With the advent of the bazaar the most difficult part of this for me was getting small pieces of velium in order to have the velium studs made. I actually went fishing in CS for the cobalt cod but bought every other component in the bazaar.

I then found a master tailor that will do combines for 500pp per success.

I bought the mask several weeks ago for 50pp, and had the tunic made a couple of days ago. I am now looting/leveling for the small pieces of velium in CC in order to get more pieces made.

Sivle's post is right, i dunno bout othmir, tigeraptor and such armor, but arctic wyvern armor isn't trivial at 250, success rate is 1/3 or so.

Seeing as all those posters don't know what they're talkin bout, i thought'd i'd let you know my opinion--46 shammy btw. This stuff is easily obtainable if you can 1)Get your faction up with cov so you can make it to CS, or just run there invis. 2)wanna pump a thousand plat into it.

Ingredients:
1 Arctic Wyvern Hide--Off Wyverns in CS, soloable by shammy 44+ pretty easily.

1 Cod Oil--Brewed item, 1 Cobalt Cod (fished from CS) and 1 water

1-5 Velium Studs--Smithed item, 3 Velium Bits, 1 Water (Velium Bits--2 Small PIECES of Velium, Coldain Frost Temper buyable in thurg, though it's not cheap, 560pp a stack depending on charisma)

1 Pattern

I've made my studs, total cost of about 700pp, got a stack of hides which cost nothing, and i'm now fishing for the cod in CS. Next just gotta find me a good tailor on Zeb.

So now tell why one can't afford it at a level it's useable?

Hope this helps...

P.S. Iukasmos, you're showing your ignorance saying that Shaman's job isn't buffing, you must be as dumb as your name sounds...

Stats Vs Ac

It is my conclusion through much practiced and well fought groups that at the level to hunt the wyverns and such to make this armor the shaman will be doing very little if any melee combat. Reason for this is simple.

When in a group with tanks one does not immediately cast spells that cause agro. I will usually wait for around 5 seconds to 10 seconds in a fight before I will cast slows, heals or any other things like DoT's and such. This allows my tank to build agro long enough so my spell's do not agro the mobs.

When grouped without a tank me and my friends employ the caster kill method. There are 2 versions of the this combat and it usually only works outdoors because you need enough room to run around. method one is the root, snare, dot method, 2 is the snare, dot, fear method, both work really well and are reserved for when we can't find a tank and decide to hunt outside. I personaly will never go into a dungeon without at least one tank.
This thing rocks !

GUYS I just happen to have one.... its the only one I know of on Rodcet. It looks darker then regular leather tunic with some different pattern items adorned with some nicely placed bronze buckels. If you are intrested in purchasing this.... its NOT for sale. I have had shaman offer me as much as 30k for it. As far as my 2cp go.. I will have this tunic well into my upper 50's maybe longer.... Good hunting and may the Tribunal smile on you....

at the level to be able to make or purchase this, trust me....you will want more than 14 ac as AC is god in the high end game. A shaman casting slow and malo and other debuffs will make ALOT of aggro for himself and will need the AC to be able to take the hits till the melees can grab attention.
Low AC

At the level you can afford this,a shaman needs higher AC than 14 on a tunic.

at the lvl a shaman can afford this, how much hand to hand are they going to be doing? you are going to be looking more at the stats that help you with wisdom, and to resist spells. cuz you buffer/minor nuker.

But as you said, this is also my 2cp
RE: Low AC
# Nov 05 2001 at 12:44 AM Rating: Default
At the lvl shaman can afford this he will realize he's not a nuker, his main job in a group is debuffer, his wisdom worth crap with cannibalize, and he will be spending many of his time tanking.

The only time I was wrong is the time I thought I was wrong.

Any shaman who is trying to tank at 40+ will not be 40+ for long.

The only thing funnier than this post is the fact that a 21 warrior is trying to tell 40+ shaman how to play their class.

42nd Shaman of Karana

p.s. anyone got one of these for sale send me a tell on the Karana server :)

I am an experienced 54th level Shaman (almost 55!) - You're right that shammies aren't really nukers (though our nukes DO help) ... But as far as tanking goes, you are ALL wrong. High level shammies normally do not TRY to tank - but we can sure keep ALL the tanks in the party/raid busy trying to taunt stuff off of us - and we end up tanking quite a bit. Honestly, we have a fair amount of HP and can wear some decent armor, so tanking isn't totally out of the question, but I'd much rather have some meatshield in front of me so I can finish casting my next huge-taunt spell: Malosi (so the REAL nukers can nuke without getting resisted, and so MY spells land the first time), Turgurs (SLOW those attacks down - this one is HUGE for aggro, and you'll be glad it slows 'em down when they start swinging at you), and then add Ebolt, Plague, Scourge, and nukes to taste.

If I start with Malosi, root, Spear 'em (epic - doesn't cause any aggro initially, but when the damage starts piling up, they get pretty mad), Slow/ebolt them, re-root, plague them, and then start canabalizing and medding, they nearly always run for ME when that root breaks - and frankly, I don't always mind. I CAN tank a bit, but it gives my dog, my SK friend, and the rest of the party/raid a bit of a chance to beat on it without retaliation. A good tank can get it off of me in melee, but I can't always sit down to med until he's held its attention for a while.

In sum: shammies DO tank. We don't always want to, but sometimes we HAVE to.
. I just don't like it when it's a Protector of Zek beating on me, hehe.
- I'm wearing a Blood Weave Tunic currently, and I love the WIS & stat/resists, but I'm looking at this page today because I'm looking for AC - to help me tank! Have fun out there.

Arctic Wyvern Hide ( wyverns in cobalt ), Cod Oil ( cobalt cod + flask ), appropriate pattern, and 1-5 VELIUM studs ( 5 for tunic )

And being this thing has more wisdom than the kunark BP and +10 str and +whatever to all sorts of stuff, Id price this thing around 15k, stats + the raw time the tailor put into getting their skill above 200, should be worth more

#Anonymous, Posted: Apr 06 2001 at 2:38 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) This is made using the Tailoring Skill with a Trivial Level of 235. This is part of the Velious Tailoring. If you want more information about it I suggest going to Http://www.eqtraders.com/secrets/recipes_velious.htm. Also explains why it costs so much for these items.
RE: Who is able to make this
# Oct 24 2001 at 12:27 PM Rating: Decent
FYI on all Velious tailored items there are no trivial levels. Even at tailoring 250 failure is often the result of a combine.
Who is able to make this?

I have never heard of anyone selling this or heard of anyone ask how to make it. Just wondering, because all of the artic gear looks really nice.
