many situations, particularly xp ones, it can save you a large chunk of mana if used expeditiously.

Hey guys, this was my first piece of equipemtn that I could post to here. I am using it while working on my epi, only one piece away now. We have three chanters when we do a VP run and one has his epic. I am just jazzed that I finally found soemthing that no one has posted on!
WOOT!

No epic=no VP

Hehe YOU'RE a fool if you think you can't do VP without your Epic.

First time my guild went to VP, we had one epic in the whole lot of us (a cleric click-stick). As it is, one lucky cleric there picked up an Apothic Shissar Staff (right-click effect Greater Heal plus some stats, had no casting time for about 5 months til VI figured out you didn't even need an enchanter with healing power like that), and item which has been removed from the game now. He now has his epic, and it sits in his inventory til he needs to res someone.

So, in effect, you're the pot calling the kettle black :) k thx bye

CRAP charm ???

If that charm is really between the 39 and 49 in the level limit which it might be able to charm then it is extra crappy for any level 58 - 60 enchanter who can go to VP. This would be ok if it was found in Sebilis, but NOT Veeshans Peak. The only time I use my pet is when i have to camp greenies (like for the VP key) or while killing HGs for cash in Rathe Mts. and the 55 pet is usually sufficient for these tasks. It wouldnt matter if i had a level 40 or 41 pet anyway compared to most blue stuff ... i.e. we cant start soloing blues better with a pet using a pet focus item.

Focus?
# May 08 2001 at 2:48 PM Rating: Default
Well it appears that perhaps this is a focus item for enchanters. Ie , make our pets strong when we summon them. Just like the mage focus staffs. Now I do not have it, so I do not know. But as a lvl 51 enchanter, who does summon a pet at times, this could come in handy. Now it will be some time before I will be hunting in Veeshan's Peak, but I am sure I would enjoy it once I do. Oh, and this is not a monk item
#Anonymous, Posted: May 09 2001 at 1:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why ain't this a monk item? I have a level 5 monk and am in kindergarten! Although I have no idea what I am talking about and will never have a chance to ever go to VP in the first place, I would just like to say that it is unfair that a monk can't use this. Monks should be able to use every item in the game and be the most powerful class by far for the sole reason that I play one! If anyone would like to give me something, you can find me in some newbie zone begging for things. Oops, my mom is telling me it's time for bed. Verant screws us monks again WAAAAAAA!

What it does
# May 08 2001 at 3:26 AM Rating: Default
Alluring whispers is a charm spell, apperently it's not as powerful as the 49 Allure spell but better than the 39 Cajoling Whispers.
Still, a 6 sec cast, unlimited charm isn't anything to sneeze at :)
Keep it simple

God, I can't wait for people to stop using boards to abuse people and just submit the required information.

I am an enchanter and it's not our Epic weapon. Our epic weapon is the Staff of the Serpent.

But apart from that, I'd like to know more about this weapon. Like who drops it and such.
RE: Keep it simple
# May 08 2001 at 6:33 AM Rating: Decent
No one said it was the Epic.. only said that they should change the effect, put it on a level 45 mob, and then it would be a stepping stone to the epic, if you will.

But I disagree, not everyone will have their epic by VPeak time. And this is a nice staff to have before the epic.. or even when you have the epic. That free charm is fun to play with

RE: Keep it simple

Though you mean that if someone does not have their epic, then they do not go to VP.... that is wrong. You see, what you SHOULD mean is that No Epic (on) VP.... most people I know that do VP have a completely separate suit of armor... usually they have (if they're uber enough) two sets of their planar armor, plus resist items for VP in their bags.... since very often a player can lose their whole corpse in VP

The peak is in Kunark, but Temple of Veeshan is in Velious.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 7:46 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I may be ignorant...but isn't Veeshan's Peak in Velious and not Kunark?
#REDACTED, Posted: May 07 2001 at 7:08 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You didn't think of the option that he might have another character, you dolt?

#REDACTED, Posted: May 07 2001 at 6:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yea im sure you have been to Veeshans peak a bunch of times you idiot.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 6:00 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) take away the 60 mana and put this item on a lvl 45 mob. then a chanter can use it before they get their speed stick which everybody and their mother helps out with as soon a a chanter hits 50. there is a reason why it is the most common epic.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 7:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) its not the most common epic... rogue and monk is by far, followed closely by rangers
#Anonymous, Posted: May 08 2001 at 1:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) not an epic... no epics are common if you ask me; anyways.. but then again why would you ask me?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 8:34 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) its Rogue then cleric idiots!
