I one group Halls of Testing quite frequently w/ 3 people who each 2box one additional char (war.dru,clr,shm.sk,ench,all 65).

We also regularly do Zlandicar,Sev,Talendor, and several other dragons/raid oriented type mobs and w/ 4 caster/priests in one group you pay attention to AoE's, and in most cases resist gear isnt worth it, and resist buffs seem to cut it just fine.

As far as resisting the AoE's level has much more of a factor than resists.

I have played both a caster and a melee in many situations where AoE mobs and their dynamics come into play and I have never once bought or needed resist gear. Unless you can get your resists to 250+ its not even worth it to lose HP for minimal resists.

In the case of HoT, casters can always hide behind the AoE wall. Our Shaman always just chills right next to the mob, AoE or not. Get the levels first, then you will notice more resists, resist gear in a place like this is futile and uneeded.

I just hit level 55 and went to do HoT with my guild, was awarded the unadorned bracer and came on here to check what faction I needed to get the reward. Lo and behold, its a fellow gnome in the picture! Lol after 55 levels of being dissed by large race tanks I think I've been re-inspired. Thanks very much for the screen shot and inspiration Sanistan.

I just have one thing to say, your all a bunch of noobs! I come here to check and see if anyones posted any usefull information on how to get this bracer yet all I see are posts about how this gnome warrior sucks, how this race warrior sucks, how this one is better than that one, ugh. It's enough to make me sick. Save it for the class discussion page please and there is a section where you can discus about wich warrior race is better and why, blah blah blah. Anyways, I'm goning to post some info about how to get this bracer. First of all, you must be Ally faction with Cov, Claws of veeshan. To get the gems, they'er the same ones you use in getting your thurg armor. Anyways, you have to be lvl 60, and not kos to cov cause there some drakes in the first section wich are on cov faction and con red to me at lvl 58. Would be bad news to your raid forces if you rush in the temple and your kos unless if you aren't allready uber. You need to kill these guardian worm type dragons to get the unadorned plate drops wich are rare and tough to kill. Anyways, goodluck to you all who are trying to get this armor, and I commend the ones who've allready have thiers. Well done.

It isn't so much about level as resists.

I was a MA tank in ToV at level 55 back before PoP etc. I don't care if you are level 65 with 10k+ hps if you don't have the resists you are going to die.

In full resist gear right now I am over 150 in MR,FR,CR unbuffed and the last time I went to HoT, I didn't hardly even get hit by the AoE's, fully resisted nearly all of them.

BTW, I know Sanistan, grouped with him a few times, and have many friends in Unity. That is one bad gnome.

im sorry but a level 65 warrior with 10k+ hp could practically SOLO IN HoT, resists are not that big of a deal trust me on that one, you resist alot just from normal gear, its getting hit that you must worry about, like aways, bards and a resist buff can always get your resists well over 350, sometimes 500
RE: Sigh
# Mar 19 2004 at 10:52 AM Rating: Default
If you have 10k+ hps and you die in HoT, then you and your healer sucks regardless of Resists. The aoe is like 450 hps so its not much different that a round from a PoV Mob. (maybe a bit lower) Good reist for these mobs is nice but if you have the classes (i.e Druid with Protection of Seasons and Bard with there FR,CR songs) you should be fine for resists. AoEs are only a problem if you HP are low then you need the resist because Aoe's plus Tanking damage is going to eat you quick.

Edit: The gnome looks cool.

Takata, you do not need to be lvl 60 to get this armor. Everything else in your post is correct, except for the level. With all the armor out there now with recommended level or required level, to say you must be lvl 60 is kinda misleading to tanks that may already have full thurgy armor and are looking to upgrade. If ya wanna get down to it, a warrior that fires arrows at groups giants in Kael or in GD could actually build up his faction high enough and get this armor at a VERY low level just by MQing. As long as you are ally with CoV, you can do the quest, bottom line. Not flaming you Tak, just lettin other young warriors know. Happy hunting youngsters!!

Just a FYI. It really doesn't matter what level you are..unless you are playing a key roll in the kill. I being a level 47 warrior...have a couple pieces of Unadorned plate. Its all about resists really...that is what you have to worry about. I would say 150+ for melee under 55 and 125-100 for casters. Unbuffed ofcouse.
i am a gnome warrior

nice armor btw...You guys that make light comments of gnome warriors forget we have several advantages we fit in the places you only dream off "Shrink me plz" says the trolls and as far as damage output with 2 sods as my weapon the ogre and troll in my guild try to keep up. In the end we also have tinkerman armor stackable 40 percent haste than gnomes meelee can carry at all times great when shammy and enchanter ant around. So don't pity us, we don't need it. Instead join the gnomes of the world, and watch the tall ones fall.

#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 25 2001 at 8:33 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Alagarn you may have a point on the size of things BUT an Ogre will miss less swings as the Main Tank due to the elimination of frontal stun. Add that to the "few" hundred more HP and it can make a diffrence.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jul 16 2001 at 2:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What about Dorf warriors, they are a nice mix of the 2. Small, strong, pretty hi agi, dex, sta.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 27 2001 at 12:46 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The point of different class in different races is each as their own speciality. Im an iksar warrior. evryone bithcs becaus we cant wear plate and we dont have all that much str. but i got 4 thing to say about that
Idiots
# Jun 09 2001 at 3:43 AM Rating: Default
Anyone that has been on big raids knows these little guys are better, the big fat ogres and trolls get in the way and the other tanks can't get at the smaller mobs cause they are in the way all the time. If they are smart they bring shrink potions, but most of them are idiots. And an ogre or troll only has a few hundred more hit points at most over a gnome or halfling, which is hardly anything for the smaller warriors to panic over.

It's like a controlled enviroment, like a minature of the total society of Earth.
"Hah! He's being unique! He's trying something new and hes got his own sense of style. What a loser."
Don't make fun of him, you conformist bastards. If he has fun playing a gnome warrior (god knows i do) then let him do so in peace. This is a roleplaying game. Not a competition of what Race makes is best for what class. Those of you who make fun of the gnome are idiots, plain and simple. Ignorant fools who fear the unkown. Burn in hell.

Well, when you are wearing some of the best equipment in the game, the only real difference between a Gnome and an Ogre is Slam and Stun. Both of which are valuable, but how many Warriors can boast 6kHP? Few, I'd bet, heh. This guys can out-tank my Barbie Warrior 10 times over with that equipment.
RE: Gnomes
# Oct 11 2002 at 8:08 PM Rating: Default
Well, when you really get up there, pretty much the only difference is the stun, since Kick>Bash at what, 55? 57? Somewhere around there. Does the same thing and refreshes faster. Now back to my drooling over his nice stuff. (Dwarves rule)
#Anonymous, Posted: May 17 2001 at 10:08 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'd take you bro.,. 47 halfling Warrior
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 22 2001 at 7:18 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ofcourse there must be gnomewarriors out there, I know a couple of em. But good warriors they do not make, not if you compare to the big races, they have just to few hp. My friend has a gnomewarrior and Im a barbarianwarrior, I had 2 cane of tranquils, he had Sword of Skyfire and a Yak. He was lvl 47 and I was lvl 44, the fight ended when both had 1 hp bub left. The armor was about the same, I think the only thing differant was I had rygorr collar and he had dex/agi necklace. I had just 92 agi and he had 119 i think. Still, he was red to me and I manage to keep the fight even. And then think of a troll who regens while he fight. Poor lil gnome.

Cudos to you for your refreshing views)). If everything in the game was all about "the best" in every aspect, classes and gear would be very boring. As a 54 barb war, I know there are better races perhaps, and better gear than what I have, but I have a rockin good time, and carry an EE bag FULL of weapons, all sorts, some are pretty "top of the line" like my new Typhoon and LSoEE, but some are just for playin with, like my KK...Anyway BE DIFFERENT, and dont get caught up in the neverending frustration of not being happy unless everything about your char is "the best"))
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 22 2001 at 7:04 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Damn this gnome look like Bono in U2.....atleast when he had his big goggles at the Achtung Babytour..... :)

He's a rare breed of warrior, true. But who are people going to remember? Another clone (like me: halfling druid), or a tough little gnome warrior with armor visuals seldom seen before in Norrath? One that can give as good as he gets in a fight...

I commend all the gnome warriors (and clerics) for their courage to be different. This little guy has his Epic, nevermind the quest bracer. More than I can say for myself.
RE: You laugh...
# Apr 16 2001 at 7:49 PM Rating: Decent
I agree completely. I currently play a level 30 Halfling warrior, which are a little more common that Gnome warriors, but still rare. In all of my travels, I have seen maybe 2 other Halfling warriors that were above level 10, but have never seen a Gnome warrior above level 6. I might just be in the wrong place, but I doubt it.

And, for you guys who say he looks "funny", who cares? When he finishes kicking your ***, you'll look a lot funnier than he does. :)
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 06 2001 at 1:39 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) waste of good warrior gear if you as me. a gnome, sheesh
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 10 2001 at 2:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Check out his helm, that's the watchman's armor, one of the coolest parts of being a gnome. That's not really a waste of good warrior gear, considering that only a gnome can wear it.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 15 2001 at 7:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well, while it may be a watchmans helm (I've never seen one so I can't say for sure it's not) I *can* say that it has the same graphic ac the quested armors (Thurg/Kael/SS) and as such I really doubt it is watchmans gear...but either way it's no waste...a waste would be if this was a 4th level gnome
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 06 2001 at 7:36 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agree, actually. Gnomes make the lousiest warriors... they should stick to being rogues.
#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 06 2001 at 2:31 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) stfu! god, gnomes need this stuff most of all. almost made me cuss you out. not gonna trick me like that.
