Where gear goes
# Oct 16 2002 at 1:15 PM Rating: Excellent
I own these sleeves and love them. And...oh get this...I'm a shaman! No wis.. but great Stamina. And the saves are the rarer saves in the game, Dis/Poison. And the AC is wonderful. My Wis score is maxed out so these sleeves are nice for making up the little things that I need improvement on, AC/Stam. The resists help boost my lowest starting resists as a Barbarian. So it really isn't always what item is best for what class, but what item is best for which character right? These fit and compliment my other gear perfectly.

you guys obviously have no clue whom prophecy iz........on bertox, there are 3 guilds that do everything. prophecy, phantom raiders, and dragon council.... prophecy haz done everything there iz to do, and haz been in and out of vex thal since damn near when luclin came out. so to all of you whom slammed on llarn, stfu. theze kids woke the sleeper theze kidz killed seru, with eaze. they know what they are talking about, unlike half of you n00by p00n wanna be's. prophecy iz a 60 only guild with aa requirements, they have picnics in vex thal, and vex thal drops way better gear than this, way better gear than any of you will be seing for a long time, if even ever.so just shut yer n00by know nothing mouths and bow down. I hate prophecy, but I can't deny the truth. they own, and you drool for now kidz. /smack

Wow, thats about the saddest post i've ever seen.
"I saw this one guild that's uber so i'm going to give them props in hope that they'll give me their crappy velium spear" or whatever.
Nobody cares about prophecy on other servers, every server thats been around a while has a guild (or 2 or 3) that is 60 with aa reqs, it's not exactly something you'd brag about, especially when you're not in it, unless you think they're like your server football team or some other idiocy.
Come back when you have a lv 60. kthxbye

ps.. that "z" thing is really stupid

Some notes
# May 08 2001 at 8:50 AM Rating: Decent
Ok, a few things to clear up:
1) There is no soft cap on AC. The tests that indicated that were wrong. The high level mobs in Velious will be affected by AC well over 1100.

2) Rogues are the highest damage dealers by a considerable margin over monks, presuming they can backstab at will.

3) As of this moment these are the highest HP arms in the game for int casters. 15 sta is 36 hp at L60, and the AC and resists are nice.

Oh, and I'm laughing at all the monks here. Guess what? Not a single monk in our guild asked for these. Our lead monk can't benefit from any more sta anyway, and all of our monks have arms that are nearly as good. Only Yenadyen and I asked for them, and Yen got them (which was the right choice IMO).

For monks, go drool over the Ancient Wurm Hide stuff that's dropping in the forbidden halls. Drool on the Ancient Wyvren Hide tunic too - that's definitely a monkey item IMO.

Llarn, you obviously have as little knowledge of monks as you do rogues. Do the rest of the community a favor and keep your ill-informed opinions to yourself. How much did your E-bayed toon cost anyway?
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 01 2001 at 8:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) He's a moron or a deliberate liar. He said monks didn't want the arms because they had arms that are nearly as good. That is just a outright stupidity. The nearest best arms that a monk could wear are AC of 14. That's a difference of 11 raw AC. There's is no way I would turn down a chance to roll on these arms if I was a monk.

Not saying you're wrong, but what sleeves are the monks in your guild wearing? If they're better than these I need to know about them ;)

And in his post it states about 30 times: "IMO" which if you understood all the abreviations and such that people use in the game, means "In My Opinion". No reason to flame someone thread on an opinion. And good job on doing what you are preaching against.

Anyway, I would love a set of these arms. Im lvl 42 currently and all I have are forged Cabilis Scale arms. But that is the problem with not being a twink or begging money to buy badass gear. I would kill for the stamina buff. seeing as how i wield a wurmslayer, and only have a str of 119.
Not too much weight
# May 08 2001 at 5:47 AM Rating: Default
At levels 51+, monks now have quite a bit of weight to play with. At 55, I can go to 20.9 lbs, and I could certainly afford to add 1.2 lbs (from my 0.8 lb azure sleeves) for an item like this.

I wear a hero bracer, for goodness sake :)
#Anonymous, Posted: May 08 2001 at 5:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) weight 2.0 in one slot is a hella lot for a monk dont think theyd be all over it yah you seem to think yah ive played a monk and its stinking hard to stay under weight. in case you dont going over weight takes away alot of ac which isnt made up for by this arms ac. destroyer on other hand yeh it rocks. this is more like caster or spare resist for a tank.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 08 2001 at 7:56 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) anyone who uses this as spare resist gear will be shot kthxbye 8P

RE: Caps
# Oct 28 2001 at 4:58 PM Rating: Decent
There is no AC hard cap.
There is no AC soft cap.

Anyone who says differently is wrong. I have personally gotten as high as 1201 ac.

especially not that high ac.

In fact I can't think of anything that high poison res on arms.

You can be doing ToV and still needing some poison res stuff for trakk.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 08 2001 at 12:58 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) total crap??? NOT!!
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 5:56 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) if you are hunting in the temple of veeshan and you can use this, you should go on some camps for better equipment
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 7:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ya, don't even think about giving the monks in the raid a chance to roll on (one of) the best arm pieces available to them. Highest AC on a monk arm item.. next highest ac on a monk arm? azure sleeves
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 8:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) For monks high lvl enough to be in that zone, this thing is like cured silk...total crap
#Anonymous, Posted: May 08 2001 at 4:38 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Your talking BS. Name three easily available pieces better than this for monks. Eh ? Nada ?. Thought so.
RE: junk it
# May 08 2001 at 1:54 PM Rating: Default
That's why I remained silent. I've only played tank classes but for one, and I deleted that character at level 9 without getting anything high-powered for it. To be honest, I think a warrior at sufficient level would love to have these, even if it was only for a short time until they got something better.
RE: junk it
# May 09 2001 at 2:23 AM Rating: Default
Hun, It'd be nice should you be able to loot it, then give to a monk or a caster should you get yourself a pair of vambraces with double the ac. Thing is that these babies are NODROP.
Should an *** tank loot this thinking he could use em till he gets better... well... I can tell you some monks of your guild are going to call a veto to get a person like you guildbanned. I am not fully informed on all posibilities out there for monks regarding arms, but I'm sure this is one of the nicer pieces, although it has a bit high weight.

have a nice day =)
