# Jan 08 2015 at 6:06 PM Rating: Decent
If anyone is interested, this dropped today in Old Seb from the frog krup knight.

Does NOT drop in Dalnir according to SOE support:

I tried to contact you in game, but you were not available. I see the Adamantite Bo Stick dropping in Old Sebilis, but not in Crypt of Dalnir. I hope this information helps to resolve this issue and good luck to you!

Good info on this post. I would like to know the best way to use it though - tried it with my 36 BST and it proc'ed 3 times during a fight in Gunthak which starts to eat away at those hps pretty quickly. Is there a way to use it and step back to avoid dmg? Or is it just a matter of taking the bad with the good? Thanks for any instruction.

I know this is over a year ago asked, but yes. You can step back a bit and avoid the 2nd and 3rd rains. The trick is to be able to still swing it at the mob while avoiding the rain. It is possible to avoid the 1st rain too, but hard to do.

Back in the days of Kunark being new (when 225pts of dmg was still within an inch of your life), this was known as "the suicide stick". lol

This was my monkey's main 2hb training weapon back when he was in his 30s and hunting Warslilks and Dalnir.
NOT PVP DMG
# Oct 24 2004 at 12:54 PM Rating: Decent
you don't take PVP you take full just like a wizard nuking himself. My BST had one of these and even twinked he will get hit for 75 from time to time

This is definately not sold at the 2 vendors noted. I'd send the correction in but I can't email by just clicking on the link and I'm too lazy to do it manually. ;)

Yep, procs at level 30, 75 point MR rain. Really only useful for fighting giants. I used it with both my bst and my monk while fighting at the fort in FM. Lemme tell you, even tho they resist alot it helped immeasurably when soloing. Any mob giant sized or bigger means that when it procs, it's centered on that mobs upper body, which puts you out of range of the AE. Very nice.
Also not that bad of a ratio for a fairly easy to find weapon.

Levels for effects or procs don't go based on class. It is level 30 for monk and beastlord. When it says "Your will is not strong enough to command this weapon." it means that at that moment if you were level 30+ it would proc Lightning Storm. This will only happen in combat by the way.

This does NOT affect party members and it'll proc both in and outdoors.

For killing Giants, this ROCKS. I spent over 4 hours in Rathe and only one wave of one attack did I ever get too close to the target and take damage myself (35 hp damage).

Also I didn't know this, but it's not 75dd like the listing says above. It's 75dd x 3 waves or 225dd over 3 ticks.

Most of the time, this went off twice a battle with ~130 DEX which equates to 75 x 6 = 450 damage per fight with proc alone!

BTW, my warder (pet) appeared to be immune from the effects. Never harmed him once.

2 questions I still have on this:

1) Can a party member take damage from an AOE spell you cast (or just yourself)?
2) Does this work indoors or just out?
LIGHTNING!!!
# May 24 2003 at 10:17 AM Rating: Decent
I got the bo stick at around level 20 or so and got up to 30 with it. We decided to quit using at 30 so I wouldn't kill myself with it. But, figured what the heck let's give it a shot. I love that stick! Even though I have killed myself a couple of times with it, (You have been slain by Barracuda??? OHHHH.) it's really awsome.
That 75 damage proc is very deadly. I got my magic resist to over 100 and my shammy friend bumps it up to 133. Also he gets my dex to about 180 with his dex buff. I have yet to stay out of its proc while fighting. But if you got a healer to support you like my shammy, I say proc away. This weapon slaughters things. (INCLUDING YOURSELF!) But its still alot of fun. I figure the couple of deaths, (Ok Ok maybe couple of dozen) have been worth it. If you have some money, grab a temperance buff in POK and you can take some proc. If you wanna kill something that's kinda pathetic as far as resist go, the geonids (if you can get to them) in crystal caverns are pretty good. Me and my friend were killing those things while they were red cons fairly easily and they have crap resist. But they can hit hard and I get haste while the mob gets slowed and that makes a HUGE difference. If you go in crystal alone go with a good fd skill or a slightly higher level than 30. Have fun and remember these two sayings, Lightning! and HEAL ME!!!!!

If you MUST use this staff, when it procs, just back off. Run back a little, let it do its 3 waves, then fight again. Simple.
I don't like this thing.

I had this for a long time as I worked my way up, and while it was an ok 2HB for a low level, I was really looking forward to lev 30 when it started procing. Well, I finally got there, and what a letdown.

Yes, I'm aware of how to avoid taking too much damage from it, and in fact when I slapped on my resist gear and jacked my resists up to 70-80, I was usually taking about 25 pts of damage instead of 47. My problem is that the mobs resist the lightning storm quite frequently -- at least partial resist 75% of the time, I'd say, fighting stuff on the ledge in OT and at the giant fort in FM. So I'd end up with damage to myself, none to the mob, and all of the aggro. No thanks. It's possible I was just unlucky with the mobs, but I've had enough, I'm shopping around for something with a better dmg bonus and dmg/delay ratio now.

NPC Vendor
# Mar 24 2003 at 2:38 PM Rating: Decent
Is this info correct that you can buy this from an NPC vendor in Thurgardin? Can anyone confirm this for me, or if decent faction is required to purchase at a reasonable price. Thanks in advance.

Not likely, someone probably just sold it to the NPC. They're available in abundance at the bazaar for 100 pp or less on my server, just go get it there.

When Does it Proc?

Level 30. Its AoE so you can get caught in the blast radius. Mob takes full damage. You take PvP (about 2/3 dmg). It is possible when fighting giants to stand just outside the AoE and still hit the monster.
what lvl does it proc at???
# Feb 02 2003 at 5:44 PM Rating: Decent
i have a 26 monk with it and i would like to know when it procs.

When you click the link that is given for the proc it tells you everything about the spell. It says level 24
RE: what lvl does it proc at???
# Feb 21 2003 at 8:51 PM Rating: Decent
The spell level is not the same as the level the weapon with it starts to proc. My monk is lvl 28 and the proc does not take yet, so it can't start at 24. Someone else mentioned 30 and that seems likely.

Procs damage
# Dec 01 2002 at 1:18 PM Rating: Decent
I have one of these on the KB server. Did know what lightning storm was. Friend gave it to me. Cool stick if you doing more then one mob. But for singles, you will get your *** kicked by the mob. AOE does 75 to target, but if you don't have good resists, then you take some damage,as I do. And if it resist, then you take the dam and it does not. Good weapon until it procs. I do some good dam with it. Selling mine for 500 on KB since they seem to be rare find. Either ppl like em and are holding them, or they have not dropped much.

Good luck to all that have it.

Was given this today by guildy. Effect on mine say Smite. was it changed? also if memory serves smite is a low level cleric harm spell. may be wrong but if so this piece was severly nerfed as smite doesnt hit for anywhere near 225 damage. as i said i may be mistaken about the spell smite but im positive by stick has the smite effect.

Good Find
# Aug 11 2002 at 7:47 PM Rating: Default
Bought this in the Bazaar on Nameless for 75pp. Quite a nice find, I am actually able to solo well again as opposed to how I was doing with dual PSUs (even at 25 skill). I'm looking forward to the proc working at 30, but it's going to be a nice weapon and a great way to bring up my 2HB until I reach that point.
