i almost restarted my wood elf druid for a halfing druid(coolness factor) but once i seen this quest i decided not to. cant beat free root
RE: cool item
# Oct 21 2001 at 12:04 AM Rating: Decent
Not to mention that almost every cool druid quested item is halfling only, akolyte anklet, etc. But this is an exception =) makes being a wood elf well worth it

Im a halfling druid! I want! At least give me a Symbol of Karana or something, Aviak Charm sucks pretty bad compared to this. I need no drop!
quest
# Jun 02 2001 at 10:46 PM Rating: Default
this is awesome. i can root for no mana and keep rooting it and kill it without ever using a drop of mana. it has been a life saver. collecting 4 ghast hearts was annoying. finding the courrier was even more difficult and being level 32 for the this part meant i didn't want to go into MM or SolA by myself. as for the caustic fluid if you get a good group together you don't even have to go into MM. i was waiting outside while my group leader went in to investigate the next thing i know he came running out with a dark offerer and that part was done within 5 minutes of getting to the gate. as for sola no more camping the large fire goblin you can get easily off a young goblin had a 40warrior go down with me and got it within 10minutes of being there down in a room that looked like a bar.
hope this helped

I'm a dwarven cleric of brell.

I understand that this symbol is tunare only to equip, but can I use the affect as long as it's in a main slot in my inventory? Also, anyone have any idea what faction I will need for the quest? Perhaps amiable because of the low level of the starting quest?

Thanks,

No it has to be equipped to use it, returns the "You cannot use this item unless its equipped." Message.
Pouch of red dust
# May 19 2001 at 11:20 PM Rating: Decent
THEY FINELY MADE THIS QUEST REASONABLE. apearently the dust is dropped of things other than the large gobblin now. was in SolA camping the goblin and someone shouts they have 2 pouchs. Well, it turns out it id dropped from normal mobs now (which ones i can be sure, but got 1 more with him, so seems like getting a decent group and clearing some non nameds is a viable option) I am pretty sure they wearnt of any kind of solusk goblin. well, finely got my symbol shortly afterwords. good luck to all of you.

OUTSTANDING walkthrough!!

Only one correction and that is you do not need any brewing skills to complete it.

Does the Braided Ivy cords really sell for 400 plats?? Man I killed thistle and gave like 4 or 5 away during my time trying to kill the Ghasts and the necro.

this was an excellent walk thru. i got my warden of tunare before i read this but would have been awesome to see this it explains everything very well. as for the brewing tho i had absolutely no brewing skill and was told i didn't need one. i went to the brew barrel and combined everything as i was supose to and still got the substance needed to take to trilani so if that helps anyone that doesn't have a brewing skill cool.

How do you do this darn quest?
# Apr 23 2001 at 12:16 PM Rating: Default
Ok, I know I need the red powder from the Fire Goblin Wizzy in Sol A. But what is this "caustic substance used by the Dark Offerers in Mayong Mistmoores" I need from Mistmoore and this "white hellebore." Where do you get this "white hellebore?"

Please help me out here.

Thanks
#Anonymous, Posted: May 13 2001 at 2:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) You an also get the Hellabore off the gnolls inside paw. The first two drop it on a regulary. Been killing these with my Shaman and to date have about 12 of the hellabore after 20 or so kills. Just have to watch out for the trains :-)
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 29 2001 at 11:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) White hellbore comes from the gnolls in lake rathetear.

White Hellabore is dropped off gnolls in the Lake Rathe zone. Just go to the gnoll camp and word-of-souls it and you're pretty much guarenteed to get some.

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 20 2001 at 11:27 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Well, take it as a flame or not but where are the other Gods' items? I'm already jacked outta the badass PoG equip as a Halfling (Karana), now Tunare people are getting even more quests in Felwithe. This item probably sucks a hard one for a blue server, but I play on PvP and NO DROP items are a must-have. Plus manaless root is nice, regardless of the level of it. Hopefully Verant will realize not everyone worships Tunare eventually....

Morb is right about this quest. I have the acolyte's anklet and it took me 2 days to get the fac in Rivervale to get it. Being a cleric of Brell, I dont get ANY deity specific no drop. Oh sure I can get no drop but I want stuff that has Brell's name on it. Verant has screwed most of the other deitys out of nice stuff. Oh yea Revy before you start again, at least you can do quest for your god.

Other Gods Jacked? My Lord and Father Innoruuk has blessed my order of Clerics with the Regent Symbol of Innoruuk 7ac 3wis 2int cast Clinging Darkness. I believe they are bringing items for all the mighty Gods. Obviously the diety of Halflings is as small as you.

You MAY be able to do the quest, if you have sufficient faction with the Priests of Tunare. But it will do you no good at all - the item will, like all religion-specific items, need to be equipped to activate it - which you won't be able to do.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 20 2001 at 3:05 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Oh, and as a PS, please dont flame me, it really pisses me and a whole bunch of other people off, besides, you could prolly be playing eq instead of making other people feel bad :P
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 19 2001 at 5:13 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) would you go into a kids clothing store and complain there were no clothes for adults? of course not, cuz the clothes there are made for kids... as this quest is made for Tunare worshippers. gg.
#REDACTED, Posted: Apr 19 2001 at 2:47 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) For those of you who are whinning that you can't complete the quest because you don't worship Tunare grow up! My god people.. I've never seen so many morons gather together before.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 19 2001 at 2:11 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) this is retarded! i have a cleric that could easily do this quest and would welcome the item! but no i'm a dwarf that worships brell serilis. come on verant lets have some common sense! /rude Tunare

plus this with ES gloves and Vambracers? hehe.. if you are paitent enough mana free kills all day long. only have to cast SoW or Wolfy Form.. 8)
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 19 2001 at 9:53 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) wtf no halflings???!!! i hate verant always ******** us hobbits. they make an awesome item but limit to the other classes when halflings need it the most. i am pissed off!!
RE: WTF!!!
# Apr 19 2001 at 10:24 AM Rating: Default
Think before you post. Halfling druids and clerics are not worshippers of Tunare. Wouldn't it be more of a slap in the face to make halfling one of the races for the item and still have it limited to Tunare-worshippers? And Halflings need items more than any other race? Are you convinced that the sun revolves around your character too? You seem to be the kind of person who will be pissed off no matter what, so get the net, get a helmet, life sucks, shut the **ck up. (Last quote inspired by Dennis Leary, so props to the ever-ranting one)

Damn Whiners, I play a 52 Halfling druid on Mithanial Marr (alicard Lonewolf). i can't wear this piece...so what? who cares? There will be things we can wear. Quit whining. People like you who think you should have everything give good players a bad name. Quit playing a druid then, at least then people will stop having negative connotations with the class.
If you are angry because you are a halfling druid and cannot wear this. QUIT, PLEASE! lol

The Nariak Quest has an effect of Clinging darkness, no where near as good, but it is also a much easier quest to accomplish. I don't envy the Tunare worshipers this quest, sounds very difficult in comparison.
i want both of the effects on this one!
# Apr 19 2001 at 6:03 AM Rating: Default
ok, i was pretty excited when i first saw this quest. i had killed a ghast in LFay on a routine rez trip to MM. i looted a heart, and did what i do with everything else i loot that is no drop, i put it in a bag in the bank.

then i read about the new quests, and saw the the first two symbols had an effect of save versus poison and disease, that stacked with all other resist buffs! then i got really excited. the idea that i could have a neck with ac wis and two 15+ resists! wow, the 15+ came from the idea that the third piece would be just and upgrade to the first two.

i have to tell you, resists are very hard to come by. i refuse great group opportunities everyday because my resists are horrible. granted disease and poison aren't great ones--other than specific enemies =)--but 2 15+ resists on one piece, and i didn't have to buy it. resist gear is expensive. i have camped ever easily obtainable piece of resist gear i can, small guild, and a cleric to boot, camps are rough on clerics with small guilds. what i have found is my wis drops in huge chunks when i put on my resist gear.

but i do have to say, a manaless root is nice. i think, i will have to get both. wonder if you can do that, prolly from the way i figure, just redo quests after getting 3rd piece. use the resist effect neck for those specific enemies, and this neck for everday running around and leveling =)

plus, i think no-drop stuff is cool!
Nice Piece of eq
# Apr 19 2001 at 5:12 AM Rating: Decent
Clerics can get the goblin soulcaller but the AC on it isn't as high. A bit better for wis and some nice saves though.
Even with that I'd definately take this. The effect is very nice. A life saver in those tight situations.
excellent item
# Apr 19 2001 at 5:07 AM Rating: Default
I'm 53 and I don't have a peice as nice as this. The effect is great. With the high MR velious mobs you can lose a good bub of mana just by rooting after resists and quick breaks, unlimited root is a mana and spell gem saver.
The Recommended Level Is A Bit Low
# Apr 18 2001 at 6:07 PM Rating: Default
To camp the goblin king in SolA you should be about 30ish at least or you'll get your butt handed to you. 18 is a suicide level to complete this part of the quest, I would suggest 40 or higher so you can at least solo the spawn, not many groups are willing to stick with you for 24ish hours for the large goblin to finally drop the red dust, hehe

agreed anon...as well as the items you need from MM...no one should be questing in MM at 18 w/o some big bodyguards..

But sweet diety piece...this should be a must have for all Tunare loving DRU and CLR's until (I'm guessing) post 40 or so. Not sure if better neck exists that isn't a quest item pre-40.
wow...
# Apr 18 2001 at 5:25 PM Rating: Default
::Drools:: Unlimited Roooooooot....AC 7 on the neck is pretty good too...better than Reinforced on neck...I'm going for this right now!
