Happened a while back, but I got this really nice cloak from a GM event (of course) in which i was basically the messenger of Lanys T'Vyl. She appeared in west commons looking for a dark elf to do something for her. The first dark elf she chose was found to be married to a high elf so was discarded, the next had just left so couldn't get the job. She then chose me. I delivered her message to Queen Christanos Thex (sp?). She branded me a traitor to the Tier Dal and basically gave the /bird to Lanys. I took her response back to Lanys (didn't actually get /bird as response but thats what the queen basically said) she gave me a coin which i gave to vorshar the despised and got the cape. Funny thing is sir Jevik was firionia vie's friend and now i'm a dark elf shadowknight wearring a human paladin's cape...go figure!
I got one of these too, from the Firiona Vie event on E'ci (you know, when she came to Felwithe). Really nice back item. I dunno if others were given out or not.
Just had to comment on the overall coolness of that quest and the fact that they basically talked a young impresionable knight into doing the deeds of an essentially evil sect. It made for a great story. Reminds me of being a low lvl rogue from Halas and killing Paglan and the shock when the negative faction for Order of the White Rose came up, heheh, live and learn. Still would be nice if there was a continuation or some other ramifications to the young Palsdin's quest.

Look at the morons that participate in their events! What I read in that log was a complete and total mockery of roleplaying. It just goes to show that EQ is NOT an RPG, but rather more of an action/adventure game. You know, sometimes I wonder what people are even playing the game for, you read that log, heck, I read the comments posted on these boards, and the average IQ of he posters would seem to be around 90. THIS is what television does to our youth and I find it fairly disgusting. American entertainment caters to the inept and inarticulate, people who don't even barely know how to spell, let alone express themselves verbally to any effect now can play EQ after they watch their professional wrestling for the night!
I hate to break it to you Mr.Superiority but average IQ-by the definition of IQ is 100. This means a 90 isn't very low.
And yes EQ doesn't seem to be a lot of roleplay. But chill-cripes, its a game. GM events are for newbies anyways. I haven't seen much other than this that has come from a GM event and is worth the time and effort it takes.
Correct average IQ is 100, so 90 isn't very low. You know 90 is for the 35% of the morons out there that survive in the real world, and it seems make up 75% of the Norrath population. It's a shame that we HAVE to play with the 90 IQ idiots. Cause it's these people that play the level 25 Bards in full lambent and singing steel that don't know how twist songs. And it's these people that play the monks, that when you say hey just feign pull from the room they act like they've never heard of it before. And it's these people that play enchanters that insist AE mezz is the worst spell they have, and they refuse to even memorize the spell. So I'd say that if we removed these 90 IQers, we'd all have a much better time of this game. Amazing what 10pts in IQ can do.
That Paladin that won this and his/her friends read like they don't have a clue with how to act, etc. Ironic they would even let him win this item for helping an evil NPC and not even roleplaying a fallen Paladin.
So this is the paladin of the Temple of Life who with the help of just one other brought the plague of Bertoxxulous to Qeynos and the Karanas. Kudos to the GM's. AHAHAHAHA!! A Paladin of Rodcet Nife going into the Halls of Heroes for betraying the beliefs of his god. Just tooo rich...
for a GM event give out this is not that good. you would think that a GM event would give out some sweeter gear then this but no, i guess that verant wants us to earn everthing
The actual GM Event was most interesting and actually explains why there is a green fog in North Karana.
To see the full log from the person who gained the item take a look at http://www.geocities.com/munchkinklaria/gmevent.html and don't make too many jokes about the fact that a Paladin from Rodcet Nife is responsible for a plague on the plains.
How dare a paladin of life assist someone on such a sinister deed? Sell his soul for a cloak or riches ... may his deity forgive him against the sins and transgressions against all affected by this plague.

Heh, this event definitely sounds like it was fun! I had heard of others doing this event and wasn't sure why it was done (they never explained it in detail), now I know why and it makes sense, thank you for the link. Not a bad cloak either! It is kind of funny that a follower of the prime healer thought helped to spread a plague around.
