As far as slots go, the rough order of rarity (from lowest) seems to be: Bracer, boots, hat, sleeves, legs, bp/robe.

As far as the silk/leather/chain/plate rate, it's based on the number of classes that can wear that piece.

Plate: Warrior, SK, Pally, Cleric, Bard
Chain: Ranger, Rogue, Shaman
Leather: Druid, Monk, Beastlord
Cloth: Chanter, Mage, Wizzy, Necro

So there's a ~26% chance of silk dropping.

As for the slot drops, that's in my experience. People may beg to differ ;)

We have a running joke about plate hats... we have about 6 in the guild bank for MQ lol

Anyway, g'luck out there, may your drops be plentiful ;)

The silk pants drop regularly, I've seen a couple drop in only a few trips to ToV.
The robe seems really rare tho :(

how hard are the tattered silk pantaloons to get? if they are not really hard may as well save my 3 neophryte and wait till i can find these, instead of the arch mages pants in thrug

They drop in part of Temple of Veeshan. Was there last night for about 3-4 hours (not counting the wipe as we were about to leave :) and i think 4 quest items dropped, maybe 3. Everything we fought was red cept maybe 1 yellow i think. (several over 60). It's very hard compared to the arena in kael so If you have good thurg faction, do that one first and work up to the SS version later. Nephrite is pretty easy to obtain.

so with Velious it seems to be that:
If you want High AC: Side with Kael Drakkal
If you want midrange EQ: Side with Thurgadin
If you want High Int/mana combined: Side with Skyshrine

and heck you can up skyshrine and thurg factions at the same time, something i've been doing for a while since it seems the giants were always KOS to my quellious loving butt

and sorry, this has to be said:
I think i just prestidigitated in my pants.
