my guild is starting to farm tormax, honestly i wouldnt be surprised if a necromancer sent a tell for this item. they could use the HP. chanter could use the hp/ac. im a 58 mage, 251 int, and i would love to get this ring mostly for its nice +mana, the +hp is very useful for vs AoE, and having svm means i can use it instead of a diamond ring so more hp/mana for resist gear setup.
this ring, despite its mage effect, is a very nice ring for any caster. by the level your guild works up to tormax this ring would be a reasonable upgrade. granted theres probably lots better in a matured market, on a newer server this item is good for the target.
I'm confused. I recently returned to EQ after many months in the wilderness and reactivated my lvl 49 mage. I discovered that my old Robe of the Elements had Summoning Hasste II - not much use as it only goes up to lvl 44 so I searched here for the lvl 3 version. Lo and behold, it appears on precisely 3 items - a belt from the Hole which seems more appropriate to a warrior and a quest item with -50(!) int.
Pet casting speed is not of major concern to most casters, but is very useful to a chain-casting mage. It seems a shame that you effectively cannot use the effect over 44 (unless you can get one of these rings, which is very unlikely).

With the latest patch, reanimation haste III, I run a 51 necro right now, and this effect can only be used by necros, now, *if* I happened to be on a Tomax raid and saw this, I would simply say effect only usable by necros. I *wouldn't* ***** and moan to every other usable character out there that decides they want it too, but /shrug why verant couldnt put necro spell effects on necro only items, doh, thats right, key word, verant :/
Summoning Haste III is the Mage pet fast cast effect. However, I personally think the summoning haste/reanimation haste effects should pay little (if any consideration) in deciding these items. No Mage or Necro would wear an item for these effects only (other stats on this ring are nice, but all the listed classes can use those equally)
Dont know where I got reanimation haste. sorry about that, but, I know what you mean about not deciding on who it goes to by *just* a passive item effect. Simply stating that classes with summon pets, which seems to be all int casters after the familiars were introduced, would benefit quite a bit from the effect. Sorry for the confusion.
I think he was jokeing. Paradigm is the best guild on our server and I dont think anyone from that guild would really ask how much the item costs unless there jokeing. BTW, gratz on getting into Vex Thall.
I don't think anyone capable of getting it will sell it anyway, unless it gets to the point where the guild is farming for cash. It will more than likely be handed down to a guildmate, thats what most guilds require with the nice stuff.

A 55 enchanter will add NOTHING to this battle, much less would he actually be awarded this ring, unless the guild was moronic and had an open roll. Gratz on buying your UBER PHAT LEWTZ Caeadin. Lame, annoying pic too btw.
A 55th enchanter would add Nothing to this battle? Sure he's not going to be as fully used as a 59th+ but big deal, he still can do a lot. I can always use an extra person to help out with giving haste, c2, rune, MR, etc... If a 60th Bard isn't there to help me keep mana up. I'm not epic'd yet so I still have to burn mana for haste, and I dont have my Quest robe yet so I have to burn mana for Rune, I'm not lvl 60 yet so I dont have Kodiacs either, so extra help is always welcome.
Besides, this ring would cost way too friggin much to actually buy it anyway, the price would be way too high to even justify the expense, sure, the stats are awesome, but I'd rather earn it in a raid, too bad it hasnt dropped for any of the Tormax raids I've been on =(
I'm a high elf Mage that didn't boost INT at the start but I'm still over 200 by a lot but I do have the very best the old world has to offer, (I didn't play too much after expansions came out) But hey this looks like a nice ring to replace those plat rose ones with, I just have to weasal myself into a few King kills now... Oh yeah and you know whats suprising, I have no planar stuff either and my INT is 210 with all INT stuff on but I traded some of it off already. Its hard to get mage stuff from the planes even though I do have some Uber mob kills behind me and like 5or 6 planes raids under me, most of us still don't see stuff like this though...

Oh, yeah. Yes, i know the chances of me getting this ring are so slim i might as well quest for something else in Skyshrine or somewhere else, or work on something feasable.
Nice ring, seen worse, seen better. I play and eru wizzy (with base int 142, of course) and had my int maxed at 24 (doubt anyone cares) and i'd STILL take this ring, for previously stated reasons of opening up another slot on My char for resist/Mana equipment. That's my 2cp.
personally from a wizards point of view, if your looking at resists, i'd just stick with the standard Vel Diamond Ring, but if you wanna be able to have ac/mana/hps/resists, this is the way to go...
a small thing that i've been warned about, make sure you dont forget to work on hps/sta, as you need to be able to last through the aoe's as tanks grab aggro to nuke. ;)

Not at all, this ring is an excellent reward to any casters who assist in taking down Tormax. What you have to remember is that the best thing Tormax drops is his head...this ring, although excellent, is not the main reason to hunt the giant king. If I were given my pick of loot at a Tormax raid (purely hypothetical, of course) I'd take the head, so I can get my Dragonscale boots. 10 int 75m on a finger is a heck of a consolation prize :)
check it out, no pricing data! Has anyone ever gotten this ring ? if so, how much are they gonna sell it for? 50k ? I dont happen to have 50k ish handy to buy the damn thing for one and two ok so we get an uber group together and manage to kill the king, i still have to win the roll right? Dream about this ring is about all most of us will ever do! *sigh*
10 AC, 75 HP and Mana... ON A FINGER? That alone is worth 40k. And your saaying ten int is only another 10k? Nope. The reason that this thing has no priceing information is because the drop is invaluable. You will not find a better ring on the high end that is better. There is no priceing data because one has never been sold. And let me tell you, 150k, at the very least.
Furor was not getting owned if king tormax went berserk, that just means he will riposte a lot for like 10 seconds. King tormax was basically almost dead in this picture, they just kept it on furor to soak the damage. This is a guy with like 1300-1350 ac and prolly like 3500 hps unbuffed. He can take those 600 hits easily.

This is some stupid thing Furor did because he was bored. He titled it "Dinner with the King....Furor makes the King mad, again". So he tried to "persuade" the king to give him phat lewt by attacking him. No one else was there, and there is no way Furor was soloing a king. Besides, his life-bar is at near-full in that pic.

Uhm, what are you talking about? OK, if you're taking this guy down you are most likely 55+. But 8ac on a ring is UNBELIEVABLE!! 60mana and 60hp? Hello, wake up and smell the Clarity! Plus 8int, helps you free up room for HP/AC/STA/AGI gear for us Tomatoe-skinned casters. And I won't say no to extra Sv. Magic.
King Tormax is one hard **** some say he hits for 400's some say 850's ether way this is like higher level dragon encounter (minus the dragon). i don think he has been killed much at all once by the sound of it u need a pretty Uber guild. As for the stats 8ac is nice 7int ok at 55th ya gonna have 200int so you can put this on cause of the 60mana and just change another of your items for more ac or something with an added effect.
Try getting 200 int as a human int caster who has never been to the planes and didnt want to be like everyone else with a starting int of 140+. I am maxxed out at 183 but still need to get gebs which might get me close to 190.
200 INT is easy and i dont have GEBs or a runed cowl i have a human wizard 40 used to be my main and he has 194 int plenty of items out there i know how it is to pick things and find out WOW i made a mistake or WOW that was the coolest thing i did a friend tried to tell me to make my wizard agnostic i was thinking why not follow the god of fire solusek ro worked out well for me i have my imbued fire rings though only 61 str (but i dont need to hit things when i have 1800+ mana at 40) as for humans being hard they can be and they cant it really doesnt matter what race you pick played right that character can rock
I know exactly what you're saying. I'm a human magician with a base int of only 85 (had no idea what int was for when I created him, first AD&D type game I've ever played). I just got my int up to 168 last night by adding impskin gloves and an SMR. Still need GEB, Molten Cloak, Loam amice and pantaloons, runed cowl to replace my elemental binder, gold chitin bracers or golden bracers to replace my PBBs.... all those will get me to 197, but it'll take about a month straight of hill giant killing to get that kind of money =(
BTW, I'm 52... I'd probably already be at 197 if I didn't have so many darn twinks to care for... =Þ
everyone assumes that post 40 everyone has max int. this is only if they spend time in ec, some(about half in lguk) don't get it until post 50 with plane and higher raids, or camping things solo.
Nice ring for us casters even tho most may have already 200 int buy time thay get this at least you can then most likly replace some other int item for hp or mana item
