Do Not Stack
# Jun 15 2003 at 4:43 AM Rating: Default
Paladin Spells Instrument of Nife and Divine Might do not stack together. Boy that would be great if they did.

this is in regard to the ignorant fool claiming nife cancels any other proc on a weapon, it does not, instrument of nife stacks with the weapon proc and, I have heard that it also stacks with divine might, but I have yet to level to 49 and find out.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 08 2002 at 12:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) i forget when they did it but ION and divine might do stack, however ION doesn't stack with boon.

IoN and DM do not stack. DM will stack with boon. IoN will not stack with boon. Neither will stack with the Imp spell that's like boon (sorry, can't think of the real name). IoN will overright DM, won't work the other way around (which is odd becuase DM is higher lvl, psyco VI)

Keep in mind this sword was found as they were doing the item changes for PoA... this reward may very well have been replaced right along with Zephywind. Who knows. They couldn't really have enhanced it too much mind you, they don't want you to opt for this and just ignore the other Pally 2H quest, good ol FA. Then again, doing that would reduce the bottleneck on Vox and Nagafen for people who want their epics, since there would be less people who are just planning to get FA and stop there to compete with. Just some thoughts.

IMO there should be 3 or 4 different "epic" weapons for each class. People could pick the one that suits their game style best, but again that's just me.

# Aug 15 2001 at 7:48 PM Rating: Decent
i couldn't agree more about the Multiple Epic thing. Like, maybe a 1hs with less del and less dmg for Paladins, a 1h piercing for Bards, maybe another piercer with less del and less dmg for rogues, something that does crazy holy damage for a cleric upon right click, and so on. It'd take alot of effort to program more for each class, but it'd be interesting.

I hated the fact that I had to give up my GhoulBane for the epic, but atleast I know I stand a chance at getting this fine piece. THis would be a nice item to add to anyones collection! Nuff said

Yep, a 2H Ghoulbane with fantastic damage-to-delay ratio. And you don't have to camp the froglok shin lord to get it. :) Seeing as you have to cough up your GB to get the Fiery Avenger, this sword is a worthy successor to your old trusty weapon.

Not so sure about that, if you have the Fiery Avenger it will be your primary 2hs, a better upgrade to the Ghoulbane would be Thelvorn, Blade of Light.

~~~Some Things~~~
There are a set of Pally only Items that have effects against undead, but I don't think this is really part of them because all the others are 1H. The final one is Dawncaller, and lemme tell you that ones a fine peice of equipment, in case it doesnt say it does about 770 DoT to undead. But as of now not many things will be worth having procs against undead. A new spell called Nife's Tool that came out with SoL is usable at lvl 30, and does a fantastic 225 and later 285 damage depending on level as a proc, imbued on the blade and cancling other procs on the weapon. This doesnt do as much damage anyways. Anyone thinking its a big deal to give up their Ghoulbane for their Epic doesnt know what they are saying and OBVIOUSLY arnt ready to start their Epic. The true Epic, Fiery defender does alot more DD than the GB, and it isnt MoB-type specific.
What are some of you on about? I serisouly do not get it sometimes? I am using a 32/39 with weight 5.7. One of those DN weapons Yes. I hit for the 100's all the time with a few ecxeptions. This weapon is just 1 delay slower and has a proc of 163 dmg vrs undead. I mean consider this :
You slash Dracoliche for 120 damage
You slash Dracoliche for 120 damage
You begin casting Dismiss Undead
A Dracoliche has been hit for 163 non-melee Damage.
You have slain a Dracoliche
I mean c'mon this is a kickass weapon and it gets worse if you use your disc and hit crits of 300's. Ever seen a warrior done so much in one second ? Yes dualwield does more damage over time, but who cares? If they do 300-400 damage in 5 secs, and we do the same in say 8-10 sec who caree same in say 8-10 sec who cares??? You do damage and thats what counts. I mean i didnt stop hitting the mobs with those weapons. Stop whinning about every weapon that comes out. Yes Velious maybe better but then its an Expansion and is target at highlvl players to get better weapons and as well those nice 30/36 32/39 weapons do not drop like mad, I have been there for 2 weeks and only seen 4 of those and a few warder staves. Try it yourself and you will see that getting such a weapons is harder and comparable to PoA. Also you have to pay like 20k for one of those. This is real good weapon and I would trade it anytime for my heavy velium claidmore. Well those are my 2cp on that
Torion Surissil
56th Kinght of Tunare
Requis in Pacem
A last thought : Whats more difficult? A complete wipe out and CR deep in DN or in PoA ?? Especially if the nearest bind pooint for
RE: Re : Bah
# May 03 2001 at 3:04 PM Rating: Default
the paladin disc sorta sucks. It doesn't give you guaranteed crits, you just get the chance of crit. so unless you have really high dex, dex buffed, and have boon of the garou, it's not gonna change much.
RE: Re : Bah
# May 03 2001 at 10:36 AM Rating: Default
Laugh, Dracoliche is not undead.
Dismiss undead does 162 dmg max.
32/40 is not bad.
2 quest items for this sword are too rare.
This is the probably the first Truvinian on any server.
Ups, sorry for some of the tipping mistakes <8o), kinda had to hurry a bit since my boss was near.... hmm strange didnt post all of it ... on the last thought misses a bit...if the nearest bind point of melee's is skyshrine or Kael.
Then why not SoulFire?
# May 02 2001 at 9:00 PM Rating: Default
If you can Bash with both the FA and FD, how about being able to Bash with SoulFire! It takes a quest that is definately "epic" for its level range, and it would REALLY bring out the usefulness of a weapon that has been eclipsed by the Velious and Kunark weaps. Thanks
RE: Then why not SoulFire?
# May 03 2001 at 12:31 PM Rating: Default
LoL
soulfire is EASY compared to FA and FD
at lvl 50 it took me about 3 hours to do everything cept lucan and the guy in mistmoore..
with some friends i should beable to do both of those in another hour, turn in quest pieces..
6 hours tops for the whole quest if you got friends and a porter.
RE: Then why not SoulFire?
# Jan 12 2002 at 9:57 PM Rating: Default
OK sorry but listen... SoulFire is not ment to be weilded in battle, it is 2 things, PART of FA, and something a Paladin can show off in Trading grounds, which it is impressive to have because it really isnt easy to get. But it is nothing else, I mean I'm not trying to act spoiled, but a 23/45 that you need to kill a 44 and a 46, and one which gives you horrid faction basically cutting off a FP to you unless you sneak around and use tunnels and such. BABS, which ive had since 28 is a better weapon, and I would LOVE to have a SF just to show off, It really isnt good, while on the other hand FA/FD are totally amazing.
RE: Then why not SoulFire?
# Sep 03 2001 at 10:09 AM Rating: Decent
Read what he said, epic at the target level range, i admit the quest is nothing compared to FA/FD but you dont get those at the 25-30 range either, I remember when SF was the sword everyone was looking forward to, now people are spoiled, and get mad when a weapon isnt what THEY think it should be, its a game guys, if you dont want to get the sword, then dont.
Just remember
# May 02 2001 at 6:59 PM Rating: Default
Few things to keep in mind:
1. This was the reward before Velios was arround.
2. The proc is a nice extra (destruction of the dead remains in a Paladin's domain).
3. 30/36 is a lot weaker hitting than 32/40 and with haste delays are nearly the same.
There are Velios Paly weapons that are nearly equivalent to the FA now, but the FA is still a good item to have especially if you want the FD. But remember first and fore most that these existed BEFORE Velios. The reward would have seemed better then.
Bah..
# May 02 2001 at 6:19 PM Rating: Default
Go to Dragon Necropolis and get a 30/36 for much less trouble. Heck you might just buy one since they are not No Drop.
Way to go Verant!!
#Anonymous, Posted: May 02 2001 at 6:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) To be perfectly blunt, this is a major slap in the face to paladins. The risk versus reward factor is so screwed up here as to raise the question "is this bugged?". I mean come on.. are you really serious? Talk about a MAJOR disappointment. Thank you Verant for showing us how much you really love paladins.
#REDACTED, Posted: May 03 2001 at 7:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You know, next time I see one of these "slap in the face to xxx class" posts, I'm going to puke. Get a life.
Sequel to Ghoulbane
Hey, it's Ghoulbanes cousin. Can you Bash with it, or is it not uber enough for that?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 02 2001 at 11:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ghoulbane 2!
RE: Sequel to Ghoulbane
2HS, so you can't BASH while using it.
RE: Sequel to Ghoulbane
# May 02 2001 at 5:38 PM Rating: Good
Just because its 2HS doesn't mean you can't bash with it. You can bash with the Fiery Defender, Fiery Avenger, and Innoruuk's Curse, and they are 2hs weapons.
