With a horse, the effect isn't bad. Without one, it has its limited uses. Post-luclin responses that blasted the robe for its cast time are simply silly. Good robe with no clicky, very neat with the clicky and a horse.

Drop rate is still low though. We have seen one 3 plate legs, 2 leather bps, 2 leather legs, 1 chain legs, and no silk chest/leg drops.

Yeah this clicky I think was just added on for no apparent reason. Now with the horses and the ability to med during this long casting time I do see the benefits, but honestly this effect sucks.

For the clicky effect I'd perfer Vermilion Robe of Torrefaction just because it actually does some damage.

Oh well, it is a nice Finisher Item, kiting on my wizzy they always end up with 2% life standing there Snared and yet I couldn't melee my way outa a paper bag so this kind of Clicky is nice to have =)
What level is this clickable?

Does anyone know what lvl you can start to use the click effect? I've heard some velious quest BPs don't work until the early 50s and I'm just curious if this is a universal rule for all BPs?

I myself used the Thurg robe at level 10. I imagine this would work too. I fondly remember rooting mobs then 28 seconds later... fried!

To be honest if you are high enough to acquire the components for the SS robe you can probably use it unless you decided to somehow increase your lvl 10 wizzys CoV faction to max and had him camped in HoT or Kael to loot which is highly unlikely =) chances are the effect is a lvl 50+ effect just my 2 copper

its a good robe great stats but the effect seems a little off. i know the casting time is huge but thats how all the caster chest slot items are from wut ive seen. they should really put conflag on here. IMO ur better off getting the robe from velk. will probably take the same amount of time from wut i have heard he does not drop it every time. good luck to anyone who gets this though still a very nice robe :D.

Pristine emeralds drop off gargolyles behind upper dogs leading to the castle. Also other places but I dunno them, best bet is anywhere you wouldn't wanna go solo in velious. The tattered silk robe drops in ToV in the Hall of Testing or trials or whatever. Very rare and very coveted considering all guilds will immediately give it to a necro because of the usefulness of the summon corpse spell on their robe which uses the cheap stackable coffins to summon any level of corpse. I personally would take the thurgadin robe if I had no chance of getting the Skyshrine one beacuse a free casting 360DD semi-lure is a very useful tool to have no matter what stats are on the robe.

All SS quest items drop in Temple of Veeshan, Halls of Testing. This drop is rare (BP's, Legs, Robes are the rarest).

You must have minimum dubious to CoV to get through WW and into ToV without fighting. There are no CoV faction hits for killing the mobs in HoT.

The gems for these quests drop in Cobalt Scar, Sirens Grotto, and Velks that I'm aware of. Cobalt Scar is mostly flawed and chipped gems. SG and Velks are where the crushed and pristine gems drop.

A mob does not drop this, its quested. To get it you need to get an unadorned silk robe form Halls of Testing in TOV and the 3 of the appropriate gems (pristine emerald I think)and turn them in to the quest mob in Skyshrine.

just replying to the warrior post saying their bp has a invigor on it. having played a warrior till 51 (after i was bored by my wizard) i was intelligent enough to do soem reseaarch on my kael armor before asking questions about it. the warrior quest bps all of them has a 100 pt heal on them which is named Invigor. it aint the cleric druid ranger Invigor spell. thanks to this bp my 60 warrior friend is soloing in velketor and is veteron within one month of the release of luclin :). cobalt bp which has same effect as the quest bp sells for around 125k at my server so you can see how important that effect is. the wizard robe i agree with others has useless effect on it even more now that we have c3 in the game.
RE: reply to daakaera
# Feb 12 2002 at 11:01 PM Rating: Default
The Invigorate effect on the monk BP is a manaless 90HP self-only heal with a casting time of 16 seconds. Durring the cast you CAN NOT FIGHT, can not move from current x/y loc or do much else. The spell is easily inturupted (a lvl 1 mob attacking you once but missing will always inturupt the spell). I've never played a war with this BP but I believe the effect on both is the same.

That said, a warior or monk with a bind wound skill of around 201 heals about 80hps per bind wound in about 8-10 seconds (never bothered to time it). Anyone with decent BW skills will heal faster with bandages and slower with the invigorate effect. This limits the usefullness of the effect unless you:

1) are out of bandages and w/o a mage or summon bandage item.
2) need to conserve bandages to BW others (i.e. shaman, necros).
3) are gimpy enough to play a melee to the 50s yet can't bind wound worth a damn.
4) want to show off. (I like to cast invigorate while running across open zones. While that makes it useless for healing it does leave a great shooting star-like trail of blue sparkles.) =P

In NO WAY am I flaming the effect or the BP. It has saved my *** several times. But a manaless 90hp self-only heal with a 16 second cast is not as useful as I had hopped.

-------------------------------------------------
Off-topic but related:
Just because you have this BP (or similar i.e. fungi...) and can heal yourself shouldn't be reason to throw out your bandages and abandon the bind wound skill.
I have a monk BP with the same effect but I still maxed my bind wound skill and put my first three AAExp points into First Aid. I never leave a town without ten stacks of bandages (in a weight reduction bag, Rallic Pack is nice for this). With bandages I can HP Pump necros and shaman, heal others while the healers med for battle or after a wipeout when no one has mana to heal the rezzed.

Please don't be like the fools I know who tell me, "Why should I bother with bind wound? I heal myself with my <insert_regen_item_name>." To be a good player, to be most useful to your guild or a pick-up group is to have the ability to help others, not just yourself.

Little ol me again...

just some follow up to a previous post...

the faction MUST be ally in order to get the robe from the quest mobs in SS. I tried to get him to interact with me at kindly and it was a no go. i didnt risk my robe or the stones and waited another 2 days before hitting ally and then turned them in.

i didnt want to take up too much time or space with a post but just a little follow up seemed in order so as to avoid misleading anyone about the faction thing.

This robe requires you to be on CoV faction (i belive kindly or higher--correct me if im wrong about that guys) which in and of itself is a slight effort.

I really just thought that I'd throw that little bit of information out there for the thought process.

hey guys listen up for a second

everyone is debating the effect... does any wizard "rrreeeaaalllyy" care? doubtful.

does every wizard at the high end of the game have mana, resist, and hp concerns? ummm yes.

so.... the deal is that this robe is the 3rd best currently in the game for overall stats (do the search on this site if you dont believe me) and the 7th best in the game for total resists (once again do a search on this site if you dont believe me). now guys, that in and of itself is something to be taken seriously. i doubt that any of us at the high end of the game even care too much about effect, its just something nice to think about having but rarely if ever used.

just my 2cp worth.

Greetings all ..!

This robe saves a wizard 240 Mana, to do 360 dmg of lure type resitance. But is takes 17 seconds longer to cast...!

Lure spells damage and casting times are already stunted due to they hardly ever get resisted. Against Venril Sathir I can only get 3-4 off on him before he is dead..! Or other post 53+ mobs, suchg as in SG or Velk. So with a 20+ second casting time... for 340 dmg, to save 240 Mana? (hell you could me meding for another 17 seconds..!)

This effect is 80% worthless in most situations...!
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 27 2001 at 1:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) you paper pusher are all the same complaning that the right click effect aint good enough guess what we warrior dont get squat in the way of effects all we get is invigor on the hardest part of the figin plat so stop complaning and use what you have. and this thing beats the living **** out of a keal drakal BP as far as im conserned if you compare the need we get like a third of the bonus to our primary stat and about half the hp of course we get ac but thats a given on war pieces. so get a litle perspective and quit crying.
Best Robe in game
# May 12 2001 at 2:47 PM Rating: Decent
Quite arguably this is the best robe in the game save for new Cazic Thule ones....

I never have to swap out robes anymore for certain battles....this one has all the stats...very nicely planned out

Effect is bearable and even nice at times. At least its a lure...Cast time outrageous but cnt-s when you cast to med....

The color I didn't like, but now I think it at least is original....Anyway I look good in it, kinda like some pimpster heh

#Anonymous, Posted: May 19 2001 at 10:42 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok, forgive but mages have no room to complain on this one =) ALL the caster's Velious robes have neato kewl effects, but wait, except enchanter.. Lets see, Rune 4(I believe) is a nice spell and all, but it also takes the component, which is a Peridot, while other classes get nukes and DoTs and heals we get stuck with a stinkin buff that requires a component, I'd rather have reclaim energy =P
RE: Crazy stats and effect!
# Oct 26 2001 at 2:31 PM Rating: Default
haha, you dont know anything about mages do you?

"other classes get nukes, DoTs and heals"

mage effects on our items:

bracer - reclaim energy, level 4 spell, we have on LOTS LOTS LOTS of items already

boots - summon bandages, level 4 spell. nuff said

legs - burnout 3, level 49 spell, have on like 2 other items, but we get a burnout 4 at level 55 i think, so this becomes nearly useless once we do get burnout 4

robe - lava shield, level 49 spell. another spell which gets replaced in a few levels. get group lava shield at 53 and a 33pt damage shield at 56.

First of all, Lures don't hit spite golems all the time either for the person who mentioned that. Those things are just plain crappy to cast on no matter what you use, just slightly less so with Lures. Enticement of Flames /is/ a lower level lure spell, and is far less resistable than Draught of Fire is. (It still sucks *** as a spell though, normal Lures had bad ratio to start with and this one makes them look good)

The stats on this robe are simply amazing. Enough int to allow you to sub out a good deal of gear, enough mana that even if it didn't have int it would be useful, and the ever important resists that are so critical late in the game. The effect on it is passible only because you can be medding while it's casting. It isn't going to turn the tide of a critical battle, but it's just a little added edge when you have nothing else. If you're standing while this is casting though, you deserve to be shot.

Last note is that the FBCR is so amazingly easier to get than this it's like comparing the Carmine Robe to a Silken Green Drape. The FBCR can be obtained by a single group 50-55 with a few hours work. The Icicle Robe requires 3+ groups of 55-60 putting in a few days worth of work all told. Mana Robes are easier to get.

Cryselle Silverwynd

PS: It doesn't drop in Skyshrine, it is quested for in Skyshrine. The gems for the quest drop in multiple 55+ areas, and the main part drops in the Testing Grounds of the Temple of Veeshan.

I did some testing myself.
I also have not used enticement of flame for some time so I pulled it out of the old spell book, was somewhere on page 23 =) for a test.
Enticement of flame is resisted Far less then draught of fire. Not sure how you came up with the lower level spell get's resisted more often theory. If that was true root(level 4) wouldn't hold on anything.

As to the rarity of a froglok bonecaster robe i have to say shut up...you dont know what you are talking about. We got 5 robes in one day of hunting in sebi. How can you compare a Quest robe to a common drop?
90 mana, 15 int... holy jeez!
# Apr 29 2001 at 11:41 PM Rating: Default
I don't care what all you guys say... 15 int and 90 mana sure beats the crap out of the Froglok Bonecaster's Robe... which incidentally is just as rare and just as hard to get as this robe is.

So it's not a rightclickable DD with a 500 damage 0 cast time, but this is what it is. Most pulls at this level are gonna last quite sometime. Your tank pulls, but you really need to med through to get to a safe point. Thus, soon as pull gets close, get this casting and you sit and med. Stand when it goes off and voila, 20 free seconds of medding, but you still contributed a little bit. The effect isn't uber, but it is cool. =)
robe rocks at 30, too bad gotta be 50 to get it
