As with all the other components for Scaled Knight armor, the Unadorned Plate Helm drops off mobs in HoT, and ally faction with CoV is required before you can complete the quest.

Where does the unadorned helm drop? I got my gems and a bunh of other ones im looking to multi quest, just need accurate info where it drops. Thanks

The original helms did not have the advanced graphic that was recently introduced, and to distinguish between the two they labled it custom. This way those who had the pre-graphic helm can still do the quest to get the custom helm and are sure that they are turning in the right piece of gear.

Ok... why is it Custom? I've seen custom warlords helms - or crown, dunno which it is- before which look very unique and kind of weird, yet awsome, i think depending on the race it can also look just fekked up. So, is this the same sort of very unique looking thing? And if so, i assume the "custom" thing is possible on all the classes, now can you tell me how it is made "custom"?

Probably the custom version is the one with the visible helm graphic.
To clarify this, the roleplaying concept here is that you give your helm to an NPC to have it custom-fitted for you, & OOC-wise, it's an excuse for verant to add in a new version of the helm, w/ a graphic, albeit, a very strange one.
