think before being dumb.. i know its hard but just do it. i am KOS to all WW and ToV dragons, u know what that means? i farm ToV armor and WW dragons. before that i farmed Kael armor which the main part comes from ToV. so ur not to dumb to go there, hell i would say ur smarter if u got the ability to kill Ntov dragons and u dont care about the faction, why would u pass up that sort of stuff just for SS armor? and btw ardnboy people can solo WW dragons, a hsammy in my guild farms em, and i think it is possible for a shammy to solo the ones in ToV aswell (not the Ntov ones i mean ent stuff)

Having recently reached level 51, and eager to see more of the world with my older guild brothers and sisters, I have dragged my **** to ToV and Hate on several occasion.

First of all, ToV mobs are W.W.A.A.Y.Y harder than Hate mobs. Hate mobs are like crocs in Oasis, while ToV mobs are the SG's. We easily killed an entry mob in Hate with just three people in the low 50's (two pallies and a druid). It would take no less than two good groups in the low 50's to kill ONE ToV mob. Our guild took the best of our level 60 players in just one group and was able to kill a few entry mobs in ToV - something that people who have been there will recognize as a reasonable accomplishment. Imagine one group of players in the teens trying to kill a spectre or SG in Oasis.

Also, getting to each zone is completely different. Travelling through CS and WW to get to ToV is a terrifying experience. If invis drops, you are toast. I run through there with 20 invis potions ready via a hotkey, and a change of underwear by my computer. Travelling into hate requires a wizzy port - big deal.

So, if you have never been to either place, don't read some of these other posts that say how easy it is once you are uber. The l33test level 60 player with 200 AA points cannot handle one single ToV mob solo. That player will also quickly die running through WW if his invis potion wears off. Anyone who makes it seem like it is any different is a liar.

Actually the run to ToV thru CS and WW is quite easy, as long as you aren't KOS to CoV (which you shouldn't be). If you're KOS and going to ToV, then you either:

A.) Need a mage for CoTH
B.) are stupid.

I run to ToV with no invis, lev, or sow all the time. It's easy. And 1 group can farm east wing HOT now like it's nobodies business.

So please, until YOU have actually done this, dont make comments =P

The first guy said he JUST acquired lvl 51. I doubt his gear is great. I remember that my gear at 51 was total crap... total resists was about 120. So, it would be a fair assumption that people of equal gear would take two groups to do a preliminary mob in HoT, while people who have already been through ToV, or mid-high end SoL, or even some of tier 2 of PoP would be much better equipped to do these mobs with one group than someone who is recently lvl 51 and still has gear that's been bought for 1 or 2k a piece. Wow, that was a long sentence...

ToV vs PoH

I still havent been to ToV, but I have been to PoH, 4 or 5 times. I've seen wipeouts of 6 groups of level 50+ characters on the first floor. And for all the times I've been there, the raid usually ends after reaching the top of the stairs. I've only been on the second floor once for any lengthy period and have never seen a <armor> of the untamed drop.

If PoH's second floor is easy, I wanna join your guild.

Plane of Hate *is* easy. As long as you have a good monk puller, and everyone knows what they're doing (i.e., making sure the high warrior has the mob's attention). If you have a good puller, a good tank and everyone knows how aggro works, Hate gets very boring.

Especially the second floor, since you're slogging through all those mobs, waiting for the drops to *drop*.

ToV, however, can also be easy. If you're there for armor, you're probably setting up shop just inside the door into HoT. The reasons ToV is "harder" than Hate is: a) Mobs have hella HPs, b) They all have a fairly mean AoE proc.

A raiding party that has a hard time of it in Hate is either extremely unlucky, or, more likely, they are not organised and are not following directions as they should.

I'm in a guild that has ToV raids on Cazic...and i sure as hell know a lot of people aren't high enough for them, myself being one of them, and planes raids are easier...so dude, think before you speak and open your mouth after you recite everything in your head.

runnon sentance eh? for all you grammer and punctuational freaks.

ToV vs Hate...
# Jun 27 2001 at 4:17 AM Rating: Excellent
When in doubt, whip it out.
DO BOTH!

ToV is cool...and is one of the toughest raid areas there is. But the stuff doesn't fall like leaves, and then there's the issue of the gems...a pain in the neck.
Also there is the issue of WINNING THE ROLL or, if your guild uses merit (points earned for every raid/guild event) then you have to hope you've got the points.
Advantage to Hate: ONLY THE RANGERS ARE GONNA ROLL/PAY MERIT FOR THIS

And also, Hate rocks - easy to get to and prep for, quick (compared to ToV)

CR seems about the same pain in both places, from the ranger's point of view. Ask a monk or rogue for the real deal.

Also, Hate has good exp there. Yeah, you heard me say it. Good Exp. If you're powerful enough to Farm gear in ToV, then you're powerful enough to /own Hate.

And no, not everyone in uber guilds is 60.

I am in one of the most powerful guilds on Povar, and certainly the best, as far as fun. We have many 60's...but many who are not. And I got a good solid 2 blue bubbles of exp in Hate. Sure beats raiding for 8 hours and getting jack for exp.

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 29 2001 at 4:03 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I'm a ranger, but i can't see why a guild would blow time on this armor when ToV is out there for dragon or giant aligned people and every class can get something. With the shoddy pathing in hate upstairs, unless you're just not creative enough to get past sontalak, this isn't much easier to obtain. Not to mention, from what i hear Inno's drops aren't worth anything unless you're a gnome or somethin. Granted, if you can kill him, it's probably "fun" once in a great while. I just fear all the rangers druids and paladins in guilds whining to camp this stuff. Don't fall for it, aim for ToV or Kael. Just say no to the planes.

ROFL, only problem is that all the mobs in ToV are 58+ right? You've never been there or you wouldn't think that anyone can waltz in there and handle the zone. Only the best of the best on a server can handle ToV and you my friend are not one of them.

*Only the best of the best on a server can handle ToV and you my friend are not one of them.*

How do you know this?? He may be one of the best players of his class in his range. Not everyone who plays the game rushes to 60, belongs in huge guilds or dedicates the hours needed to pull off big raids. To some its just a game they casually play to enjoy the company of others...
