#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 16 2003 at 8:12 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) How does Sony/Verant expect someone who is completely or mostly new to the game (target of the newbie armor quests) to know about this stuff and have the 25-100pp to spend on it? That's just insane!

Note that the recipies for the armor on eqtraders is kind of wrong -- looking at "blessed full mithril" armor, the recipie calls for "enchanted mithril jointing", which does not exist on the recipie page. Hopefully the den mother means "Enchanted mithril CHAIN jointing." otherwise, i'm gonne be out a lotta pps...

The prices on Firiona Vie for these fluctuate from 20 to 100 Each. Most people that I know that are using them are farming their own - occassionaly I will buy them when I see them for 20 or lower...

As stated before - these are used in High Elf Cultural smithing. You combine (1) Swirling Mist - (1) Morning Dew - (2) Essence of Moonlight to make (1) Moonlight Temper (Trivial 136 Brewing).

Items that these are used to make all:

Elven Chainmail (Caster Wearable)
Enchanted Elven Chain (Caster Wearable)
Enchanted Imbued Elven Chain (Caster Wearable)
Koada'Dal Mithril Plate Armor
Enchanted Koada'Dal Mithril Plate Armor
Enchanted Imbued Koada'Dal Mithril Plate Armor
Artkeeper's Mithril Chain(Caster Wearable)
Blessed Artkeeper's Mithril Chain (Caster Wearable)
Full Mithril Plate Armor
Blessed Full Mithril Plate Armor

All recipes for these can be found at:

I hope this helps :)

On Xegony, these sell in the bazzar for anywhere from 35-100pp each. Luckily I have never paid for one yet. They are a rare drop off of a semi-rare spawn in Steamfont - Steam Elmentals. Not worth hunting ther efor them. Nagena is OK, if you have the time. I go in there occationally and offer buffs for them, but this place is not often camped on my server. The Giant Water Elemental in L-Guk drops these about halfthe time. On a 30 minute spawn, that makes one an hour. The Plane of air offeres a few mobs that drop them much more commonly as well as Twilight. My smithing is still below 200 so I haven't been needing enough to camp either place yet.

If you are a High Elf smith and plan on making that sweet armor, start looking for the stuff you need at early levels and get your brewing up. At 190, I have only failed twice in over two hundred temper and essence combines. Making and selling tempers to other racial smiths is a good source of income and more items for making tempers.

This was a good lesson in researching loot before hunting.

I spent 2 hours grinding down elementals in the Twilight Sea for XP. Filled two sets of 5 8-slot backpacks and 2 dimensional pockets full of spiny weapons, lava rocks, pearls, jade shards, and swirling mists. Must of had 10 of them, and was fairly disappointed that they only brought a couple gold at the castle merchant.

Now I see that instead of the few gold, they go for 28-100pp. That was 280-1000pp that just went *poof*.

Moral of the story: If you are looking for these mists, ask the stupid mage at the base of the castle in the Twilight Sea. He/she may have 10 or more that they might be dumb enough to just give to you. They were a fairly common drop.

These drop like crazy off of the Mist Elementals in Najena. I would say it drops of of 80-90% of the mobs. Most mobs in Najena respawn every 17 mins as do these guys.

Enjoy...

I have sold multiple vials from 10pp to 50pp each. There is a player on my server who offers 100pp a vial if only you have any at the time! Usually find a buyer immediatly after sending out auction. People who need these are likely to have the plat. to afford at least 35pp. Great way to make some money.

one swirling mist, one essence of moonlight one morning dew to make the temper for smithing Elven racial armor. worthless to you unless you have a very high Brewing skill. then a very high smithing skill. They can be sold to vendors for a couple plat like the message above I wouldn't even consider buying them for more than a few plat just on principle smithing is already too expensive. I can have my teen level chars camp the steam elementals to get them as they level. Gemmer Goldbar enchanter Karana server

Actually, it's 1 swirling mist, 1 morning dew and 2 essence of moonlight. Trivials at 135 brewing like most other tempers.

To date, I've seen 1 in the several hours I've camped for them, but refuse to pay the 40pp price on Tunare. It's okay with me though as it keeps the value of elven cultural high.

I was killing steam elementals in Steamfont Mountains and received 3 of these in about 30 kills while gaining 3 lvls there. I would consider this a rare drop. I sold one to a npc got nothing for it and sold one to a player and got 50pp he said he uses it for armor that is worth 8000pp Thats all i know. I thought he said dye but dont remember. You can get them in steamfront and only off the steam elementals which you need magical weapons to hit.
Rare as heck

I am a fledgling smith (175) and a High Elf Chanter. I spent 8 hours in najena and got one of these; other temper components are foraged or much more common drop - but 30 plat for one is obscene. Every attempt at a piece requires a temper and the cost of smithing is already ridiculous because the trivials are so hi. They need to up the drops on this item.

High Elf Cultural Forging
# May 07 2001 at 5:52 PM Rating: Default
The swirling mist is used to make the temper for the koada'dal (high elf) smithing. It perportedly drops off any misty elemental of any sort (mostly associated with Najena and Steamfont Mountains). As far as price? No clue. As there are still relatively few cultural smiths on the servers, finding a buyer can be difficult. HOWEVER, they are a rare drop and therefore probably worth a bit to a buyer should your find one. Speaking for myself, personally, I would pay 20 to 30 plat for one.

The need for these things is fairly new, so I expect that price was eventually stabilize at some point...but what that is now on 5/7/2001 I have no clue.

I got this off a mist elemental in Najena and someone told me it is used for elf chain mail, it is a temper. I'm not sure how accurate this is. I just was wonder what it is worth. If you want it I'm on MT server.
