Scars of VeliousWhile wisdom and AC are very important to the life of a cleric one must stress the advantages of dexterity stamina and endurance. Strength is of little importance as the best weapon to use is summoned and without weight.
What is important, as I mentioned above, is dex/sta/enr because with a few well spent AA points allows a wonderfull thing to happen at an amazing rate. That wicked little hammer and it's annimated cousin critical proc's!! That along with a few well placed bashes and Y6 lead to fewer heals and faster kills with incredible mana regen.
Never underestimate a Cleric who refuses to sit.

Why is the faction people say that is needed for this quest and the others is Claws of Veeshan and the Allakhazam's velious armor page says you need Yelinak? Do you need any Yelinak faction or just CoV?

Personally, I prefer the thunder etched guants to these. 1 more AC, extra strength (I'm near enc as is), more rounded resists. Granted, you do lose 34 mana, but overall I like my thunder

ok mate sice when did clerics need str 4ac and 5mr drool 40 mana wowwow theses are simply sut the second best cleric guants in the game the only ones bettre are the vibrating guantlets of infuse

The ac on these stands out along with some fairly decent stat plusses. With Gauntlets of the Black at ac15 with +4str +3 wis it's hard to see these being used a lot but they'll certainly find some use from those who haven't gotten Resonating Gauntlets yet are are willing to sacrifice four strength to get the extra stat modifiers and an extra four ac. Hard quest to finish for the gauntlets but not to bad overall.
Err - why wear Gauntlets of the Black when you can get Shissar Scaled Gauntlets instead? I just got lucky and got the HoT gloves, but I would rather lose 3 AC and gain WIS:2 (over GotB), MANA:40 and HP:40

If you are wearing gauntlets of the black instead of these things, then you have no idea how to equip your cleric and how to play him/her. Clerics need AC and mana, and thats pretty much it. Any cleric, by the time they are able to actually get these gloves, will have so much wisdom to play with (probably a 90% likelihood you already have your epic, pow 25 wis right there) that they don't even WANT more wisdom on their armor, they want mana. With very few exceptions, these gloves have the most mana a cleric can wear on his hands, and coupled with the AC, you are talking about one of the best sets of clerical hand-wear in the game. Not even mentioning the other benefits, such as hps and resists. Gaunts of black and these baby's shouldn't even be in the same sentence, unless you are saying how much they suck in comparison.

Gauntlets of the black are like you said.. now compare them, str yes but other then str these beat it hands down.
