dropped for me today off Undogo Digolo in Plane of Growth.
PoG isn't that tough anymore with the new expansons and such. I like these pants cause they save me mana... and that's pretty important these days, since all I do is dark and splurt when a mob is at half life. The shammy's and clerics always want my mana. Costs 0 mana to buff pet with these.

Got these off of a white horse last night(March 8, 2003) near the zone in. There were three necromancers there and I thought I would never win the roll, but the other necros said they didn't want them, so I was happy ;) Replaced my newbie legs(+1 int, +3 mana) that I was still wearing at level 58 =/
I love these things. Free, manaless pet buff is great for soloing in PoN where I don't bother to buff my pet because of recast and it takes mana.
FYI, the effect has a casting time of 15.0 secs and must equip ;)

Unfortunately for Necromancers most of the Growth gear they get aren't all that great and there are much better tradeable items to use instead of the items that drop here. For the most part Kelp is better than Bonecasters with exceptions

Personally, I would (and in fact do, on my alt) use netted kelp pants over these. Why? Simple. Strength so you can carry more stuff, Stamina for a few more HP, Intelligence for a bit more mana, and a nice save vs fire. Now, if you look at a full set of the stuff, sure bonecaster would probably be more desirable than kelp. However, if you're talking legs only, kelp has an edge.

OK help me understand why you would not keep these in your inv to pop on and click ? In the midle of a fight when your pet loses aug what do you do ? sit down and mem aug and wait the 30 sec or so it takes to come up or just hit "I" and switch to your bonecaster to aug? Why waste the time on meming a spell and losing the slot for over a minute that it takes to cast aug and reset your spell? Get a clue no mana less time = much better option.

The pants are nice. Stats are decent and it has an effect. I must say when I looted a pair last night which dropped off Keeper of the Glades I was a bit disappointed to realize it was the 39th pet buff spell and not the 55th one. **shrugs** still cost no mana and dont need to take up a spell slot. And they look very um.... well different :). I looted the robe last night as well but I Think I will still run through with the pants and shardflayed tunic sometimes just to see what people say LOL. Ok they are orange and dark purple :P.
the effect on the pants is just a bonus so we dont have to have spell memd wich is great for me would of been nice to have the 55 version buff but this will do lets me mem exta dot or nuke
