The graphic is the same as regular banded mail - just got them tonight. Nice bit of armour, only tricky bit was finding all the bits on the ocean floor!
True. The two cleric/paladin guilds in Erudin are among the most difficult in the game to raise faction with. Outsiders don't really have any ways to get in good with them, and if you are in one of those guilds, woe to you if you mess up your faction. It probably doesn't really matter much, though, because so few people play Erudite paladins or clerics because it is so hard to level them until you start acquiring good gear to compensate for their weaknesses.

The reason to be a Deepwater Knight is the prestige. Not many of them out there, are there? So who ever plays one must be pretty good. Besides, roleplaying is all about creating another persona. So if you want to play an aloof, refined knight who really stands out in the group, try it. I did, it was great!
Doesn't really matter though, since Clerics and Paladins have to select a diety during character creation. I don't know if there's any other "good" gods available to them than Prexus.
How can you heathens mention good Gods without voicing the name of THE Mother of All, Tunare? I find it appalling that those who claim to be pure of heart would forget about her. It deeply saddens me, but I will just assume you were having a temporary memory loss due to old age or too many blows to the head. I will pray for you all. =) May Tunare bless you.
Well, the 'Midnight' part of it suggests the Heretics just as much as 'Sea' suggests Prexus, in my opinion. Certainly more than it suggests Paladins, anyway.
Or, if you take "Midnight" to refer to the color, as in the color of the midnight sea, and the Erudite paladins of Prexus are the Deepwater Knights, then Midnight Sea strongly suggests the Erudin paladins of Prexus and not the Heretics at all.
