Trooper Scale Breastplate

There is a Barbarian who spawns alongside Commander Streaven as part of the Trooper Scale Breastplate quest.
His name is Frode, and he drops the Ogre War Maul every time he is killed.
He does not appear to exist in the ZAM database, or the p99 wiki. But I've seen him about 4 times (the amount of times I've done the questline), always pathing correctly to outside the front gates from just outside Lieutenant Derakor's room. Streaven and Daelione do not seem to path correctly, and all but one time (which I noted on Daelione's page) I've had to engage them before they went along their projected pathing route.
This is on TLP Mischief.

PS: As I told the other moderator, the Trooper Scale questline is not Ykesha era. It is Kunark era, as the quests are directly analogous to Crafted, but Iksar exclusive.

Ok thanks. Added Frode to Firiona Vie. Do you know what level he is?

As of today it still drops in Najena.
Just did the quest

As an old world player, I wondered whatever happened to the ogre war maul. Now I now.

I am convinced it no longer drops in Najena but indeed through the heads quest. I was in the Ocean of Tears on Seafury Isle hunting the Ancient Cyclops and I ended up killing the ogres. I looked up their heads and VOILA!

This quest is awesome for dwarven faction - I went from apprehensive to indifferent from the turn in - and now I have an old school graphic maul that...ummm, well I'll get nostalgic and donate to charity!

Definitely recommended for faction!

I just looked up every quest with items for a druid from lvl 25 to 30, and every single one is a weapon. and 9 outta 10 are 2hb. NOW how many people (any caster class) use 2hb after lvl 25???
and if ya do why? when you can do Testament quest and get +wis and +mana2. Everyone says druids are the cheepest class cause they can solo well and group well, but i think at this lvl they are pretty boring concidering verant cant make a decent quest for them.

FYI, I'm a level 55 druid using a 2hb, I actually use two of 'em. One is the Staff of the Earthcrafter, which drops off one of the golems in Fear, has nice stats (+15 wis, +100hp, +50 mana). The other staff I use is the Luminescent Staff (procs Lightning Strike, works well for quad kiting). So not all 2hb are useless for druids.

You missed the point. You're 55lvl so a 2HB weapon works for you. At mid 20's it doesn't. Espcially when you consider the Testement of Vanear quest. Ask yourself what weapon was I using at lvl 25? You probably wouldn't consider a 2HB. That was the the point of this poster. At different stages of an adventures life different types of weapons are appropriate. A 2HB is NOT appropriate for his level.Smiley: wink2

I THINK i see what your saying. You have to also take into concideration that most 2 handed weapons have poor stats for casters. Even if a 2 handed weapon has +10 wisdom or +10 int, you can get that off a one handed item. +10 in each hand, or at least 9 (testament of vaneer). Also the delay for skill up sucks AND usually the weight, The last thing a mage or wizzard needs.

Most of the nicer, lighter, lower delay 2 handers are monk and beastlord only. I personaly (As a druid or a cleric) would almost never concider a 2 hander. I dont even fully understand why every Pally feels the need to go 2 Hander. The AC and other stats you can get with a shield may (in some cases) make up for the awe inspiring 2 hander damage. You still get kick, bash and a double attack.

As a Druid I used the Staff of living sand for a while, mostly just for an added DOT. *shrugs*

For anyone wondering why you would actually WANT to use any 2 hander the answer is simple. You draw less aggro because most 2 handers have high delay. That means fewer swings over time to draw the attention of the mob away from the main tank. You don't want anyone other than the MT holding aggro for long periods of time. An off tank can cover until the MT gets the aggro back, but healers and squishies die too easily to take a chance that the mob might turn and face them. The paladin in the above example would be one that is playing the off tank role and not wanting to hold aggro for too long before the MT takes it back. Continually stunning a mob by bashing it repeatedly in the face with a shield also generates aggro, so the traditional idea of the paladin fighting with sword and shield isn't always desirable if the paladin isn't playing the MT role. Also, many of the paladin's nicest weapons are two handed hammers. I have seen many high level pallies running around with hammers and wondered why myself until I asked one.

Maybe because not everyone is a twink. My first character was a cleric, and I was lvl 25 before he got a weapon with wisdom on it (wraith bone hammer). It's not a great cleric weapon, but its a decent one for the levels where you still need to melee a bit.

Note that it has the lvl to obtain as 20.

Think about that for a while, and then realize that most people aren't as bad at coining as you.

Shaman can use most 1 handed axes but their proficiency is determined solely off their offense skill, so they aren't very good with them at higher levels. You'd be better off with almost anything else in your hand but an axe unless maybe it had some mad proc that went off all the time that more than made up for your lack of skill wielding it.
