Really, out of the 4 or so quest items, 3 are weapons. One is a very mediocre 2 hander to boot. I'd rather have a nice shield available instead of a second 1hs. But SK's get a quest 2 hander and a quest shield, which makes very little sense.
i cant beleave that Dwarves keep getting Fu*ked with the weapon thing,All the swords look like crap for the most part, the great looking sword the elven paladin gets looks great Dwaves get screwed and dont even get a sword that is a little bit as good as the elven pally one and now we cant even use this one WTF Thank you Glorymorning Pureheart 55 Paladin Of Brell
only erudites can follow prexus. however think about it, ND is half elf/high elf tunare only, well human and eruitides share NO same dentity so it makes sense that this would be hum/eru only becuase they have to make up for us real paladin races getting screwed on the ND.
Ya... what does this look like... It does look like the Katana in the inventory screen, but this graphic is also used for many weapons that end up looking totally different. Im hoping it doesnt look like a Katana, because the blade looks weak and especially bad w/ a Fine Plate/Ro/Deepwater Look, which is the Paladin's Trademark....
There are _3_ Paladin quest swords in PoA. You forgot Fiery Avenger :)
Personally I'd rather have this 1h over the other. Just for the reason of stat bonuses. Yeah the Dismiss Summoned is nice, but quite honestly who in thier right mind is going to take on a summoned pet (mage/chanter) instead of the caster? Kill the caster because the pet is always weaker (cept low levels). On the other sword post page, someone said that skeletons are considered summoned so killing in Burning Woods in Kunark as well as the Bees there would be awesome... Mental note to that guy "Skeletons might be summoned as pets, but they are NEVER considered summoned. They are undead."
This sword kicks @$$. Can't wait till I go planer (soon)
Not just that. The Hole is chock-full of summoned creatures (any elemental also counts), not to mention the City of Mist and Sebilis (golems). Given that these are among the more popular high-level dungeons, it makes Thelvorn a bit more attractive. You'd be surprised where summoned creatures turn up.

There are 2 Pal quest swords in POA, both with 20/26 and stats, this sword has no proc.. But it is decent enough.. If you guys would stop yer crying long enough to scroll down, you would see the other sword. Since we can't duel wield why would you want both, just to let one rot in the bank?
Ok all, to clear things up i have noticed a lot of crying going on over this and ND. Alot of you sit and say that they feel that they are being cheated because they can not use the sword, and others say that those that can't should shut their faces and grow up. Hmm...? Well friends, i say we all need ta calm down. No doubt at all that the ND and this blade are great weapons. And yeah, it sucks to not have it. But when it gets right down to the balls of it all every class has their own pros and cons. And yeah, if you look closely enough, some classes are obviously better then others. There is no doubt in saying that. But give VI a little break here. I bet not a single one of you would be able to make 14 classes and 13 races come together quite as nicely as they have done. With The Shadows of Luclin expansion comin out, i am sure some of that new equipment will get to all your taste buds just fine. So stop bickering about 2 simple swords. How many pallies acctually wield these blades in the first place? not many. I personally would feel better to have a pally sittin there in my group beatin the shnit outta creatures alongside me with one of these or the ND Instead of the game gettin dull and havin everyone in the group holdin one and fighting the creatures. it'd get boring if everyone had one, and it sure as hell would not be nearly as good if they allowed everyone to wield one.
My two cents are now in, i am prepared to get flamed by all the asses out there tryin ta pick a fight. <Shrug> i won't stoop to the level. I am above it :) and i hope you all are as well.
BTW... this pally weapon is pretty nice... but all you people going through the list of weapons, there are better pally swords... in any case... 1 sword doesnt make paladins better than other races. Im a Pally... we have many dissadvantages. We get like no Direct Damage, at least none worth of anything more than pulling or having fun. And we can either use 1 2hs or 1 1hs, we dont get dual wield... So we can't lay out damage like most of you..... so quit belly ache'n... btw if any of you think that the human/erudite are way better b/c of this sword, there is a corresponding sword for the other races and it is actually better than this one... hehe... Just type in Blade of the and see what comes up

If you would notice and count the amount of erudite paladins on your server... how many would you see? oh i know 5 at this time i see a average of 5 erudite paladins on the bertoxxulous server at one time and im usually the highest one( level 52) thats why they hook us up with special weapons and stuff for us. that and the fact that we have **** *** stats when we start off(high elevs's starting stats are worse) but still thats basicly why they do us a favor or two
You could always quest Bristlebane's Defender, which is also a 1H sword for Dwarven followers of Bristlebane. Half-elves can use Nature's Defender, so I don't get why they complain.
Im a erudite paladin on the cazic thule server and yes i am over levl 20 :) 51 to be excat, alot of you have been saying its messed up other races can use this, well first off erudite paladins dont get many options on a god, and being Deep"water" knights it seems fit we get the blade of the ocean. Second have you ever played and erudite paly? we get some lowered stats if you havent noticed. we can not be a tunar follower so i belive it is good we get a blade to make up for it. say what you will about other races should be able to use but im verry happy they let us use it.
I'm sure no one cares but thought I would post the story on this sword here, since I am a member of Scarlet Horizon. Orth got the Bixie Sword Blade which was 2dmg 6dly, yes thats not a typo 2/6 1hs weapon, it was amazing to see in combat. Because the BSB was such a nice weapon he wasn't going to complete the quest. Well then the nerf bat struck and the BSB became 2dmg 16dly. Since no one had completed the quest to our knowledge yet, he decided to complete it. He is a Half-elf Paladin so pretty much got screwed twice on this. Nerf BSB, can't use quest sword.
Half elves can be Paly's. I know, because Lady Majistquie of my guild is a half-elf Paly. Who are you calling morons exactly? (Re: Post: 'the point') Dwarves are NOT seafaring...they're underground. Kaladim is NEAR the coast, but it's in tunnels is it not? Dwarves are traditionally land-bound creatures. Let's think, people...high elf Palys already had a nice weapon...then Human/Erudite (which, if you'd actually READ something about EQ history, are ALMOST the same race, save that one is more advanced upstairs) Paly's got this...how long do you think it will be before Dwarves and the rest get one? Have some bloody patience, will you? You'll never get past level 20 without it, assuming you've gotten that far. Dwarves are the best race? Heh. When you've even played all of them...let me know. I'll be waiting a while, I'm sure.

#Anonymous,
Posted:Apr 14 2001 at 12:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) As a Half Elf Paladin I would say that YOU are the Moron. Seems people never learn not to say something about things they know nothing about.
so i figure that the reason that this weapon is human/erudite only is that they are considered seafaring races and this is a "blade of the ocean". there are a few other water/human related quests out there. but my question is, kaladim is practically a port city, how can dwarves be excluded? Verant's own booklet states that the Dwarves helped support the elves venture back to Fironia Vie. they obviosly have seafaring knowledge\ability and hence should be able to use a ocean based weapon.
oh and like an erudite would ever let themselves get slaty and slimey sailing the high seas.....just another way Verant nerfs dwarfs in general because we're the best race. "Fight fer right, Drink all night, Yea Brell!" paladins of Kaladim unite!
I understand what you are saying, however though Kaladim maintains a port, it is not a port city itself. This stuff is drawn from popular fantasy tales, and in none can I remember Dwarves being portrayed as a seafaring race. The human city's are of Freeport, Qeynos, and Erudin are right on the water.

I think this should be a dwarf/human only weapon, but you can't get everything you want. Hold on dwarfs.

Posted:Apr 10 2001 at 3:22 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) my condolences once again to dwarves, but don't think this sword makes up for the ***** Tunare's N. Defender. We non-Tunare peeps still don't have a sword that comes anywhere CLOSE to the ND.
