Again, I say.. this is not to be used forever and ever, but the monks I see posting are right. This is free, almost weightless.. MAGIC! .. footwear. If they drop for you, you don't need em, give em to the next naked monk you see in a newbie yard.
They will thank you later.
Why? Because nothing is worse than taking a swing at something and seeing... "You try to hit a Target, but it is INVULNERABLE."
Little peoples don't often know they need magic stuff to hit certain things :) Because some of us forget times when we didn't know what binds were, and when we were thrilled when we earned our first plat. ;) And we forget to remind younger generations what we learned through trial and error.
After trying for some time, I finally got a pair...
...but since I'm at 13th level, they were pretty useless. Turned around and sold them for 15pp and bought a pair of Cured Silk Sandals (4 AC). I'd rather get the additional AC rather than the +1 Dex at this point and I don't Kick anymore.

By the time a monk can get this, they will have at least round kick / tiger strike, which are already magic attacks that do not require magic equipment.
That is true, however there is the issue of Instill Doubt, which requires magical footware to use if the target can only be hurt by magical means. Instill Doubt is basically a regular kick with fear. If you don't have magic footware, you can't ID a wisp or ghoul for example.
well, bagged my dragonscale boots, pulled a zol ghoul and started hitting instill doubt
"You try to kick a zol ghoul knight, but a zol ghoul knight is INVULNERABLE!"
so I'm not sure how you feared a ghoul naked... where was the ghoul at? might be possible that where ever you were fighting they weren't flagged as magic hit only.. *shrugs*
hmm at 53 my monks instill doubt STILL uses round kick.. it's been a while since I tried to instill doubt without magic shoes.. but I'll check on this today if I can remember to...
I was just thinking, and I remember killing Varsoon a while back with my warrior... a monk jumped in to help... I believe he was level 21, though I may be remembering wrong, and when he tried to ID he finished with a jump kick... so I'm more likely wrong than not :P
It also may have something to do with the fact that you have flying kick, period. Instill Doubt itself may change after you learn the skill. <shrug> 8)
