The drop rate on these wherever you go is horrible. Dulak may be good if the respawn wasnt so long. SoEs screwed up logic for these to not drop off all of cabilis and allw andering iksars throu kunark is flawed and so unfair.
I camped this mob for the blood. Was there 10 min and mob popped dropped bracer. Popped two more times and bracer again. Anyone know how often the blood drops?
First of all not many smiths are Iksars anymore. EQTraders.com even says if you're an Iksar you're in for a rough road to get to 250 Grandmaster. The two different cultural smithing armors, Imbued Cabilis and Fearsome Skyiron, are just totally unsellable now-a-days. Nothing you can make is better than anything that is much cheaper in bazaar. There are too many other armors that Iksars can wear that are much better out there. That said here are some details on Iksar Blood. First off it does NOT drop in Field of Bone (unless you're killing the guards by the city) None of the wandering KOS Iksars (Iksar Bandit, Brigand, Dakoit, Footpad, Manslayer, Maruader, Mercenary) drop the blood. The blood does drop fairly regularly from the Bandit Lord in WWoods but its unreasonable to camp a 1 spawn with PH's for trade skills items. The blood drops much more often in Dalnir's from the Coerced Iksars but hardly anybody ever goes there anymore. It's just too far out of the way to go for exp grinding and many ppl just hate all the caster mobs in there. Once you drop to the second or third floors, you're stuck in a 1-way dungeon that most ppl hate also. This place is fun, I've leveled a lot in there with diff characters but ppl just don appreciate an out-of-the-way difficult dungeon for exp grinding. Plus the spawn for the Iksar mob is not very common. There are several diff mobs that can spawn on the same table so you'd have to slaughter a lot to get the iksars, then slaughter a lot of those to get a blood, again not too efficient. As for Nurga, with the increased levels and increased magic resistance the iksar slaves in there are much tougher than they used to be. I cant confirm that they no longer spawn but this used to be the place to get blood when they were lower lvl and easier to waste. Next is Old Sebilis, similar situation, Lvl 46-50 on the Iksar Necromancer and you're gonna have to wade through a bajillion frogs to get to him. If your exp grinding here or looking for the elusive black sapphires then by all means get some iksar blood while your at it. As for farming lvl 50 mobs for components...nope So that leaves Dulak, they are about lvl 40-43 and you will be killin a bunch of trolls and ogres mobs in order to get them to spawn but you do rake in the dough from the drops off any mob. I have gotten all kinds of gems off them including blue diamonds. I think I get like 1000p of cash loot off them for two hours of soloing in Dulaks. So if you dont get too many iksar blood drops, with the cash you can buy more Iksar bloods in the bazaar hehe.
I never really bothered to count in the past, but there might be a couple dozen Iksar model mobs in dulak. The Windsorn (one of the boats) has about eight between the ones actually on the boat, and on the ramp leading up to it. The rest are scattered all over the zone. The spawn spots on the boat always spawn Iksars or Dark Elves and each spawn site is always the same model type, so it is easy to plan pulls. I can't remember if the rest of the Iksars in the zone are random model spawns, or fixed, or some of both. But if you go for the iksar models off of the Windscorn and its ramp, you will be running all over the place and making your life difficult. From the eight or so on the Windsorn, my necro got two iksar blood in clearing the Iksar models once. Which is not great, but way better than Warlik's Woods. She was able to tank two at a time dotting and snaring with the pet doing his thing (the necro is not played to her maximum potential, and is mainly an exp sponge, so please no comments abouut the necro tanking.)
Update: I went to Warslik's Woods, and killed all the fixed place iksar in the various ruins which are around the zone, and the fixed place and wandering iksar in the cave to the south. Maybe twenty iksar in total. Not one iksar blood. So years after EClapton posted, there is still either no iksar blood or very little here in WW. Which is what EClapton said, I was just hoping it had changed. It would have been nice to be working in the kitchen, hear the audio trigger go off when the iksar attacked my necro, and then loot the corpse when the pet had finished him off. O well. Off to Dualak. Necro is gimp, but maybe the pet can do one in, or at least not die until I get there to supervise things.
wow, I get them quite often in Dulak off of the dock guards that roam near the Ocean boat/sorters area.
I'd be happy to part with my collection of iksar blood for some plat (I'm on the Rathe) or I'll trade for simialrly valued amounts of other smithing components (My smith skill is only 180).

Yeah, it's kind of rare.. But moreso because of the lack of easily killable mass Iksar mobs. With a little patience this stuff can be found in a lot of different places (so far, I've found it on Iksar everywhere I have killed them including Field of Bone newbie area). Happy hunting!
Of all the temper items this is just too rare. As a guild we camped the mines for a whole day and not 1 Iksar slave spawned, was told by someone that they stoped that spawn.
Only 4 places I have seen this drop ( I am a cultural smith ) are: Seb off the Iksar Necros Dalnir off the Coerced Necro Iksar Nurga off Iksar Slaves WW from the Bandit Lord (Bracer of Scavenging guy)
I went on a scouting trip to the Mines of Nurga and talked to a high leveler there and they said that it doesn't drop more there than anywhere else. I have managed to find 2 from Coerced Iksar in the Crypt of Dalnir. It was kind of a rare drop but considering the ratio of blood drop to Iksar there, it can't really be considered a very rare item, but maybe I got lucky.

This is the rare item for Iksar racial tempers known as Scaler Tempers. You need a good brewer to combine Iksar Blood, Froglok Blood, Sarnak Blood, and Flask of Bloodwater.
